We had wine tasting and dinner at Borgo Tre Rose. The wines were fantastic and had a really knowledgeable lady who explained do much.
Dinner was amazing..celebrating a special anniversary we sat at the end of the restaurant looking at the view of the grapes and then the full moon. Food was exceptional and service from Stanislao G made the evening more special. Thankyou

It’s a wonderful place to stay in Tuscany!
- Very nice spacious room with a magnificent view,
- Friendly staff, who allowed us to check-in later,
- Tasty and wide choice breakfast,
- Very beautiful territory,
- Fantastic restaurant,
- Big and comfortable parking.

In our room there was a trouble with plumbing, resulting in weak water pressure and difficulties in setting the temperature. But except for that everything was perfect

By far the most beautiful place I have ever been to! The room was okay but the view of the hills was breathtaking, to be fair who needs sleep when you are there?😂 The entire property is breathtaking, the dinner/breakfast area has panoramic views, the terrace has the most beautiful view of the sunset overlooking rolling hills. They have really great wine and pasta making classes that you have to book in advance for. Overall amazing stay. I HIGHLY recommend!!!!

We booked a little room with no window last minute over the phone and after just one night the bed was so hard that our backs were hurting, so they upgraded us to a gorgeous suite witha softer bed, overlooking the countryside, at no additional charge.

The true standout of our stay was the service. Everyone is so kind and accommodating, and we really enjoyed getting to know the staff during our stay.

The restaurant is hit or miss—pastas are good, meats are overcooked and flavorless. The breakfast was cold eggs and canned fruit or an assortment of pastries. We made due, but by no means was the food worth the price.

There are fun activities to take part in, like wine tasting and pasta making, and the views could not be beat. All in all, I’d definitely come back for a stay, but not for a meal.

Such an amazing retreat! Also the Borgo to us as we got married here which also did work out very well back in 2015! Only good things to say.

I cannot say enough good things about Borgo Tre Rose! This was easily the highlight of our trip to Italy.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Every meal we had was to die for. The grounds and surrounding scenery were stunning. But the pool is the gem of the property.

We weren’t sure what the price point on dinner would be however we were pleasantly surprised with how reasonable the prices were. Nightly dinner for two including a bottle of wine cost us between $50 and $85 euros. The 3 course nightly menu was $30 euro per person.

Our only regret was taking the train rather than renting a car. We would have loved to see Montepulciano and explored Tuscany further.

Dream location! We paid to have wine in the room upon arrival. We also paid for "half board," which was a three course dinner service. Pasta for appetizer, rabbit for main course, and mint cream with melon for dessert. Would definitely recommend coming back.

My husband and I stayed here while we were out in the area for our friends wedding! It was a fantastic experience with gorgeous views. From the friendly staff throughout the hotel to the delicious food. We loved every bit of it!

Unexpectedly nice and beautiful place, good bedroom with acclimatisation, clean and very good breakfast with plenty of options. Good wine also is available, one of the best I've ever had.

Wonderful panoramic view of the valley. Charming rooms, though on the smaller side... Then again, you shouldn't come here to stay inside.
They have an amazing and very wide variety breakfast. Dinner and lunch was also very tasty.
Great Hotel

We were the only guests for a very late lunch and tried our luck after seeing the beautiful Borgo Tre Rose from the road. We could not have been made more welcome. Delicious food and a glass of their own excellent wine with very friendly professional service all topped off with a bella vista. Perfetto!😎

Stayed here one night during a tour in September. Wish I had known about this beauty when I got married bc i would of gotten married there. This place is beautiful, I work for a travel agency and we always book our clients here. If you want a true taste of montepulciano this is where you should stay. Accommodations are excellent, each suite villa has its own character and theme. Lots of room with living room kitchen and bedrooms. Can get cold at night but heater works well, bit tricky to turn on but it works. Also, at night husband and I went for a walk, it’s sooooo dark so the stars are breath taking. U can see one car coming from miles away, just tiny winding headlights!! This place is a dream. Also, pool on site, wine tasting was great, restaurant and wine store on site too, I had pork medallions they were fine. We also had access to tour their winery down the road. This place is where you wanna stay if you’ve ever watched any charming Italian Tuscan movie LOL. I’m adding pics (the pics don’t do it justice) also ALL staff is SO KIND AND SWEET, they do their best to speak English so we got by. Great pricing for what your getting. I have an in-depth review on my website. I would recommend Borgo Tre rose to my friends and family. Can’t rave enough about them. Just FYI, no elevators should you rent a 2nd floor villa, will have to carry luggage up. (Common for Europe)

Bottom line up front: If you’re having trouble either deciding where to go or where to stay in Tuscany (Toscana), Borgo Tre Rose in Montepulciano answers both questions, hands down. Is there a way to give 6 out of 5 stars? And yes, we definitely plan on coming back -- and bringing friends!

Some of the finer details…

This hotel/restaurant/winery has it all. We booked the Borgo Tre Rose with the goal of finding an economical and beautiful place to stay, but had no idea what a complete package this place was.

The Views. I will do my best to post some of the best pictures, but ultimately, if you’re hear to see the rolling Tuscan hills, this hotel puts you smack dab in an incredible location. No matter where you turn, eye candy surrounds this entire resort.

The Room. For what we paid, I was expecting a nice bedroom and bathroom. Instead, we got a full suite. Dining room, living room, bathroom, bedroom, hallways, and a cute little hidden kitchen. Oh, and not one, but two balconies with double doors that opened wide enough to flood the joint with beautiful Tuscan sunlight.

The Grounds. This place has clearly invested a small fortune in plant life. The entire estate (which is what it is, an estate) is covered in flowers, lush bushes, olive trees, persimmons, pomegranate trees, and more. No matter where you go, you’re surrounded in lush greenery. It’s truly incredible.

Restaurant. We did not rent a car so we were essentially “trapped” on site for the majority of our stay. As such, we had breakfast and dinner at the resort restaurant every day during our stay. Breakfast was a pretty standard European spread, which also included (most importantly) American-style coffee and no-charge specialty coffees to order (cappuccino, espresso, etc.). Every dinner meal we ate ranged from delicious to incredible -- with plenty of vegetarian options. We had a full meal with one or two glasses of wine every evening and escaped for right around €50 for 2 people (which blew my mind a little).

The Wine. They offer tastings of course, and sell the wine that they grow on site and/or make nearby (or on site?). Although we love wine, we are not connoisseurs so feel free to do more research if this is a critical factor related to your decision making. Of all their wines we tried, all were enjoyable. We did not realize the extent of their wine operations before we arrived, so we actually did more wine tasting in the town of Montepulciano nearby on a scheduled tour.

Other Things...

The pool was amazing. Large, plenty of comfortable and well-maintained lounge chairs. The bathrooms were even incredible. Very modern, clean, and perhaps even too much or too nice considering it was just a pool-access toilet. But hey, anything worth doing is worth overdoing, I guess.

Wireless Internet. The whole resort is a wireless hotspot, so you can access the internet literally everywhere. Probably not something that should be a priority, especially given the incredible views, etc. But hey, what good is a seeing all this awesomeness if you can’t facebrag a little with some incredible instagram shots. Right?

Just about everyone we encountered was incredible friendly. Certainly humans are humans and not everyone can be your best friend, but all of the staff made us feel very welcome and completely at home.

Thanks to everyone at the Borgo Tre Rose for making this trip of a lifetime and we hope to see you again some time in the future!
