Pasticceria Maria Grammatico

Our breakfast visit did not disappoint. It was hard to select which mouth-watering pastry to have with our espressos but the ricotta tart and ricotta filled pastry were delicious. Aside from the sweets there was a nice variety of other regional specialties to take home, like pistachio pesto. Most eye-catching are the realistic marzipan arranged in baskets as you just walk in.

What can I say? It's just delicious and sinful and full of sweet goodness! They only have 3-4 tables for dine in so you are better off getting take away and enjoying the sweet treats at the park

Delicious sweets and pastries at this historical pasticceria. We enjoyed them on the big and beautiful terrace, under the old trees. And if you are lucky (as we were), you can even see Signora Grammatico behind the counter 😉

As George W Bush would say, albeit incoherently, these guys are "evil doers". They are marzipan confectioners, but not in the Lübeck German sense. In Germany, there is restraint (go figure). Here, they let the sugar run as free as that Amazon slave trader shooting into space (yeah, he came back...there is no god). So, like every dessert I've ever had in Italy, you have to be aware of eating sweets before driving. You may indeed fall into a sugar coma as you traverse the byways...It's a thing. But the reason you'll get close to needing insulin shots for life, is because the good places make it taste so Sophia Loren good (I'm told). The special tart, pictured here mid demolition, packed the pastry, almond, sugar concerto, with enough rum to fall over onto the smooth cobblestone paths.
Evil doers indeed. Proceed with caution, but proceed you must.

it's not cheap but it tastes great. buy 2x to enjoy another day at the beach.

Best bakery in Erice if not the entire Sicily. An old recipes dating back several hinders of years. Must try the ugly looking great sweets

Some of the best sweets you can find in this region. Really delicious 😋 the crostata with ricotta just melts in your mouth and the genovesi and cassatedde are so creamy and fresh. ❤❤

Nice place for the typical Erice pastries, the almond milk was a nice accompaniment. We went back later for the almond and lemon granitas. We even met Maria herself.

Beautiful café right on the main street in Erice. I definitely recommend cannolo al pistacchio and genovesi 👌🏼 It was amazing!

A must try when in Erice, everything looks and tastes delicious but we especially loved the maritozzo (I think here they call it "graffa")

Very friendly staff and amazing sweets and very good coffee. Definitely I recommend to take Genovese - it’s Erice speciality and it is amazing. Nice place to sit on the garden downstairs.
