So nice pension ! The family is very friendly and welcoming, and Rajesh explained everything to see in the city.
The breakfast is excellent (cornflakes, homemade juice, yogurt, bread, butter, marmelade)

To say that Tourist Pension Nawalgarh is home away from home would not be an exaggeration. Our hosts, the Jangid family were the most gracious hosts; epitome of the Shekhawatti hospitality. Their dedication to promoting sustainable tourism and conservation of the cultural heritage of the region is noteworthy. Rajesh Ji's knowledge about the region made our exploration of the painted haveli towns most interesting.
I could write on and on about the delicious food we savoured each day. Each dish prepared and served with love and dedication, the flavours will linger on in the memories forever.
Sharing picture of one of the most interesting aspects of the homestay, the tree in first courtyard with Baya weavers' nests.. In the bustling extents of Nawalgarh town, even birds finding their cosy homestay here.

Very friendly home stay with comfortable rooms and exceptional home cooking. Make sure to stay for a few days as the knowledgeable host can organise many different day trips and workshops with local people. Very relaxed atmosphere. This place reminds you what travel is really about. Family friendly!

A Big thanks to Rajesh and his wife for their hospitality. I spend 3 nights (and a half😉) in their home, and it was such a pleasure. Organic food from their farm was perfect after 3 weeks of classic Indian meals. Rajesh helped me a lot as my sleeper bus to Pushkar was really late (more than 4 hours!). He didn't slept at all, bringing me at 4AM, in full night to the bus stop, waiting with me...
I recommend this homestay. Rajesh can make you discover a lot of things all around in the countryside (not only Havelis paintings). Thanks again !

One of the best places I have ever stayed! Because of the total balance among very welcome and save atmosphere, simple, but perfect design of the room, beautiful rooftop view, absolutely amazing homemade food and very friendly and noble family who run the place. All guests from different countries had common talks around s little fire at dinner. Recommend without any reservations!

This is just the perfect place to stay in India. We had such a wonderful time at Rajesh.

Rooms are cosy and quiet. Rajesh is one of the best guides in all rajasthan and the food is homemade and delicious.

There are extra activities that can be done. We recommend you to stay 2 or 3 nights there. Really worth it.

Rajesh and Sarla are warm and entertaining hosts at this boutique pension. We spent 3 nights with them in both a standard room and their beautifully decorated ‘honeymoon’ room. Both rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and decorated with traditional crafts and textiles for an authentic Rajasthani feel.
I had a wonderful cookery lesson with Sarla, whose vegetarian food throughout our stay was delicious, sourcing home grown and local ingredients. Their buffalo milk yoghurt, lemon marmalade and lime pickle were divine!
We were lucky that Rajesh was available to be our guide. He is committed to traditional arts and crafts and heritage conservation. With him we visited stepwells, temples, havelis, and a caravanserai equine centre, all brought to life with fascinating insights. He also offers motorbike tours with his stable of Royal Enfields, camel and on foot trekking.
The central hub of their pension has an acacia tree with weaver bird nests. This creates a unique and relaxing atmosphere.
Throughout our stay we received generous help including getting our Indian SIM cards to work and tracking down luggage lost in transit by the airline. The whole family made us feel welcomed and were 5 star hosts. This was an experience we would never have had in a more conventional hotel so we say a BIG Thank You to Rajesh and his delightful family.

For a genuine experience of Home Stay in the by-lanes of Nawalgarh in the heart of Shekhawati Region, this is the place. Had an awesome stay (with my wife and a couple friend, all Sr. Citizens) for two days. The rooms are basic, functional, and neat. Could park the car in the lane.
The hosts, Mr Rajesh Jangid, and his family were exceptionally hospitable, caring, and made our stay as comfortable as possible. The food, cooked by Mrs Jangid, right from breakfast to lunch and dinner, was authentic Rajasthani, and just superb.
Big bonus : Mr Rajesh, besides being an excellent host, is a very knowledgeable guide. Mr Rajesh, took us on walking tours covering the best of Shekhwati Havelis in Navalgarh and Mandawa, peppered with many welcome stops for super street food.

Wow !
One of my best experience, finally someone who understand what responsible and sustainable tourism is.
A real quality homestay, Rajesh is the best guide for the city and we were there just for 2 nights, I cannot imagine how much there is to discover and learn with him !
Local handicraft, good food and products, Haveli conservation... You find everything here.
Thank you again for this wonderful stay, we hope we could have stayed longer !

Exceptional hospitality and amazing food. Mr. Rajesh and family are lovely hosts who not only make your stay comfortable but help you explore the place better
.
The rooms are in their own homes and are well maintained and clean. Hot water is available for bath throughout the day. The rooms also have AC.

We had a lovely stay at the Tourist Pension in Nawalgarh. Rajesh, Sarla & family gave us a warm welcome. We stayed with them for 3 nights, went elsewhere in Shekhawati for a couple of nights and then came back to the Tourist Pension for 2 more nights, it was a relief to arrive back home again!

If you are travelling to Shekhawati, just do it all from here. Nawalgarh is really the best city to explore and you can easily do day trips to other towns from here.

Rajesh is a great guide, he is very passionate and knowledgeable about the area. We had so many special experiences with him, travelling through the countryside in his classy Ambassador car, visiting very old special temples and visiting the best havelis in the area. The town of Nawalgarh has a great old city area with interesting market streets and many beautiful Havelis.

Sarla is an amazing cook, we sampled so many different healthy homemade dishes... they treated us very well and looked after us like family. Our room was very beautiful and very comfy. We would highly recommend staying here.

We loved it and have many fond memories.

A superb place to stay with a friendly host in probably the most interesting town in Shekawati! Rajesh is a wonderful host, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide and an extremely generous and helpful man. The Pension has a delightful courtyard with a tree with nesting weaver birds.
The rooms are generously sized, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, the bathrooms are better than some 5* hotels.
The delightful food is home cooked by Rajesh's wife and they even have home baked wholemeal bread!
I tried to stay here 13 years ago but they were full so I was delighted to get a second chance.
We were a couple and two (opposite gender) singles. The plan was that the men would double up and the women also but Rajesh had a spare room and gave us 3 rooms for the price of 2 - very generous!
Rajesh gave us a quick night time walking tour of the town which was a vibrant intro to this most interesting of Shekawati towns.
I left my phone here by mistake, Rajesh went to great lengths to get it back to me in Delhi - I can't thank you enough, Rajesh.
Part of my mission in Rajasthan was to photograph stepwells and Rajesh found ones I didn't know of, once again many thanks!
Next time in Shekawati I'll go straight here. I can't recommend it enough.

A great 'homestay' place where you can learn much about the culture of the fascinating Shekhawati region of Rajasthan.
Rajesh will show you the richly decorated havelis of Nawalgarh, a small easy paced town, as well as taking you to other out of the way sites you just would not find by yourself. His wife Sarla cooks superb local dishes.
You are treated as one of the family and are asked to behave accordingly - so no alcohol or late nights etc.
But it is a rewarding experience.

Top place if you want to stay a little of the main roads. The host is extremely friendly. You can get home-cooked food from an eco farm. He and his wife tailored the food to our needs. Also he show us some of the nice Havelis in Nawalgarh. Highly recommended place!

A true Homestay experience and the best way to approach Indian culture deep into Shekawati area. Initialy my plan was to stay only one night but the warm welcome given by Rajesh and his family was so nice that I extended it another night. Best decision ever as I received so accurate and varied information from Rajesh to visit surroundings that my day get so busy visiting the village, Havelis and temples arround. I highly recommend this Homestay for people curious about out beaten paths and simply... willing to share!
