Locanda Cipriani

We came here for a dinner and were a bit late, the restaurant was about to get closed. The waiter was very polite and nice and asked us to choose the main meal fast and dessert + drinks could have been ordered later. Both service and the meal were exceptional. Surroundings, ambience, everything was just right, although we just came to dine without any special occasion. Loved every second of our stay and will recommend everyone to visit this fabulous place. Many thanks, will love to come back again! ❤

This restaurant feels a world away from the business of Venice. A tranquil location with views of the cathedral and orchards through large glass windows. It is impossible to give justice to the bucolic scenery. The food was superb. Of course the carpaccio was a standout as was my fish soup. In fact everything was so exceptional that we could not stop ordering. Plan to spend at least 2 hours savoring life here.

Lovely restaurant on Torcello. Started with their traditional bellinis and ended with white peach gelato. Tagiatelle was delicate and flavorful. Frito di pescari yummy. Make reservations ahead.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and it was absolutely incredible! We arrived at almost closing time for lunch and they were gracious enough to seat us in the outdoor gardens. The entire meal was perfect! The staff was wonderful and extremely attentive. The gardens were beautiful with amazing scenery. The food was delicious! One could sit here for hours enjoying the view. The entire experience was wonderful and I would highly recommend this restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about it!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The attention to detail, the quality of the ingredients and the service were faultless. The hotel has a fascinating history with many greats from Hemingway to Queen Elizabeth II to Chagall having dined or stayed here. Well worth a visit

It’s always worth the trip out to Locanda Ciprtiani: after a day or two of Venice a long lunch here is a welcome relief. Not so much about the food (it’s good though standard fare) as the slightly secret feeling of the place, the lovely garden, the sense of escape.

Fantastic! Located in the beautiful island of Torcello, you will have fine Italian cuisine, exquisite dishes, very professional and nice service. And if you have the chance to go there on a sunny day, you will be able to eat in the garden

What can you say... this has to be the best 5* plus restaurant we have ever been too and we have been lucky enough to visit many worldwide in our time. The food, the wine, the super friendly service was just a joy...and did I mention the location...fabulous.
Just sublime.... Just go... but you must book.

Over these nearly 12 years we have had the great good fortune to revisit the Locanda Cipriani every few years and our most recent stay was the perfect getaway.

The Locanda Cipriani has only a few rooms above the charming restaurant and gardens. It is an ideal location if one is seeking tranquility, peace and quiet.

Dining at this iconic jewel on the island of Torcello is always an excellent experience of culinary attention to detail and outstanding service.

The stillness and silence was only broken by songbirds flying above, and the occasional church bells ringing from the tower at the nearby Basilica of Santa Fosca. It was precisely the kind of "distacco" and separation from the world we were seeking.

The staff members at Locanda Cipriani are so very kind and I am deeply grateful for this unique treasure which brings us back to quieter, more elegant moments in time.

We look forward to a future visit.

What a lovely location, private boat droped us right in fromt of the Locanda, Belini as an apero and great lunch. Top service and food and wine. Rose garden with a view zo the old church. Great experience

Fabulous location, excellent food and lovely gardens. Attentive service. Quiet. Well worth the trip. The Cathedral has some beautiful Byzantine style mosaics. The campanile is inaccessible due to repair work.

Take a private boat ride & go for lunch. Stunning gardens, great wine list & menu. A must try to add romance to your trip. Absolutely loved it!

Totally blown away by this unassuming resto on a beautiful island. From the front this place doesn’t look much but as soon as you walk in the elegant staff and gardens are amazing. We were part of a large group celebrating a 40th. Our table was under the pergola in the garden. Starting with the most delicious aperol spritz on the lawn followed by three delicious courses and accompanied by Gavi. The staff were incredible. Our glasses were never empty and nothing was a bother. Utterly worth taking a boat out to the island for this resto.

A first class weekend experience: 20 minute water taxi ride, visit to the Torcello churches with their frescos and village courtyard and a beautiful four course meal plus limoncello of course. The ride home was a dream

Perfect spot for fantastic food in beautiful garden. Best meal I've had in Venice. Chose simple dishes that were done exceptionally well. Look forward to returning.

This is the place Hemingway wrote Across the River....... Seems is was a stylish place then and still is. Had been visited by the rich and famous ever since on there way to the Mosaics. Lady Di and Queenie with Phil the Greek (not the same time) to name some. Only regrets about giving this place a good review is it may make it popular and hence spoil it.

This is a unique place to stay at as well as to have lunch or dinner. Charming, friendly and beautiful. Locanda Cipriani, is one of the best experience you can possibly have while in Venice.

Had an absolutely amazing lunch here, but did not stay at the hotel. The island of Torcello also houses the only standing building from the first Venice.

Beautiful restaurant with almost perfect service and amazing food. Not bad for a town with 18 inhabitants. Also not cheap, but we felt it was worth it.

Fantastic property, great food, perfect location for an intimate meal. The only suggestion I would make to the management is to have a few more fans for the outside eating venue on the water.
