Masseria Xireni

We had a really, really great stay here. Above all, the hosts were super nice and helpful with everything. We felt more than welcomed. The view is amazing. We enjoyed the calmness of the place and just hung out. Also, dinner is really good. Mario, Anna and Silvia are producing most of the ingredients themselves - we saw Mario picking the ingredients of our dinner himself the same day and even helped him. Same goes for the really good breakfast. You can see that they want to serve good quality to their guests and put thoughts and love into what is served. In the end, we were sad that we didn’t stay longer, but we hope to be back soon!

Our family planned an epic vacation to visit relatives in and around Castellana Sicula (plus Calcarelli and Petralia). Our first choice was to choose a quiet bed and breakfast between the highway for easy access to Palermo, Catania, and Cefalu at the same time.

Masserie Xireni was the perfect location and had a beautiful view of the mountains.

We had 19 people that travelled from Chicago, Ohio, Georgia, Indiana, and Kentucky - everyone meeting within a few days of each other.

We communicated quite a bit with Silvia to coordinate and update her on different arrival times over 3 days and she was very responsive and accommodating.

Our rooms were all ready when we arrived, breakfast was always perfectly timed and even though we had a mixture of young and old, Millennials and GenXers, everyone loved the Italian fare.

One of the special things that Silvia and her parents provided (which was totally unexpected), knowing that this was a once in a lifetime event - literally everyone in the family visiting in the same week, they prepared a celebratory feast for more than 20 people as a special treat and a thank you for choosing their bed and breakfast.

We had such a great time and it turned out it was the only time everyone actually got together and talked - all 20 people in our family, for more than 4 hours. It was the most special time of the entire vacation and Silvia and family provided everything unprompted.

The pool was very clean, the dining area was impeccable, and the rooms were always spotless.

Personally I would recommend the Masseria Xireni Bed and Breakfast for anyone that wants to experience Sicily in its truest form, with a relaxed and welcoming family environment. I can't wait to see how the new buildings and rooms will turn out - they look amazing!

This was a beautiful place. The location is actually very good. It seems like it’s in the middle of nowhere, which for some that want to get away, it’s perfect. Actually it’s the perfect distance to see many towns and cities and sites. It’s about 45 minutes from Cefalu, an hour to an hour and a half from each major airport. Agrigento, Villa Romana Del Casale, Syracuse, Trapani, they are all within a drive from Masseria Xireni. Explore the amazing mountain towns, see historic villages and sites, like the mosaics. There is history everywhere you go. Just relax. Take it easy. Mario, Anna and Silvia are right there for you. We would stay again. Thank you.

Aggriturismo surrounded by rolling hills. Easily accessed from the main road. Nice pool and rooms plus very good local food served by Sylvia, who is a charming hostess.

Wonderful farmstay with a lovely family and in a very good location. The Masseria has 7 very individual rooms (they're adding ~4 by the end of this year) that are lovingly and authentically decorated. The family is lovely, very caring and helpful, and lives on the same farm. There are also plenty of animals (chicken, geese, a dog, horses, rabbits, cats) which our toddler enjoyed a lot. The location is wonderful too: close enough to Palermo/Cefalu for day trips (located within 5 minutes of the major highway), yet quiet and surrounded by nature. The food is also excellent, all organic and mostly from their farm. The dinner prices aren't cheap but worth it.

The cats and the dog were lovely. Nice views also.

I do not normally leave reviews, but Masseria Xireni was one worth writing about. We travel a lot and stay in a number of agriturismo's or BnBs and we have high standards. This agriturismo is a real agriturismo. They grow and use their own organic produce even in the abundant meals that they serve in the evening. The food is genuine and typical of the region. One can also buy their produce. The farm has many animals and include horses, a donkey, sheep, turkeys, a rooster, chickens, cats, dogs and is surrounded by hills, fields and meadows at 800 metres above sea level. Our 5 year-old son loved seeing and "playing" with the animals. Our host Silvia also arranged a donkey ride. The Masseria is family owned and run through a lot of hard work and dedication. All the family is extremely friendly and as guests we truly felt at home spending 3 nights here. I would definitely recommend. The place also has a guest kitchenette that was ideal for preparing our own meals for the children when they got hungry. They catered very well for our tastes and preferences in food. Rooms are typical rustic furniture, comfortable and shower had good water pressure and proper hot water. Part of staying on a farm surrounded by animals, obviously at night there could be an occasional donkey bray, dog bark or rooster crowing but this is part of the character and fun of the farm.

Very cosy place with nice hosts (who speak only some English but are very kind and helpful). Great home-grown food. Stunning panorama, totally stress-free aire.

Masseria Xireni è un posto magico, sia per la sua posizione strategica e per la bellezza del luogo ma sopratutto perché dietro ogni cosa si percepiscono cura e amore ormai molto rari da trovare nel mondo dell’ospitalità. Silvia e la sua famiglia sono persone meravigliose, competenti e davvero piacevoli, tutto ciò che portano in tavola, dalla colazione all’abbondante cena, viene dal loro orto o da produttori locali, torte fatte in casa, yogurt fatto in casa, insomma, davvero tutto perfetto!
Ritorneremo sicuramente ❤

Bel posto dove si respira la tranquillità della campagna siciliana e si mangia benissimo. Posizione strategica. Vista mozzafiato. Il prezzo è adeguato alla bellezza ma nn è economico, ma questa è una costante dei nostri tempi.

Sono rimasto molto colpito da questa parte della Sicilia.
Posto strategico per raggiungere diverse località di montagna e di mare. NB: Bisogna essere automuniti

Felicissimi della scelta fatta. Masseria bellissima con un’accoglienza impeccabile da parte di Silvia e di tutta la sua famiglia. Stanze pulitissime. Sala comune con una vista spettacolare sulle colline. Per quanto riguarda il cibo sarebbe inutile cercare di spiegare qualità e sapori…è una emozione che puó essere solo vissuta e non raccontata. Da ripetere assolutamente!

Il posto è magnifico e la famiglia ancora di più! Sono stati molto disponibili su tutti i punti di vista..
La casa è veramente accogliente ed è come una piccola fattoria. Il cibo che preparano è tutto interamente fatto da loro con frutta e verdura a kilomrtro 0.. tutto delizioso e fresco. Se cercate un posto per uscire un po' dalla città e avvicinarvi di più alla natura, questo è il posto giusto.
Io senz'altro tornerò ! 😊

Abbiamo pernottato una sola notte in questa incantevole masseria ma grazie alla calda accoglienza del proprietario Mario e della sua famiglia, ci siamo trovati subito a nostro agio. Se ne avremo l’occasione, ci torneremo volentieri!

Struttura in completo stile rustico e curata sotto ogni punto di vista.
Cibo più che ottimo, abbondante e con ingredienti a km0, con grande attenzione anche ad eventuali intolleranze alimentari.
Gentilezza, disponibilità e simpatia: il mio compagno ed io ci siamo sentiti come in famiglia. Il tutto racchiuso in un contesto completamente immerso nella natura!
Che dire? Torneremo presto!
