Memorial built in remembrance of Sri Dasrath Majhi, the mountain Man from Gahlaur, Gaya Bihar.
He has literally built a 110 ft road by cutting stones in the mountain manually by chisel and hammer and carved out a road in 22 years, thereby reducing the distance between his village and nearest Kasba from 55 km to 15 km only.
It was done by him in the living memory of his wife, whom he could not save due to long distance of travel from his village to Hospital.
Majhi lived from 1934 to 2007 and his awarded by Government of India for his monumental feat. A postage stamp was released by Indian Post in 2016 to accolade this terrific achievement.
This spot is located while travelling from Rajgir to Gaya by car.
