As a skipper I like this port as it is always calm and easy to enter. You are in the center of Portoferraio. Very good for sightseeing.

Great. Villa dei Mulini is cheap to enter. Old Town is full of trattoria's with delicious Italian food and wine. Salute!

Once you've seen the big three (Venice, Florence, and Rome).....you could slow the pace a bit & check out things a little less crowded. You wont regret it.
