This is a reserve forest. More than the place itself, the ride through the forest is what excites me the most. The place is very calm and cool. Even in hot summers, this place keeps its weather pretty relaxed. The roads are well maintained. You can't find many patches here. Also the signs are properly put. Humps are there in regular intervals.

It was a very nice experience. It is good to visit in Summer Season because it really refreshes you. The 40 hairpin bends are really thrilling and after the 30th bend, the road will be surrounded by various tea plantations. It is a nice view

Absolutely loved the experience of riding here. The hill feels steeper than Kodaikanal as one takes the bike up here. The weather is surreal. July to September is the best time to visit.

Absolute heaven for people who come from cities. Very good weather without much noise and pollution. Sighting of wildlife is purely based on luck. It is advisable to go early in the morning to enjoy sunrise and fog passing through the valley.

There are 40 hairpin bends on the way up to Valparai from Azhiyar.
Whenever you visit the place you will never get bored and it never fades away from your heart and the entire journey of valparai is covered by awesome and pleasing views. You will enjoy it for sure.

You will love and enjoy the nature.

Make sure to go at the good climatic condition which is December.

You can also witness elephants and typical lamb in your journey.

One of the good places to visit is the Valparai Mountain biking. It has a whooping 40 hairpin turns which is extremely amazing for bike rides. Roads are very well maintained. The temperature drops significantly as we climb higher. We can see the mountains reaching the cloud level. That much is the height of those huge mountains. There are a ton of tea plantations and small villages where people live for survival. Beautiful place overall. No wild animals there. Its meant to enjoy the beautiful mountain views and enjoy the chilling wind when you reach cloud level. Must visit place if i would suggest

At the foothills of Annamali tiger reserve..this is a place where nature is pristine, peaceful and abundant. Please treat the ace with respect and don't spoil the place. Stand in one of the spots and watch d elephants and serene forest ahead. Don't go when it rains heavily.

Such a serene drive that you must miss. Vaalparai to adhirappali falls. We took a bit to get ready and go through the forest route. Had we started early in the day we would have hit an opportunity to sink in the beauty of the night drive and bit more of the wild life than what we saw during the day. Some of my friends who are more in to wildlife told me we will spot elephants if we were lucky. But we could only see the fresh outputs on the way 😂🤣. Jokes apart we were able to sight them animals listed below (pics available only for those we could capture, rest were on the run):
1. THE WILD BOAR,
2. BLACK SCORPION (never seen them this big on the middle of the road visible while driving),
3. LION TAILED MONKEY (in abundance),
4. PEACOCKS,
5. THE MALABAR GIANT SQUIRREL,
6. NILGIRI TAHR(wild goats),
7. INDIAN WILD DEER
If you are planning to visit and try the day and night drive please do so by car. I wouldn't advise a bike drive in the night. We are planning to head back for a night drive through this place in the near future.

Anamalai Tiger Reserve is a gem nestled in the Southern Western Ghats, boasting a rich history dating back to 1848. As a model forest division, it's been meticulously managed, reflecting its significance in conservation. Spanning across Tamil Nadu, it's a vital part of the Western Ghats biodiversity hotspot. The reserve's diverse terrain and lush greenery make it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. A must-visit for nature lovers seeking tranquility amidst the wilderness.

Fantastic experience while travelling in hills especially through the clouds. Even though it's beautiful it also dangerous while travelling during night times, wild animals walking in the path & there is no light in the roads is well.

It's a heaven near us. No commercial stays, No private guesthouses, until you reach Valparai town. This forest is also the part of Anaimalai tiger reserve. So the forest department is maintaining the natural beauty as it has to be. It's a must see place just 104 kms from coimbatore.
