Kuldiha Forest Range Office

The Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Balasore district of Odisha, India. Established in 1984, it's an offshoot of the Simlipal National Park, forming part of a critical wildlife corridor in Eastern India.

The sanctuary sprawls across 272.75 square kilometers within the Chota Nagpur Plateau region. It's linked with Simlipal National Park via the Sukhupada and Nato hill ranges, creating a vast contiguous habitat for wildlife.

The area is classified as an Eastern Highlands moist deciduous forest ecoregion. Here, the landscape is dominated by Sal trees, creating a dense and shady canopy. However, there's a beautiful diversity of plant life including peninsular Sal forests, northern tropical semi-evergreen forests, moist mixed deciduous forests, and mixed dry deciduous forests.

This rich habitat provides shelter and sustenance for a plethora of wildlife, including some endangered species. If you're a nature enthusiast, Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to visit. While spotting tigers and leopards can be a matter of luck, there's a good chance of seeing a variety of birds and other wildlife. The sanctuary offers a serene escape into nature, with opportunities for trekking, birdwatching, and simply enjoying the tranquility of the forest.

You'll need to obtain a permit before entering the sanctuary. Permits can be obtained from the Nilgiri Forest Office. The winter months (October to February) are generally considered the best time to visit Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary. The weather is pleasant, and the animals are more active during this time.

Good. Very cooperative staff. Although office open time 9:30am but if you go after 8:00am they will issue the permit as they are staying in the office area only.

If you wish to visit kuldiha forest, you will get the entry permit as well as room booking facility from here. Stuffs behaviour is very nice and they are very cooperative.
