Dokhtar Castle

Must see Dokhtar Castle in Fars province , IRAN. It is called Dokhtar Castle or Girl Castle (Virgin Castle ) because it was unreachable by enemies.There are a few other such an castles in IRAN , By examining the mountain castles from the Sassanid period to the Islamic castles used until the last centuries, it is concluded that all these buildings have common structural features and one of the important reasons for their formation was the natural factor for defense and countering the attack of enemies.

Qal'eh Dokhtar is a castle made by Ardashir I( Sassanid era ) in 209 AD. It is located on a mountain slope near the Firouzabad-Kavar road in Fars Province.

This palace used to be a residential palace for the royal family, politicians and high profile people.

One can reach to castle with staircase which give you different angles from the castle.
Although this castle is kind a ruined, its absolutely worth visiting.

This castle is located near Firouz Abad city in Fars province and dates back to Sassanied time about 1800 years ago.
It was built by the order of Ardeshir, the founder of Sassanied Empire.He defeated Ardavan the fifth, the last king of Partian dynasty and stablished his empire.
He ordered to built this castle on top of the mountain for security.The castle had 3 floors for soldiers, ministers and king and his family.
When they finished the castle structure, Ardeshir settled there and if somebody wanted to enter castle, they do not let them with bows and arrows...

Qal'eh Dokhtar, Ghale Dokhtar, Dokhtar Castle or Dezh Dokhtar is a castle made by Ardashir I, in present-day Fars, Iran, in 209 AD. It is located on a mountain slope near the Firouzabad-Kavar road

There is an aprox 15 minutes stair-walk from the road to the castle but it certainly worth is as this historic building is in a way the base stone of Islamic Architecture all over the world.

A very beautiful and spectacular castle with a special location near Firouzabad, Fars

you have to climb about 200 steps to get there but if you are a fan of history and architecture it worth trying.this place is a very remarkable place. it is called Dokhtar(virgin) because it has been unreachable and it is also important because it is the first Dome in Iran and it was the start of using Domes in Iranian architecture.

Amazin castle from Sassanid period, 3rd century, it takes about 2 hours to get there from Shiraz, 400 stairs to the top of the mountain, main entrance of the castle will be full of bats sticking to the cieling, (just to let you know). Bring enough water and put sun cream, the weather is warm even if its spring or automn

Ghale Dokhtar or Dokhtar castle,is a 3 level castle build in Sasanid era ,even after 1800 years it's reminds the visitors of glory of Iran during those times

همین اول کار بگم که دختر نام قلعه پل استحکامات بسیاری در ایران هست که صفتی هست به معنای دسترس ناپذیر بودن
گفته می‌شود اردشیر ساسانی احتمالاً این قلعه را در اواخر دوران اشکانیان و زمانی که هنوز بر اردوان پنجم، آخرین شاه دودمان اشکانیان، خروج نکرده بود ساخته‌است.
مسیر دسترسی به این قلعه خیلی صعب العبور نیست و حدوداً یه ربع ۲۰ دقیقه طول می‌کشه تا پله‌هایی که تعبیه شده رو بالا برید
یه تله کابین هم ایجاد کردن برای حمل مصالح مرمت چند سالی هم این تله کابین مسافران بازدید کنندگان رو جابجا می‌کرد اما در حال حاضر غیر فعاله
من کمر و زانوی درستی ندارم اما به راحتی تونستم با استراحت برم بالا و فقط نیاز یه بطری آب نیم لیتری با خودتون ببرید
از من قبل از رفتن به اینجا اطلاعات کافی درباره‌اش بخونید بازدیدتون رو بسیار دلپذیرتر می‌کنه
این قلعه تا به امروز برای من جزو جذاب‌ترین و شگفت انگیزترین قلعه های باستانی بود که دیدم حتی فکر می‌کنم از الموت هم جذاب‌تره البته قلعه به خوبی حفظ شده با توجه به قدمتش خرابی‌های کمی داره
اینقدر ارزش دیدن زیادی داره حتماً اگر مسیرتون خورد اونو داخل برنامه‌تون بگنجونید
ما که رفتیم پول ورودی ندادیم و کسی نبود ورودی بگیره

قلعه ای بسیار زیبا بالای کوه،بجا مانده از دوران باشکوه ساسانی
این قلعه از چند سطح تشکیل شده و به وسیله پله های مدور که درون قلعه تعبیه شده است به سطوح دیگر دسترسی دارید و نهایتا به سطح آخر و شاه نشین می رسید

رفتن بهش خیلی سخت بود ولی نشون میده که چقدر فتح این قلعه سخت بود.

در جاده فیروز آباد به سمت کاخ...سمت چپ جاده و در بالای کوه و درست روبروی تله کابینتی هست که روزی برای ترمیم این بنا زده اند...از کنار ورودی تله کابین وارد شوید و راه را به سمت کوه بروید...سخت نیست و راحت میشود بالا رفت

قلعه دختر به معنی قلعه دست نایافتنی دژی مستحکم و نفوذ ناپذیر ، برتنگه، آبراهه و جاده مجاور رود تسلط و کنترل کامل داشته و علاوه بر سرباز خانه بعنوان کاخ تابستانه اردشیر بابکان نیز کاربری داشته
