Our group of 9 ppl had such an amazing dinner that we went back for our last lunch together.

The chef Simone is the nicest, the food is de-li-cious and plentiful, the wine is flowing… and he even was able to adapt his menu for all individual food requirements (veg, allergies…).

Thanks again, we’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was excellent - very tasty! Lots of herbs and fresh ingredients, some of which Simone the chef and owner goes foraging. Lovely service. Book a place outside on the terrace.

A must visit - we had the best meal I have had in Italy here. We went to Da Beppe several days ago after hearing great things about it. Da Beppe is under new management with the chef being there just a few months. So the old reviews aren’t relevant. What can I say. The location / ambiance is great. We put ourselves in the hands of the chef and had an amazing 4 courses for a very reasonable price. To start - delicious ultra local anti pasta. Followed by a choice of pasta (I had local meat pasta), then the most amazing salt cod and the best deserts I have had. I would definitely recommend going!

Delicious food and service! We had Sunday lunch today. 6/7 fungi biased (fresh and in season) dishes/courses and everything was lovely. Everything!
Simone is the new owner and is a young, talented chef with international experience. But he is creating local, Tuscan dishes, some with a modern feel. He and his staff were great, helpful, welcoming and the meal, including a litre of house red and cafe was very inexpensive/great value. Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍

We've spent a wonderfull evening with friends and kids. The food was amazing and Simone (the chef) was very friendly and nice with us. The best food we've had in Italy during our stay of to weeks in august 2023.

An absolutely unforgettable experience.

We went for a hike, having heard that we should find a restaurant called ‘Da Beppe’ somewhere in Piastroso that could serve as a nice break and a good opportunity to have lunch. That’s all we knew (hoping it was even open on a sunday).

When we arrived at the most lovely looking and scenic terrace, we were enthousiastically welcomed. We got seated and before we knew it we got submerged in the authentic Italian culinary rollercoaster of a lifetime. What seemed to be 3 generations of an Italian family were working hard to serve us with the most amazing, high quality, fresh (and homemade) antipasti. And that was only the beginning.

Accompanied by a lovely caraphe of cold vino bianco, we had the best Italian foods our north-western european minds could comprehend. What was originally intended to be a ‘quick lunch break’ turned out to be a 2.5 hour multi-course experience that completely blew me away. It really felt like we were part of one of those classic Italian ‘sunday afternoon lunches’, which had taken an Italian mom and grandmother the entire morning to prepare.

So after their cooking had put every Italian-style restaurant I had ever visited to shame (and probably will continue to do so for the the next 25 years), I went inside to pay. As someone from north-western Europe, the total sum on the bill was laughable. Just the antipasti and the wine alone would have easily cost me that much if I had eaten something of the same quality back home. But that wouldn’t have had the same scenery, or the warm and hospitable service.

Conclusion: if you are in the area, and have even the vaguest interest in Italian food, you owe it to yourself to come here. The people at Da Beppe are doing God’s work, and that kitchen in producing non-stop miracles.

And please, if you are on vacation, and you are used to pay way more for Italian food back home (which probably has nothing on the food you get served here), consider giving them a hefty tip. Even with a 100% tip you would still be off cheaper than you would back home, paying the base price. It’s only fair I think, and also partially saves you from the realisation that you’ve been overcharged for Italian food your entire life, and that this will continue to be the case until you die.

Great place to eat local food amongst locals. The porcini soup and spaghetti bolognese were delicious! Definitely recommend this place!

Sono tornato a distanza di anni al famoso "Ristorante da Beppe".
La gestione è cambiata ma quello che non è cambiato è il rispetto del tradizioni e la voglia di fare bene.
E' un ambiente in cui si è accolti con calore e sembra di stare in famiglia.

Op aanraden van de eigenaars van het appartement waar we op vakantie waren, zijn we hier naar toe gegaan, compleet zonder verwachtingen.
Maar wat was dit fantastisch, een echte complete beleving. We kregen een fantastisch menu voorgeschoteld, startende met een amuse, daarna een heerlijke antipasti, compleet met eigen gemaakte producten of producten uit de streek. Dit gevolgd door een overheerlijke paddestoelensoepje, een super pasta met ricotta en brandnetel, gevolgd door friet van paddestoelen en kip in de marsala. Als klap op de vuurpijl nog een heerlijk dessert, voor ieder aan tafel aangepast. De kinderen kregen als bonus zelf nog een 2de dessertje.
Wat een passie en wat een heerlijke gerechten, compleet bereid met ingrediënten uit de natuur en de omgeving.
Ben je in de buurt, zeker gaan! Deze topkok weet wat hij doet!

