Relais La Corte Dei Papi

We had a wonderful stay at Corte Dei Papi. The staff upgraded our room free of charge when we arrived and were always available and helpful whenever we needed anything. The owner served us during dinner and informed us about their top notch wines that they produce themselves. The food and wine were delicious and fairly priced in their cozy and atmospheric restaurant. I cannot recommend this place enough if you’re planning a trip to Tuscany!

What a fantastic vacation my husband and I had at this beautiful property. They had everything and more that we could have hoped for. From their spacious beautiful suites to their gourmet dinners. David and his team went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They even arranged for us a winery tour with a driver that took us all over Tuscany. I’m looking forward to coming back to this upscale Tuscany experience.

Relais La Corte Dei Papi was the final leg of our 3-stop Italian honeymoon, and we truly could not have ended on a more superb note. Our first impression was complete awe, as the grounds were lush and stunning, even in late October.

The service was impeccable, David the owner is so kind and welcoming, and the front desk staff is incredibly helpful, especially Greta. They made restaurant and car reservations for us, and everything was exceptional.

The story of this property is lovely, and the rooms were incredibly clean. I can't recommend this hotel enough, you won't be disappointed.

We had a great stay with great service. The rooms were tastefully decorated with a clever combination of antique and modern elements, which gives the hotel a unique charm.
The service is top notch and we would like to thank David in particular who is always attentive to his guests.
In addition the food is excellent, one of the best we have tasted during our stay.

Our stay here was SUPERB. The setting is gorgeous with impeccable landscaping and well adorned rooms. We felt like we were staying in a castle. David, the owner, saw to it that every need was attended to. He creates a welcoming atmosphere of casual luxury. When we arrived, we had not eaten lunch, and he arranged for a delicious platter of local meats and cheeses. Their restaurant is one of the finest in the area, with top notch service and unique dishes with fresh local ingredients. Breakfast in our suite quickly became a staple. We brought our little dog, and they went out of their way to accommodate him. It’s the perfect place for a dog with plenty of room to run around safely off leash. David was a knowledgeable and gracious host and concierge and helped arrange transportation and reservations at nearby restaurants. We will return.

There are not enough words to describe how much we loved our stay this past May, but I’ll try to highlight a few!

1. The ambiance of this entire villa is stunning! It’s a converted farm and it has every Tuscan charm you can’t think of. We stayed in the coach house - it was cozy, comfortable and so romantic. Bed was comfortable and just enough space for 2.

2. The food - the breakfast was wonderful and every pastry was delicious. Loved the meats and cheese offerings. We ate every morning on the terrace by the pool, which was so charming. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner a few times - it rivals Michelin star restaurant experiences we’ve had! Carefully curated - it was a lovely experience. Warning, if you order the steak, make sure you come with an appetite - it’s incredibly generous in size.

3. The wine. The owner of the villa MAKES THE WINE AND IT’S INCREDIBLE. We travelled all over Italy and his wine was the only wine we brought back to Canada. On top of that, he commissioned an artist to create the labels - each style of wine with its own unique painting. Each painting is of a different family member on their respective horses. These little details showcase the care they have for their patrons experience!

4. The service - I can’t express how well cared for we were during our stay. When we arrived, we immediately went to the pool and the owner personally delivered us some wine. You can just tell how much pride he takes in this villa and it definitely set the tone for our experience.

5. This would be the PERFECT place for a wedding - the grounds are stunning and beautifully maintained. The rooms are beautiful. The service is amazing. If I could plan my wedding again - I would definitely book it here.

There is so much more to say, but we cannot wait to come back again! This was the highlight of our trip to Italy!!

Absolutely fantastic hotel, so beautiful from the exterior and interior. You have breakfast with piano music in the background, in a gorgeous garden with the most amazing food. Beautiful rooms too and lots of easy parking. Special thanks to David who saved us last minute when we needed a place to stay last minute.

Can’t thank David and his wonderful staff for making our few days in Cortona so lovely. We came at the start of the season. David handled our local tour guide and dinner reservations up on the hill. Our birthday dinner at the hotel was also incredible-do not pass on the dessert list. We ordered one of everything and had no regrets.

It is with great pleasure to share our experience at Relais La Corte Dei Papi. We stayed here for 4 nights and we didn’t want to leave. Everything about it exceeded our expectations. The owner, David and his staff were very kind, attentive and hard working. The food and wine were fabulous. The rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped with a large Turkish spa and steam shower. The gardens were extensive. Close proximity to Cortona, a cute town in the hillside.

We stayed at this beautiful place for 5 nights and it was absolutely incredible! Every aspect was great; the hotel, the location, the service, and the food was fantastic. There were a lot of day trip options available, thanks to David for the recommendations. The old town of Cortona was a must see!! The hospitality was over the top - shout out to David! He is a master of his craft.

