Im 8. Jh. baute der Hl. Korbinian wahrscheinlich an dem Platz, wo das gegenwärtige Gotteshaus steht, eine Kirche. Das Kirchlein wurde im 12. Jh. im romanischen Stil restauriert. An das alte Langhaus baute man im 15. Jh. einen gotischen Chor mit Netzgewölbe und Spitzbogenfenstern an. Das Schiff erhielt 1615/16 ein Tonnengewölbe und wurde in der Mitte des 19. Jh. nach Westen verlängert. Die Südwand der Kirche zieren Fresken aus dem Ende des 14. Jh.

Ist uns zuerst beim Blick vom Maiser Walweg zur anderen Talseite aufgefallen ! Haben dann bei Gelegenheit diese Kirche bei einem Spaziergang für einige besinnliche Minuten besucht und waren begeistert von den erhaltenen Fresken und dem schönen Inneren !
