Delhi gate/Lytton memorial was built for welcoming lord Lytton (1876-1880) then viceroy, for his visit to Nahan by Raja of Sirmour Shamsher Prakash.
It's the most prominent landmark of Nahan town. Maintained well hosts a clock that maintains correct time. Located in historical centre and located next to palace, play ground, a gurudwaras standing at a place where Shri guru gobind Singh Ji stayed for over six months, it is an impressive sight. It also hosts a cannon captured by Sirmaur soldiers during Is world war.

One of the many wonders of Sirmaur principality is Liton Memorial or Delhi Gate, Nahan. Possibly, it is meant to say strange, that there is no such type of medical or Delhi gate anywhere in Himachal. You can call it Clock Tower or even the Clock tower. Because four corners have been installed in all four directions on the highest point of the building.

This monument located in Nahan likes the Delhi Gate or Delhi door instead of the local people Liton Memorial. This memorial site, popularly known as Delhi Gate, boasts its history of friendly relations of Sirmaur and British rule.

It is said that this monument was established in 1877 in honor of Lord Lytton, Viceroy of India, by Sirmaur Nares Maharaja Shamsher Prakash. It is very bizarre and beautiful construction near Nahan Chagan. Two gates have been constructed under the building where the common people could pass. But there is a small cannon placed here.

Lord Vaisharai Lord Lytton organized the court on January 1, 1877, after assuming the charge of Viceroy. It is believed that in 1877, Lord Lytton organized a court in Delhi, in which 84000 people, including many kings and princes of the princely states of India and special people participated. It is believed that the Sirmaur king also participated in this event. The Queen of Victoria Queen of Victoria was also declared the Queen of India in the same ceremony.

Lovely and busy place of Nahan,clock some time found working, it is also bus stop, roads from here leads to main market ,court road,Royal Palace, Shimla road , Haryana state and uttranchal. Delhi Gate is actually Lytton memorial and standing besides Chowgaan play ground

This is Lytton memorial in Nahan district Sirmour of HP. This structure was erected to commemorate the memory of Lord Lytton.

Delhi Gate, also known as Lytton Memorial, is a historical place built by King of Sirmour Shamsher Prakash, just beside the playground Chaugan, during my college days, Science Block, of Govt College, was beside it.
