Strada della Forra

Amazing drive, beautiful views of the lake, tunnels are amazing. The gorge us gorgeous. There are a few single lane signals si u have to wait till they turn green for a linger time than u would want. But its worth the wait. Watch out for cyclists, pedestrians and people taking fotos in the middle of the road, specially around the gorge.

Fabulous, great experience on a Vespa, which I hired for the day, or a motorcycle.
It's definitely a must for anyone visiting Lake Garda.

A beautiful road with a view of Lake Garda. I recommend that novice drivers do not travel here. The roads are very narrow in places and it is easy to scrape the car.

Very nice road to drive. In June there was not queues at all. 10.00-19.00 it is only one way road to up. So you can't come down by the same road.

You do not need to be James Bond 007 driving an Aston Martin. You could just be yourself driving your car, your bicycle or even walking to enjoy one of the most beautiful and breathtaking mountain roads there is. The turnoff is just 9km outside of the town of Limone where the fun begins. During the summer time most part of the road is a one-way street so you do not need to worry about the oncoming traffic.

Crazy little roadways, but worth the drive to experience the Italian country roads and spectacular views! This gorge was a pretty cool little spot in seemingly the middle of nowhere.

Th way is exciting, in high season could be challenging, however winter time is perfect to enjoy almost alone and stop where you want. By the tunnel if you catch the only place to park, you can find a great walking way on the side even if it is not really allowed to go there, only on your risk (due to risky rock falling down). Highly recommended to visit!

I was fortunate that the road reopened just 2 days before my visit to the region and after going uphill towards Tremosine only one word comes to mind: Wow!

The road fully deserves the title of the most beautiful road on Lake Garda, if not wider.
Not surprised at all that Winston Churchill called it the 8th wonder of the world.

Fun driving this route. It's from a James Bond movie. There's a lot of people on this road; either driving a car, motorcycle or walking so pay attention. It is a narrow road but it is no more difficult to drive than the country roads here so don't be afraid you will get stuck here if you are not to comfortable with navigating tight spaces (there were even some small coaches driving this road). It is also just a short road so you will be through in I guess about 15 - 20 minutes. What other reviewers forget to mention and is IMPORTANT to understand is; this is NOT a one way road ENTIRELY; only up to a certain point (café/restaurant in a gorge), from that point expect oncoming traffic as the road widens!!! Otherwise you will be in for quite a startle and/or a crash around the next corner.

The driving direction of the one way stretch changes at certain hours so depending on what time you go you might find the road closed at one end (check website for more details). Obviously you can not use the one way road to get back so once you get to Pieve, set your navigation to Limone first (this is also a very nice town so you might want to include a visit to your itinerary).

Must go place for motorcycles. Road and views are great!

The drive through the Strada della Forra is a must do!
It’s a one way so it’s not that big of a deal with a bigger car.
U should bring time tho, because some people are slower than others and taking over is not rlly an option…

Summer Hours: till Novembre 2023 the street follow partial closure: from 10.00 till 19.00 the street is one way, going upwards form Gardesana Street to Tremosine.
The street is spectacular, anche the restaurants in the Forra are great too!

If you are a motorbike rider, this is something you definitely need to visit.

This is definitely one of the most spectacular roads in Europe.
You're riding (driving) inside the mountain and caves many times and you can stop in many restaurants and cafeterias along the way.

Fantastic driving road albeit the roads are very tight. Your rewarded by the views at the top and some pleasant cafes at the top. I recommend the cafe opposite the car park. Great food and drink!