Wir waren zwei Mal zum Mittagessen hier und haben es sehr genossen, es ist absolut familienfreundlich, auf unseren kleinen Sohn wurde sehr liebevoll eingegangen aber für ihn wurde nichts extra berechnet.
Man isst ein Menü mit verschiedenen Optionen, es gibt keine Karte.
Besonders positiv beeindruckt hat uns, wie flexibel der Wirt mit der Glutenunverträglichkeit meines Mannes umgegangen ist, er hat schnell adäquate Alternativen serviert und sich immer erkundigt, was möglich ist und was nicht.
Auch vegetarisch wäre offensichtlich möglich gewesen, das haben wir aber nicht genutzt.

Auch die Atmosphäre und das Panorama auf der Fahrt sind zauberhaft.

Wir kommen gern wieder.

Ako stvarno želite nešto pravo domaće, autohtono, netipično, kako je bilo prije mnogo mnogo godina, onda trebate doći ovdje!
Nismo planirali doći bas taj dan, malo je ispalo neplanski i na naše iznenađenje totalno se isplatilo. Osvanuli smo na vratima restorana sa pitanjem - mozemo li pojesti nešto od gljiva?
Totalno nas je oduševilo i mjesto, i hrana, i domaćin, i ambijent - bas sve tako domaće!
Svi smo navikli na klasične restorane gdje dođeš/naručiš/pojedeš/platiš/odeš/u većini slučajeva zaboraviš jer nema neke price.
Tu je sasvim drugacije! Jedno nezaboravno iskustvo, nije jednostavno opisati, treba se jednostavno doći!
U vrlo kratkom vremenu domaćin je nama pripremio slijed od 6 jela (jos smo i desert dobili, koji je nas oduševio, od kestena a nismo mogli pogoditi sastojke, totalno iznenađenje!) Ostali smo malo u šoku sta sve smo stigli kušati (na slikam nisu sva jela, neka drugima bude iznenađenje, treba se doći, opustiti, uživati i vjerovati domaćinu).
Svaka čast, isprike mozda smo krivo zapamtili ime -Simone, puno puno hvala! (Ako smo krivo napisali ime, molimo vas ispravite).
Jela s gljivama i od glava na različite načine - nepce je naše bilo na sedmom nebu! Frisko ubrane gljive, friske tartufi - tu nema komentara! Perfektno!
Ovako nešto jos nismo probali i htjeli bi ponovo doći ako bude prilika!

Andare da Beppe, sembra fare un salto negli anni 70, tutto è rimasto uguale l'arredo i tavoli il bar, l'aria che si respira è cordiale il cibo ancora meglio. Non chiedete un menù particolare, da Beppe si mangia sempre quello che c'è, ma di sicuro funghi cucinati a dovere in tutti i modi, rigorosamente Porcini freschi direi di giornata. Anche i prezzi sono rimasti fermi agli anni 70, con 15 euro si può fare una principesca merenda a base di affettati formaggi funghi e buon vino, una merenda che non invidia un pranzo. Per una cena sono sufficienti poco più di 20 euro a testa

Da Beppe in piastroso con Simone si mangia di molto bene anche la pizza !!!!!! Ottimo impasto, perfatta cottura nel forno a legna ,farcitura generosa.
Lasciate fare all ' oste e non vi deluderà mai!

Siamo stati più volte e torneremo regolarmente in questo posto.
Partendo dal buonissimo e ricco antipasto, poi una deliziosa zuppa di porcini, tagliatelle ai porcini, cinghiale con funghi porcini e grifone fritti. Per finire abbiamo preso una serie di dolci tutti squisiti e fatti in casa.
Rapporto qualità e quantità prezzo incredibili, chi scrive recensioni negative non so dove abbia mangiato perché questo ristorante è uno dei migliori della Lucchesia e della Garfagnana e uno dei pochi posti dove mangiare davvero i funghi in quantità.
Straconsigliato.
