I’m new to Gondola cruising in Venice. That being said, I was disappointed in this experience. In my mind, I had as a gondola ride, two people in a gondola with the gondolier, being interactive and informative, going along one of the sleepy, and non-busy canals in Venice, and this gondola experience was none of that. It was along the grand Canal, which was busy, choppy, full of other boats, and we had another gondola that literally went the entire route with us filled with four people and our gondola also had four people.
In reading the reviews for this cruise, they did provide what was advertised, but it was literally a Single direction back-and-forth 30 minute ride on a busy grand Canal the gondolier was totally nonexistent in that he never spoke, and constantly chatted with his gondolier partner that was in the other gondola. For $45 I would’ve expected much more. Again, I am a novice at this, but if you are going to rent a gondola, you may want to try one of the ones where the canal is the smaller or intimate canal and avoid this one. Just for a single ride 30 minute sunset cruise it was what we paid for but it was not as I expected. Very disappointed.
