This restaurant is just amazing. In the middle of the beautiful San Vito, the waiters are gentle, fast and attentive and the food is just fantastic. We had a dish with fish crudités to share, some capponata of aubergines (try it!) and as first dish me I had a tasty and delicious dish of pasta with truffe, cream of pecorino and raw shrimp....it's not cheap, but it deserves the price.

Buckle up, folks... Caught in an insane, biblical-level rainstorm, we found ourselves at L'Amuri looking for an aperitivo. They don't serve them (and also weren't open for another 45 minutes). We took shelter under the balcony of the house next door. But the rain just would not stop. After ten minutes, the staff took pity on us and said to come and have a glass of wine. Absolute stars! At that point we decided, knowing nothing about the restaurant, that we would also eat there, so we took a long look at the menu. Along with our wine, they brought us some delicious nuts and crisps/chips -- effectively the aperitivo we had been looking for.

This was our sixth night in San Vito, and we've been on a quest for the best busiate alla Norma, so we ordered that and also took a punt on the very interesting-sounding busiate al tonno in a pesto sauce of citrus fruits and aubergine/eggplant. Oh, mamma, che meraviglia! We've been swapping dishes halfway through most meals, to sample each others, but neither of us wanted to give up our respective meals here. We did each get a forkful, though, and Amuri's Norma is definitely the best in town so far.

The portions are also generous (possibly the largest we've had here), without being overwhelming. And without stuffing you so much that you can't fit a dessert. I opted for a cheesecake al fico d'India, because I love cheesecake and have never eaten prickly pear! This was also absolutely gorgeous, too. (As an aside, it was a shame this isn't made in-house, but it is at least from a small artisanal producer rather than some international goliath.)

This restaurant is a treat. It's smart looking and has won awards for its couscous, and it is staffed by young, friendly folks who help you feel right at home. Even without them going above and beyond for us, the food alone would be enough to get my five stars. The wine is also good stuff, though we ordered glasses only; these were pricier than most restaurants we've been to, but bigger pours.

Highly recommended. (And a huge thank-you to the staff.)

Excellent food! We went four times in a row :)
Wine selection perfectly completes the discovery of the region delights.

Don't miss the caponata, couscous and tiramisu. You cannot be wrong on your selection anyway.
My only advice: just try! It will be memorable no matter what.

Personale gentilissimo e molto accogliente.
