A good stop for breakfast on the highway and it's around 100 km from Bangalore and an easy to access restaurant.
We try their Ghee pudi idli, Vade, Masala dosa, Pudi Masala dosa, Uttam and coffee/tea.
Food was really good and the service is really quick (they will not allow us to wait for a min to serve.
All the items are hot and fresh.
The restaurant show topper is PUDI (Spicy and tasty)
We visited around 11 AM and all the items were hot including Vade.
Very spacious parking available including an electric charging station.
Huge Seating space also available.
Clean the washroom and recommend it to family and friends for breakfast and evening snacks.

Visited recently on September 8th. It was a discussion about a long drive for a Sunday brunch. Someone suggested Murugan Idli in Krishnagiri, which is about 80 KMs from where I am in Bengaluru. It turned out a great treat for taste buds.

The place has a legacy and loyal customer base. We tried their signature dish podi idli. It was so soft, spongy and 😋. Podi is basically a ground lentil condiment which is mixed with steamed idlis, and this dish is a popular south Indian breakfast. We also ordered ghee masala dosa and meals, which again delighted us.

The seating arrangement is really good, the food is traditional vegetarian south Indian and is authentic in taste and wholesome in quality. It is a nice, airy and hygienic place, ideal for food lovers across age groups.

One of the best place for idli and south indian breakfast . It offers soft , fluffy idlis with lots of variety . We loved every food we ordered .
Had Ghee podi idli , onion uttapam , mapillai idli and mouth watering Madurai halwa .
Went on weekend morning and it was crowded so there was waiting . But it was worth waiting . Service was also very fast and great.

The place was swarming with people, with waiting time of around 20 mins on a Friday morning.

Food did live up to the hype, the chutneys were amazing. Once inside the restaurant, service was quick and ragi idlis were an add on delicacy. Tea was a bit high on sugar.

I would recommend this pit stop for a fulfilling breakfast.

Great spot for a wonderful tiffin and piping hot Idlis, Vadas and Dosais. Tried the Ghee podi Masala dosa with Idli and Vada along with their mandatory four chutney varieties, awesome. Filter coffee here is standard and hits strong. Ask for customisation if you don't like the bitter strength levels. Oil and extra podi are charged extra. Sambhar and Chutney is served liberally. The servers will tempt you with other ready cooked options like the Madurai Halwa and Podi uttapams while you're in the zone. Enjoy this wonderful breakfast place. There is a sweet Shop right next to the billing counter for any packaged food purchases.

***Loos are clean but need maintenance to leaky faucets, taps and urinals.

Podi idly feels like it's straight from Heaven. Just melts in mouth like a candy😋😋😋 onion podi uthappam is just perfect. Loved each and every bite ❤😍

Murugan Idli Shop is synonymous with the perfect weekend getaway from Bangalore, drawing large crowds eager to savor its renowned delicacies. Although the wait can be lengthy, the evening visit proved to be a hidden gem – minimal crowds and top-notch food. The chutney was truly exceptional, elevating the entire dining experience. A definite must-visit for idli aficionados, especially during quieter times for a more enjoyable feast!

Ambience ,Quality of food ,Taste ate exceptionally well. Hospitality was a top notch.Plenty of parking .Must Try for travellers. I tried their famous Podi Idly and Sweet Pongal.Both are delicious

Food is good!! The wait was long! But absolutely worth the wait. Service is good enough.
Murgan idli for me was worth the hype.

Good pit stop for having breakfast or light dinner on the NH44 on the way to Bangalore. They also have a EV charger point. Washrooms are clean.

The podi idli and filter coffee are a must try.

We stopped here on our way to Kodaikanal from Bangalore and enjoyed a meal of masala dosa, uttapam, idli, and filter coffee. The idli was exceptionally soft, and the masala dosa was delicious. I especially appreciated the variety of chutneys that came with the dosa, idli, and uttapam—four different chutneys and sambhar were served alongside. The cost was also reasonable.

This place serves very tasty Tamil style breakfast :))
It’s always buzzing with people, you have to wait to get your hands on their soft idlies and crispy vadas. All so delicious 🤤

I heard the name of this famous idli shop many time.
On the day I visited the shop it was very crowded so we waited for our turn.
We had podi idli the taste of the idli is so delicious the idli was too soft and ghee smell was awesome. Onion dosa was also best basically the masala which they are using is quite unique and tasty.

Once you visit the restaurant must try podi idli.

Food was amazing taste , i think they use small onion in (onion uthapam) price is bit heigh and size is small. They use small onion so price is heigh😀

We stopped here for our breakfast on Friday. The food was amazing, service was quick. Though it was a little expensive, the food exceeded expectations. Ghee roast dosa, Pongal is a must-try. Washroom was clean and has ample parking space.

I had never expected an Idli restaurant to be this big and this good, the food was absolutely amazing and service was very fast, the only drawback is it was very crowded, there was a very long waiting queue but the food is totally worth it

The food here is really good and I am especially a huge fan of their ghee podi idly and ghee podi dosa.

I travel here atleast once or twice each month on Sunday mornings from Bangalore just for breakfast.

p.s. : Another added benefit of this place if all the superbikes that gather here in the parking lot on Sunday mornings.
