Segesta Parcheggio Area Archeologica

I visited the Segesta Site yesterday the 18th of June 2019. I had read all the whining reviews about the free car park at entrance that drivers were being directed away from, and decided to test this.
I drove straight to the front gate of the site carpark. I was stopped by a uniform security guard... This car park at site entrance is for disabled drivers or archaeological site staff and is also the drop off point for the shuttle bus. all the cars parked here have staff or disabled passes displayed on their dashboards.
I was then politely directed to the tourist carpark at bottom of hill.
The facilities at the car park (toilets etc.) are free and clean. 5 euros to park car, free bus shuttle to (and return) site entrance every 15 mins (prompt)
The archaeological park was immaculately clean, there are bins for different variations of rubbish everywhere.
The tourist car park, the shuttle and the site were efficiently run and clean, the staff were friendly … using all available shuttles, you can (at a leisurely amble) see everything in under 3 hours. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Bit confusing, it works well in theory.
We drove to the carpark at the entrance of the exhibit and were told we had to leave the car back at the main carpark. Where we then paid to ride the bus back to the first carpark.
Suppose that's one way of accumulating funds. The carpark is apparently secure and has a really good cafe and a couple of little souvenir places.

Parking costs 5 Eur, you leave the car and take the bus to the site. I think its reasonably priced, since the shuttle bus is free. Amazing site.

It's a car park, the terrain is a bit rough, but theres a cafe and souvenir shop and the bus stops here to take you to the temple etc.

There is a bar, serving drinks and food, toilets and very friendly staff. Very pleasant experience, thank you.

Abbiamo fatto il tour di 3 ore con il buggy. Esperienza fantastica tra vigneti, oliveti e campi di meloni. Giorgio e Marco, le nostre guide, sono due ragazzi preparati e molto simpatici. Abbiamo fatto un bel bagno alle acque termali calde e ripreso il cammino per andare ad ammirare lo splendido tempio di Segesta. A chi si trova in vacanza e non solo, in Sicilia, lo consiglio vivamente. È assolutamente un'esperienza da vivere. Grazie Giorgio e Marco

Achtung: es gibt 2 Parkplätze - Google hat mich zu dem einen gelotst, welcher aber geschlossen war (Nebensaison). Leider dort ohne einen Hinweis auf den anderen Parkplatz, welcher sogar nur ca 100m vom Tempel entfernt ist und eigentlich besser gelegen ist. Google zeigt ihn aber auch an.

Un așezământ grecesc restaurat excelent. Trebuie vizitat.

Eine sehr schöne Tempel Anlage, wenn man schon in Sizilien ist sollte man sich für das Zeit nehmen.

Ottimi servizi, personale preparato e disponibile. Ottimo bar con spremute e prodotti tipici. Raro esempio di luogo turistico ben gestito in Sicilia.

Essendo non più accessibile il parcheggio posto a lato della biglietteria ora per visitare l'area archeologica bisogna sostare qui.
Noi con il ns camper abbiamo pagato 7 euro ed abbiamo avuto la possibilità di pernottare.
Nel costo del parcheggio è compresa la navetta che ti porta all'ingresso del parco, attiva dalle 9 di mattina con frequenza ogni 10 - 15 minuti. Buono il servizio.
Carini anche i negozi e il bar gelateria presenti nel parcheggio.

Leggo con sommo dispiacere la recensione di una guida turistica che invita i visitatori a parcheggiare in un'area non autorizzata e per di più inibita a tale scopo dalla Sovrintendenza. Questo mi dispiace non solo perchè è fuorviante ma anche perchè fa capire quanto il soggetto non sia dotato della minima professionalità ovvero sia ignorante dello status quo effettivo o altre ipotesi che non ritengo necessario qui riportare. Invito questo operatore a modificare la sua recensione perchè comunque lesiva dei legittimi interessi della società Nuovi Sistemi edili Srl. Grazie