Our family of five spent several days here as a base to explore Tuscany, it was absolutely wonderful in every way. David and his staff were incredibly gracious, friendly, and attentive from the moment we arrived. (They whipped up a "simple" late lunch for our starving kids which turned out to be a gorgeous antipasti feast). The grounds are impeccably maintained, and along with the beautiful rooms and restored buildings we felt like we were in a shoot for a travel magazine. At the end of the day though it's the hospitality of David and staff though that really made it extra-special. We hope to return.

We stayed two nights here. Great in suite spa and a supremely generous and cheerful owner and staff. They work incredibly hard to make the guests happy. We had a great time and you will too. Hot tip Corona in the evenings was our favorite town of six in Italy, with unforgettable sunsets. Be sure to turn on the hot tub early if you want to use it. Thank you David!

We can’t express how thankful we are to David and his team. Firstly we would like to say thank you for providing us with an incredible venue for our elopement with only 24 hours notice after we had issues with another hotel. Secondly we would like to express our gratitude for the incredible flowers you organised and for creating the perfect space for us to get married. I can not recommend this place enough , whether it be the incredible service, the attention to detail, the beautiful food or the outstanding hospitality you are truly providing an exceptional service. We will without a doubt be returning next year on our visit to Tuscany and look forward to seeing everyone again.

A unique place full of charm and captivating from the first moment you reach it.
The place belongs to and is run by the kind and warm De Papi family and provides a first-class reception and hospitality.
Apart from the uniquely designed rooms that are equipped with various indulgences such as an aromatherapy shower, sauna and Jacuzzi, the design and preservation of the buildings is commendable and amazing. And the experience is complemented by an amazing restaurant with a spectacular and exceptional local Tuscan menu.

This is an amazing place to stay. The host, David, is the most cordial person you could meet and he is the owner with his mother. He even delivered our coffee early one morning. The grounds are beautiful. Our room was the best room I think I have ever had. The food was excellent as was his wine. David arranged our daily excursions which we saw a variety of wineries and beautiful towns rich in history - almost unbelievable what we saw. You must visit this place.

We stayed for 5 nights and used this beautiful hotel as a base for touring Tuscany. David, the proprietor, greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour and told us about the history and that this was his family home where he grew up. The grounds are beautiful and lush and so well maintained. Hydrangeas and roses are everywhere, with beautiful trees as well.
Besides the beauty the reason this is such an amazing hotel is that David has his hands in every aspect of it and is always there, always working. We actually asked him if he ever slept becasue he was always around. Every detail is taken care of. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. If you are looking for a beautiful and unusual dinner for the Tuscan area try his restaurant. This menu is served in the manner of an elegant tasting menu and in an idyllic garden setting not to be matched.

This facility is incredibly beautiful and relaxing.. the food.. the food is some of the best you will eat in the entire country. The staff, especially the owner David, is the definition of hospitality and service. I could tell you several stories of how they went out of their way to make our trip special doing everything from expedited laundry service, to late night meals when plans fell through. This facility should be in absolutely everyones itinerary and you'll talk about it the rest of your days.

La Corte Dei Papi is an elegant converted family farmhouse located near Cortona. David, the owner was so kind and gracious. He treated you like he was inviting you into his home, which is exactly what he was doing. The farmhouse has been owned by his family for generations. We are so thankful that he has opened it up to guest. The grounds are lovely. David's mother keeps up the beautiful gardens. The pool and outside breakfast area were very nice.

Our initial impression when we entered the room was that it was dark. The shutters (yes shutters) were closed and the drapes and bed spread were heavy and dark. However, when the shutters were opened and the top bed spread was removed, it was much brighter. The room was decorated with old (or old looking), but elegant Italian furniture that drew you back in time. The room our travel agent reserved was fairly small. We would have definitely booked the larger room or one of the detached cottages if we had made the reservations on our own.

David's staff was terrific. They were very kind and helpful. They booked a private cooking class with Matteo Sciarri, owner and chef at Restaurant Ambrosia which was in the hill town of Cortona. What a great experience! In addition, they booked an all day wine tour that included visits to three wineries in Montepulciano and Montalcino. Another great day; and, our driver, Albino was adorable.

They served a terrific buffet style breakfast each morning that included a wide selection of pastries, meat, cheese, freshly baked bread, etc. We ate by gardens and pool. It was a lovely setting and the wait staff was terrific.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night. It was one of the best dinners on our trip. David served his family produced Prosecco and Nobile di Montepulciano. Both were terrific. My wife thought the Prosecco was the best she had ever tasted. We ordered bottles of the Nobile and Prosecco to be shipped home. We are still enjoying them at home and it brings back warm memories of David and the hotel.

I highly recommend that you stay at the the La Corte Dei Papi hotel and enjoy the charm and elegance of this Tuscan farmhouse resort.

David and his team exceeded all of our expectations. The property is beautiful, the rooms are wonderful, the restaurant is top notch, but the service is even better than all of that. Stay here for an unforgettable Tuscany experience.
