Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa

Highly recommend this hotel! I've spent 1500+ nights in Marriott hotels and the staff are among the best I have ever encountered. We travelled with kids, including 2 small babies and the staff couldn't have done more to make this trip as wonderful as it was. The highlights included the terraces with incredible views and the very warm and comfortable indoor pool. The last thing I'll mention is the great value you get at this property - book and you won't regret it.

A little bit harder to get to than your typical Italian cities, but this was the highlight of our trip. The service here was phenomenal, everyone was kind and helpful. The location is gorgeous and the room / view was stunning. We wished would could have stayed longer. They recommended a great winery tour and made booking a taxi to and from the train station very easy. We will absolutely be staying here when we visit again. Truly and lovely, relaxing experience.

Idyllic location for a relaxing few days. Front desk staff were fantastic. They go above and beyond to help you have the best stay with information and recommendations for the area. Even after you leave they are going out of their way to help you. Accidentally left my eyeglasses there and they searched for a day or two to find them and made sure they got back to me. The views there are spectacular. The rooms are beautiful with great views. The entire hotel was impeccably clean. We definitely recommend it and we will certainly go back.

I want to give more than 5 stars for everything here. This is one of the most picturesque locations we have ever stayed. Overlooking the Tuscan Valley with amazing views everywhere you look.
The hotel is of very high standard and has every possible convenience you can think of.
The in-house restaurant was outstanding, and this is also where breakfast is served, which is also highly recommended.

The staff can not be more helpful. They go above and beyond and are extremely polite and welcoming.

Won't normally leave reviews but compelled to here. The location is just absolutely stunning, view at breakfast, the pool and balcony are like I've never seen before. The staff were also great in general but a massive shout out to Maria, she found us the best places for dinner and places to go. My misses and son are vegan so she even called around to make sure they could could accommodate them (not easy in Tuscany). She was the best, my son loved her and we loved her so genuinely warm and kind and super helpful. The place is extremely secluded which is part of the magic but you need a car ideally (thankfully we had one). I really can't see how anyone would be disappointed staying here.

Staid for one night on a business trip at the beginning of July. It is a wonderful place in the middle of Tuscany. Despite the hotel being quite big, it doesn't feel crowded any time. Rooms are small but very nice, clean, and good equipped. Staff is very friendly and supportive. Food in the own restaurant is high quality and authentic. Only the bar closed around 11pm.

Best hotel in Tuscany if you want to enjoy an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the most beautiful Tuscan landscape. Great service, two pools, the pool bar drinks are outstanding. We got connecting rooms so we had a huge room overlooking the mountains. This is the best kept secret hotel in Tuscany.

Very nice location for a relaxing break. The hotel offer a nice gym, pool and a spa. The position is really quite, inside a natural reserve just few kilometers from the nice town of Barga.

Beautiful views from the room, restaurant and pool. The pool is usually quiet and nice and cool. Only a small shallow end. Sunbeds easily available until 10.30am then sun deck gets full up. Attentive pool guy. Bar and restaurant staff are very friendly but can be slow to respond to food and drinks orders. Lovely buffet breakfast and great coffee. Ravioli and ceaser salads good. Hotel room very clean and comfy large bed. Shower leaked. Charateristic, authentic town Barga is perfectly nearby in taxi with lots of restaurant choices.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Staff were amazing and beyond helpful. All our questions were answered and guided with anything we needed. We were also upgraded to a bigger room. All the rooms are nice. The resort has all the facilities you would need. Gym was empty on all my training days, was is lovely. The views are spectacular from the hotel. The food on site is great. Overall it was a lovely stay and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the Italian alps.

Stunning view and location! Beautiful rooms and interiors, there is a lot to explore in the hills around for more stunning views over the mountains. Very professional yet friendly service. Looking forward for our next visit at Il Ciocco!

A Superb Stay at Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Hotel: Immaculate, Delightful Cuisine, and Exceptional Staff.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco hotel during the second week of May for a GRC conference (CO2 Assimilation in Plants from Genome to Biome), and I must say it was a lovely experience that exceeded my expectations. It was a picturesque hotel which offers the perfect setting to explore the beauty of the Tuscan surroundings, with its rolling hills, vineyards, and charming villages.

First and foremost, the hotel's commitment to maintaining a spotless environment was evident throughout, from the lobby to the rooms. What truly made my stay exceptional was the outstanding staff at the hotel, with special mention to Lorenzo, Emanuele, Dennis, and Samuele. Their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine care for guests' comfort were commendable. Their attention to detail, promptness in handling requests, and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our groups comfort was superb. It was a pleasure to interact with them, and their exceptional service played a significant role in making my stay.

I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable and relaxed stay in Tuscany.

Special mention to the staff without whom this hotel resort could not function. Ariana at reception, Angela at the breakfast restaurant and Lorenzo at the dinner service are exceptional in their "can do" attitude.

Being let down way too many times by chain hotels like Mariott brand, I wasn’t holding my breath when we made the reservation for this hotel for 1 week+.

I was pleasantly surprised! Recognising the ambassador elite status, we were upgraded to a big suite, and they helped us change to another room upon request, with an amazing view of Tuscan valley. The good thing about this hotel doesn’t end with just a scenic, panoramic view of the valley, the service provided is also top notch! The front desk staffs were so helpful, everything can be easily resolved with sending messages via the Marriott app instead of calling (super efficient in solving our issues in-app too), the cleaning lady for our room was very friendly and kind, and the restaurant that we dined in at the terrace was also charming with great staffs!

The food at the terrace restaurant was good, beef tartar, grilled seabass and pasta with duck sauce just to name a few. Thank you to the signora that brought us extremely delicious and freshly baked focaccia bread from our last day’s stay.

We unfortunately didn’t manage to spend time at the spa because of tight schedules. I love everything here, it was amazing! The stay for 1 week alone was roughly 3,000 euros, excluding other expenditure like food and beverages, which I think is super reasonable given the service quality that we have received. One of the few times that we weren’t being let down. I am sure that we will be back again for future stays (in summer I think it’s the best) and likely to also try the spa.

This property has an amazing stunning view from the top. Beautifully situated in ll Ciocco, love the room. Very spacious suite, nice getaway in Tuscany.

A delightful resort in western Tuscany. As a Marriott Titanium member I was upgraded to a nice suite. The property is on a mountain across from another mountain with a valley with lovely small towns in the middle. The views are spectacular. Nice spa at property. Maria at the front desk is an absolute gem. Very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and customer oriented. Marriott would do well to promote her as high as she wants to go. Highly recommended.

The view is exceptional, looking out over the Tuscan valley. The pool is incredible and you get the same view.

They were accommodating and made a vegan pasta for us for room service which was great after a long day.

My only regret is not staying here for a week instead of just one night.

Just a warning since this was not clear to me when I booked: this hotel is not appropriate for anyone with a fear of heights. The photos only show beautiful views, but these are not rolling hills. My wonderful wife made it halfway up the winding vertical entrance road before we had to stop and cancel our reservation. I rated five stars because I didn’t want to deter anyone, just was a huge surprise for me.
