Rocca di Lucchio

A wonderful village to explore. The castle ruins are evocative, and the village is fascinating.

The road up is narrow but fine - just don’t let Google take you the back way through tbt mountains, as the last 20 mins are a tabby gravel and uphill (not at all suitable for my Fiat Panda!)

Metaphysical place! Not easy to reach, but absolutely worth the effort. The views from the top are breathtaking and yet so much different from what you might expect from Tuscan landscape.

First you have to drive a few km up the very steepy and narrow road, but since there are very few residents, the road is empty most of the time. Then once you park by the Antica fonte, there’s a 10-15 mins walk down the very silent village. To reach the top, just follow the track and signs that will take you to the Rocca di Lucchio. The very last part of the track is steep, so make sure to bring some proper shoes.

This little town and dilapidated castle are well worth the single track road drive up and then climb up to the top, fantastic mountain views and amazing little town perched Into the rocks!

Breathtaking. Short steep path to the former fort just above the village. Definitely recommended.

Posto fantastico, un salto nel medioevo e nella natura. Si arriva bene fino al bivio per Lucchio, poi la strada va via via stringendosi, comunque il fondo è buono e con un po' di accortezza ci si scambia. I posti al paese sono limitati, nei periodi di maggior affluenza potreste essere costretti a lasciarla molto prima. Ad ogni modo ne vale la pena! Guardate le foto...

La Rocca di Lucchio è un luogo che merita di essere visitato ma purtroppo al momento non è accessibile a tutti a causa dell'ultimo tratto della stradina che vi conduce partendo dal centro di Lucchio. Nel periodo estivo sia l'area esterna che quella interna sono scarsamente mantenute.

Paesino incantevole completamente abbarbicato sulla montagna che sovrasta la vallata della Lima che scende dall'Abetone, ormai ha pochissimi residenti ma la maggior parte delle abitazioni é ancora curata. Offre un panorama unico e salendo alla antica rocca si gode di una vista unica. Merita sicuramente una visita per chi ama paesi storici e paesaggi particolari....

Splendido panorama, che merita la breve salita. Dalle ultime case del borgo alla rocca sono 5 minuti di sentiero da farsi almeno con scarpe da ginnastica. Peccato che la rocca, risalente all'XI secolo, sia così poco valorizzata dall'amministrazione comunale. Fino al paese di Lucchio alto la strada è asfaltata di recente, anche se difficile scambiarsi, perché un po' stretta. Prima dell'ingresso al borgo c'è un piccolo parcheggio.

La rocca di Lucchio era una fortezza che serviva per difendere Lucca dagli Assedi dei Fiorentini. Nel 1600, si pensa, venne “smontata” per dar vita al borgo, spettacolare, di Lucchio.

Jeżeli jesteście w pobliżu to warto zboczyć z drogi i wjechać tu na górę.... naprawdę super widoki, wioska wygląda na opuszczoną, ale niektóre domu są wciąż zamieszkałe, nie ma problemu z parkingiem bo mało osób było w środku tygodnia, nie wiem jak w weekend,

Luogo bellissimo che offre una vista a 360 gradi sulla valle e sulle cime dell'appennino. Si arriva non proprio agilmente su di un sentiero a tratti piuttosto scosceso ma molto caratteristico ed affascinante. Da qui si ha anche una vista sul paese di Lucchio arroccato com'è hai piedi di ciò che rimane dell'antica rocca medievale. Una tappa obbligata per chi visita la zona, un luogo che definirei romantico.

Sind gerade auf Entdeckungstour durch Italien 🇮🇹, und haben auch Rocca di Lucchio besucht.
Ein sehr schönes Ausflugsziel und Bergdorf... muss man mal gesehen haben, wunderschön gelegen.

Ein Lost Place der anderen Art. Wir wagten den Aufstieg vom der unteren Straße. Gerade in der Mittagssonne sehr beschwerlich. Aber die Anstrengungen werden belohnt. Wunderschönes, altes Bergdorf Haus an Haus. Nur noch wenige Häuser davon bewohnt. Trotz der malerischen Aussicht. Für Rollstuhlfahrer und Menschen mit Gehproblemen leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Bellissimo Paese del passato abitato solo da una manciata di persone, camminare in questo vecchio borgo con solo i rumori della natura è affascinante, per chi vuole salire fino alla Rocca consiglio di usare scarpe da camminata o montagna.
All'inizio del paese si trova un circolo aperto (in estate) dove poter acquistare acqua ,gelati, panini.
