Cafe Vatnajökull

Wonderful cafe, plentiful seating. So glad we discovered Swiss mocha on their menu, it was delicious! There are options for warm food, and the facilities include clean restroom and wall ports to charge devices. As you can see, the ambience is cute too. How lovely is the little coffee mug wall clock? Overall, a place with a little personality, and you will be glad to have a warm beverage after a glacier hike or ice cave exploration nearby.

The staff was very attentive and friendly.
We had a delicious Marital Bliss Cake and a Vegan Crumble.You should try these options when you came.
The space is gorgeous, makes you feel at ease and cozy, like at a friend’s house.
There is some books you can read and a perfect reading book at the back, with some cozy couches.
They also have a little gift shop with local
products and amazing art.
From the delicious food, the beautiful playlist playing in the back, the cosy decor, the plants, the art on the walls, the art with funny remarks about coffee, this is definitely the perfect stop!!!

Went here twice! Best coffee we had in Iceland. In a cold day, you should try the swiss mocha too, which is a dessert in a cup.

We also tried the brownie, which was very good and a couple of sandwiches which were fresh and fairly priced.

They’ve got wifi, a cute little souvenir store, nice bathrooms and a nice and cozy atmosphere overall.

Very nice cafe, great for a stop as it also has self serve gas pump that accepts tap on credit card.

Inside they sell soups, pastries, sandwiches, and drinks.

Homemade pastry is delicious, and coffee is excellent. A good place to stop for a break. They also have a lovely baguette with salmon and egg.

Great food and easy delicious sandwiches! My friend loved the coconut curry soup and the coffees were awesome. The perfect stop for a quick lunch while driving / hiking through the south!

We stopped here after visiting diamond beach, its obviously on main road. Its very beautiful cozy place, where you can have some sandvich, cake, soup, coffee, beer and so on. Prices are ok. I really recommend to stop by here on your way.

Was heading to ice cave tour and found this cafe along the way. Credit to the rainy cold weather, decided to make a pit stop here to get some hot beverages. Glad I did so! The cafe is indeed a good place for a quick recharge during any long road trip. The vibe is very cozy and really love the coffee and dessert served over here!

Fantastic cafe with a very sweet and very service minded waitress. The curry soup was outstanding and the sandwiches were also very good. Everything could be made gluten free. Suddenly my husband had several choices of food to choose from. I only regret that I didn’t buy a brownie.

We stopped here on our way back to Reykjavik and it was well worth the stop. The gentleman helping me was so nice and patient while I ordered my food and then came back up because my husband wanted a cappuccino. I ordered a tuna sandwich and it was delicious! I love cucumber on a sandwich. My husband liked his cappuccino as well. The price was not outrageous and the decor was cozy and inviting. I liked the local artwork around the cafe. This is a must stop if you are driving through.

This was a great stop along the drive towards Diamond Beach and the glaciers. Hot chocolate was spot on and had a few really good pastries too. Was able to top of the tank and use the restroom. Cool atmosphere if you want to sit and relax for a bit.

One of the best gas station cafe in Iceland, it’s cozy and warm inside, and the food is good. We ordered a salmon sandwich and a bottomless soup, you can help yourself with bread as well.
Toilet is only offer to costumers, for others it will be 100 kr
Stop by and rest if you can, highly recommended.

Quaint little cafe at the side of the road offering coffee. Sandwiches, cakes and soup. It’s also includes a photo gallery. Very cosy stop. I had the hot chocolate and it was excellent. Staff are also very friendly.

Delicious homemade sandwiches and bottomless soup. Very friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Clean, wheelchair bathroom. Very nice experience overall. Recommend stop to fill up your vehicle's tank and ... your belly!

Delicious small little coffee. We had a coffee and a brownie and both delicious. Coffee was warm and made just as we got here. Great music and a calm and relaxing ambiance. Clean bathrooms as well.

Traveling around the island this cafe was a perfect stop to refresh. Gas, bathrooms, and food/drinks. Staff was very friendly, bathrooms clean, easy menu, order and sit down at any of the many seating options. I had the ham & cheese sandwich, a crumble dessert, a hot chocolate and I enjoyed every item. Would recommend. :)

My new favourite café in Iceland! I've been all over the country and this was just awesome! Really great coffee, and a yummy brownie. The inside was very cute, if we weren't on a roadtrip, I could've sat there all day long. Both girls working were lovely, and I had such a nice chat. I'd love to come back 💕

I stopped at Cafe Vatnajökull today and it is a brilliant place to stop at. I love all the little details everywhere inside. Then there coffee is So good. It’s important to support young people that are doing great things and I can that they put there heart and soul into this Cafe.
