Rustic and authentic Tuscan food in an off the beaten track trattoria, with a long history dating all the way back to 1870.

Priced fairly with decent portions of food that is targeted at a local audience, although also welcome to tourists. The opposite of a tourist trap approach to presentation and general atmosphere remaining humble and sociable.
Strongly recommend the bistecca and the tagliatelle when available, and the apple tart for dessert.

As an added bonus, the decoration really adds character to the indoor section of the trattoria! In other words, couldn’t recommend the place more!

Absolutely incredible restaurant.
From the starters (fantastic portions too) of pappa al pomodoro, ribollita and taglieri; to the main dishes consisting of rosticciana, salsiccia and other types of meat, were all of superb quality. Desserts were incredible, from the cheesecake to the tiramisù. The vino della casa was good. Really, everything was of excellent quality.
The restaurant itself is extremely cute, typical family-run Tuscan restaurant. The Matteuzzi family, who all works there is extremely kind and always ensures you have a great time in this wonderful place. Interior design of the restaurant is contemporary and very cozy. Bathrooms are clean and have pedal controlled sinks which is fabulous (unfortunately becoming a rarity in Italy). Cristina, the main character of the restaurant, is an incredibly kind and passionate person which will make your experience at Trattoria Matteuzzi unforgettable.
Location is excellent, roughly 20 minute car ride from the center of Florence and very close to San Casciano. It is very well connected thanks to the Firenze - Siena highway. It is located in a beautiful countryside and offers plenty of parking. They also have so much livestock! Chickens, piccioni, they got it all.
Price is great, we were a table of 6, ate plenty plenty of food, desert, wine and coffee and pricing was €30 each. I absolutely recommend it, truly a 10/10 experience. Will surely be back!

This authentic tuscan restaurant is one of the best I've been to in San Casciano. The food is exceptional and the service is amazing. We got the pappa al pomodoro and the Ribollita as our first course and they both didn't disappoint, the dishes were pretty much clean after. As our second course we had a selection of different meat like sausages and ribs with potatoes, also incredible. Everything we were unable to finish we took to go as well. I then had a tiramisú as dessert which was the perfect way to end the lunch. I 100% recommend coming here for lunch if you're in the area and enjoy a local restaurant in the countryside.

Een Hemelse Italiaanse Ontdekking! Lokaal, vriendelijke en heerlijke gerechten! Echt een fantastische selectie van kazen en vlees, lekkere volle rode wijn erbij maakte de lunch perfect. Trattoria Matteuzi wordt al jaren lang gerund door een familie, je vind de familie foto’s op de wand terug leuk om te zien!

Buitengewone vriendelijke service en passie, een gastvrije ervaring. Na een renovatie ziet het restaurant in zijn simplicity er eenvoud en harmonieus uit. De sfeer ademde authentieke charme uit, met rustieke details en zachte verlichting. Het menu was een reis door Italië, je komt hier voor een uitgebreide lunch, diner met heerlijke huisgemaakte desserts.

Storica trattoria a conduzione familiare dove si respira l’atmosfera di una volta anche se è tutto perfettamente restaurato e super pulito. Proprietari cordialissimi e servizio rapido con piatti gustosi e di ottima qualità. Prezzi bassissimi pertanto il rapporto qualità/prezzo è imbattibile

La vera cucina toscana, non mangiavo così da secoli!
La trattoria, recentemente rinnovata nei suoi ambienti, ha un’atmosfera casalinga che la rende speciale, piacevole e ben tenuta.
Qualità del cibo buonissima per prezzi più che onesti.
Torneremo volentieri!

L'odore del braciere prima di entrare è favoloso. In poche parole sa veramente di Toscana!

Una trattoria molto bella, con atmosfera rustica e casalinga. Cibo tradizionale toscano di alta qualità e locale, grandi porzioni, e personale molto amichevole.
Ci ho pranzato oggi con un amico ed eravamo entrambi molto contenti, torneremo di sicuro!

Wir waren am Ostermontag spontan hier essen und es war rundum perfekt. Das Essen war fabelhaft und der Service sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder und kann die Trattoria Matteuzzi wirklich jedem empfehlen! Bravo!

Piatti strepitosi e abbondanti, personale gentilissimo e disponibile.

Ottima cucina Toscana in ambiente semplice con personale gentile e premuroso.
L'anziano titolare dedicato alla cottura della carne alla griglia sa fare veramente bene il suo lavoro e quindi la scelta che ho fatto di una bistecchina di maiale alla griglia è stata premiata: era ottima.
Da non perdere la torta di mele casalinga che viene fatta quasi quotidianamente.

Il ristorante si trova nelle tipiche campagne toscane, molto carino e “family-like comforting” (casalingo).
Da buona forchetta di cibo toscano, ho mangiato Fegatini e poi a seguire Pollo e Coniglio Fritto. A seguire Salsiccia e Insalata di Radicchio fresca. Per poi concludere con torta di mele, come dolce finale. Tutto molto buono, con personale sempre disponibile e amichevole in un ambiente che ricorda casa, finalmente la tipica trattoria toscana.

La vera trattoria familiare Toscana, pochi piatti ma ottimi e a prezzi onestissimi. Ambiente semplice e curato. Consigliata

Una trattoria Toscana semplice ma dove si apprezza la cura dei dettagli. Prova da dieci per piatti insidiosi come le melanzane alla parmigiana e il fritto di pollo e coniglio. Da non perdere i dolci in particolare il cheesecake!

Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale complimenti al cuoco, ho mangiato un baccalà alla livornese indimenticabile

Sono stato oggi a pranzo con un amico in questo locale. Ambiente molto molto pulito, ma più che altro cibo ottimo : ho preso risotto alle zucchine da 10 e soprattutto una quantità esagerata, mentre il mio amico ha preso della pasta condita con ragù di 3 tipi ed era tanta pure quella
A seguire abbiamo preso in 2 (visto che il primo era stato abbondante) pollo arrosto con patate buono pure quello
I prezzi sono onesti a vedere dal menù e sicuramente da tornarci

Cena con amiche . Location veramente azzeccata, piatti ben cucinati della vera tradizione Toscana, Cristina un ottima padrona di casa !
