Katpadi Junction

A major station of Southern Railway Zone in Chennai Railway division. Those who come for treatment in Vellore must deboard at this station. Almost all the facilities are available(lift, sloping stairs, clean station area, cloak room, public washrooms) & they are really good, well maintained.
[Especially the Station master, enquiry department, GRP, RPF all the staff are really helpful & very efficient.]
***But more waiting halls & executive lounge are needed as the platform area is always overcrowded & people used to rest there until trains arrive.***

Main Station for Vellore Town . This is the junction station where the branch line of Katpadi to Villupuram , Katpadi to Bangalore / Trivandrum, Katpadi to Gudur , Katpadi to Chennai central meets. There are 5 Platform in this station. Platform 1 primarily used for trains running between towards Bangalore/Trivandrum while platforms 2, 3, 4, and 5 are used for trains running towards Tirupati or Chennai or Howrah . This station is fully equipped with lift , escalator and ramp along with stair for the facility of passengers . There are a big taxi and auto rickshaw stand outside of the station . Also a waiting area exists for passengers.

I arrived the Junction around 4am. That time was less crowded and silent. I think Most of the passengers are going the CMC for Medical issues.

Keep going Backwards overbridge and you'll get no.1 platform and you can get all taxis and auto for move your desired hotels.

Most clean and well maintained station I have seen ever! You will find every basic amenities here. Everything is well illustrated. Any citizen from any corner of country will find very easy to navigate or locate facilities here.

This station serves to vellore District. Station is well connected to near by places by bus, auto or private car.

Though a small station ,it is well equipped with elevator, escalator and ramp. AC waiting room is on chargeable basis . Has decent medical facilities for first aid. Both autos and bus are available outside station. it is near to VIT University.

It was a rainy day when we traveled, that was amazing. The disappointment is the train delayed 1 hour. That's even boring.

You have lift and staircase in this location.

Small Junction Station famous because of worldwide healthcare institute CMC Vellore, and almost trains have a stoppage here.

One Rly line comes from Chennai Side and the Other Rly line comes from Vijayawada Side and Unite to form Katpadi Junction. Which again splits into two directions , one Rly line going towards Pondicherry and the other main line going towards Jolarpetti.

All trains are available. Platform ticket ₹10/-.Enquiry available for any queries u want. Escalators,lift and ramp along with staircase.neat and clean platform and track. Pay and use toilets. ₹2/- for lavoratry but lady sitting outside charges ₹3/- for bathing purpose ₹5/- waiting rooms are not that good only chairs for sitting. All kinds of refreshments available. Tea charges ₹10/- 3 chapatti for ₹30/- with sabji and good puff at ahar juice centre. Only issue is with no one knows where train compartment is stop.so be careful about it. Ro drinking water booth. U will get cabs,taxis and buses just outside the station.

It is very busy station connecting Vellore to Chennai. It is a junction station. There is an escalator in the station which provides great help for the patients who come to Vellore for treatment. The station is very clean and tidy. Hundreds of autos are available here for easy transportation to the city. There is also a prepaid auto booth at the station.

I love this place. This is my native place. From my childhood I'm seeing this place. It is one among the big railway junctions in the state. From here many frequent trains to Chennai, Bangalore and Tirupati railway stations. Many weekly and daily trains will be accessible here. Season tickets also available here. It is also one of the oldest railway junction in the state. It was on the highway of vellore to chithoor and Tirupati. Also it was in between arakonam railway junction and jolaarpettai railway junction. Nearest major station is walaja road railway station. Nearby auto stand and bus stand is accessible from here.

Nice places. Clean station. Parking space is available electrical tickets vanding masin is available , emergency medicine and medical facility is available, reserved and unreserved tickets counter is available . Auto and bus is allyas available to rich in the main city . Restroom is available, on enquiry staf is so helpful they allyas give you right and helpful information

A small jn rail station, consists of four platforms.Very basic amenities are available there like.. cloak room, waiting rooms along with some food venders etc.

Perfect Junction, connecting rail routes to all the directions, every train stops here to anywhere to India..
Easily accessible, inside town.. 2 hrs to chennai, 3 hours to bnglr.. the platform details are maintained without fail.. 6 platforms wide area, food available 24h, lift and escalator available.. one of the very old station older than 160 years...
