Europcar Catania Aeroporto

Smooth pick up and return. New clean cars in great condition. Friendly service. The deposit was returned quickly. The reviews seem very negative and are probably fake but the experience was actually great.
It would be nice to put a sign in the airport as we Europcar is NOT in terminal as advertised but 600m outside the terminal building and we had to ask around to find it.

Europcar is good. We got scammed by Surprise Car Rentals and DoYouItaly. We were glad that there is a serious business like Europcar present at Catania Airport. Their insurance is too pricey though, so we booked via an online platform with cheaper insurance. We also paid 128€ for an upgrade from the cheapest option to a brand new automatic compact SUV. Returning the car was uncomplicated. They released the blocked deposition after 5 days.

We rented a car for 7 days and everything went smooth and we had no problems whatsoever.
We live within the EU so all that we needed to pick up our car was an ID card, drivers license and credit card.
If you live outside the EU please note that an international driving license and passport might be needed. If unsure contact Europcar and check that to avoid problems on spot.
The reprensentatives at the front desk speak english very good so there where no problems understanding their instructions and suggestions. We also took the premium car insurance which is recommended since driving in Sicily, especially in the cities can be chaotic and you need pay attention to other drivers a lot.
We got a brand new car with barely over 1000km on the clock which had Apple/Android car so we connected and used our phones for navigation. There are some speed traps in Sicily and police radars so I suggest you get the app called “Waze” and use it for navigation as it shows police radars, speed traps and other things like works or broken cars on the map reported by other users.
Car return was also smooth - our flight was at 5:45am and since the office is closed at that time you just park the car on the Europcar designated parking spots on the airport and drop the key into a keybox. Also note that the entrance gate to the parking opens at 4am (at least in May when we travelled it was the case), so it wasn’t possible to drop off the car earlier.
Alltogether it was a good experience and I would use Europcar again.

Very happy to have rented a car here (but over ADAC). Had to wait a bit to pick up the car, but nowhere near as long as with others. They were respectful and friendly. The car was in really good condition. Returning it was straightforward, quick, and there were no issues. Would gladly rent here again!

Friendly staff and new cars that are clean. Europcar is in a building outside of the airport, so maybe you could bring a sign on, because other car rental agencies are in the airport

I had forgotten a coat in the trunk of the vehicle when I returned it. I contacted Europcar Catania airport: they were able to find it and efficiently helped me find a solution to ship it to my home in Belgium. A big thank you in particular to the professionalism and efficiency of Ms. Carla Colantoni.

We hired in June 2022, and we were very pleased with the service on collection of the car as even though they didn't have what we'd ordered, they upgraded us and it was a nice car. There was even a helpful guy there to check the car on return. Good service, helpful and friendly.

My booking over the phone was quick and smooth, receiving thorough information. In Catania airport the check-in on 7th June afternoon was smooth too and the desk assistant was professional and friendly. Only negative note is that Europcar adopts a controversial policy whereby, despite going for full cover, in some Italian regions (Campania and Puglia) and in the only city of Catania in Sicily you won't be covered for car theft. I cannot see why clients have to suffer for something that is beyond their responsibility. Apart from this absurd and discriminating rule, I highly recommend Europcar.

Totally forgot to post my comment, we came in early september and Viviana from this place SAVED out trip. We were both 18 and she got us a car last minute and not only a car but an Audi Q3!! Huge thanks to this women, Viviana!!!!! She spoke an amazing english which was relieving and even some french. She really took her time with us and found us the BEST deal.

Many forum relate problems with catania aeroport rental companies. I followed the advise from one of them : taking europcar with rentalcar full insurance. Maybe taking an addintionnal insurance with europcar would have been better but the cost was important, more than 50% of the location cost. The car restitution was efficient and without trouble, I was not charge for any imaginary dammage as it look to occur with other companies. So I would recommand Europcar for this destination.

Dropped off car here. Very smooth experience. Clear signage helped us find the lot. It’s tucked behind Sicily by Car.

Easy, good price, good car cheap on gas, everything you could want on vacation.

Only problem we had was getting the car back into the parking lot... The signs are not very clear, but the employees were helpful and patient with us, as we tried to understand how to enter the parking lot at the airport...
