Rifugio Lanzagallo

The initial visit occurred during the summer, returning to the region in the winter, where we had the pleasure of experiencing "Rifugio Lanzagallo," proved to be a truly captivating experience. The vernacular architecture, skillfully adapted and adorned by Daniela, along with the warmth and hospitality of both Daniela and her companion Istvan, the mild climate, and the flourishing natural surroundings all contributed to a rejuvenating getaway for us.

Our vacation at Rifugio Lanzagallo was even more beautiful than we could have imagined.
The whole property is so beautiful and the homemade breakfast is fantastic - the perfect combination of sweet and savory and prepared with so much love and passion for detail. The hosts are super nice and gave us wonderful culinary and cultural tips for this area of Sicily. We definitely want to come back - the memory of our vacation is such a wonderful souvenir!

A true refuge. We visited in June 2023 for our elopement and Daniela and Istvan made it completely unforgettable. From breakfast that will make you excited for morning to afternoons lounging under the trees, the environment whisks you into relaxation. Our time at Lanzagallo was perfectly punctuated by laughter, aperitivo, adventure, and connection. We felt so supported and celebrated through every detail. Not to mention the exquisitely curated recommendations that make finding the best meals in the area an effortless task. I'm so happy I trusted my instincts and planned our time in Sicily around staying here. Trust us, it is even better in person. Thank you both for everything. We hope to visit for many anniversaries to come!

Love this place! We had 7 wonderful days at Lanzagallo last year, and we would definitely repeat. The changing breakfast is fresh and regional. We really enjoyed it. The backyard is very beautiful and has enough space for having a peaceful time. The outdoor kitchen is also really fun and has all the stuff you need for dinner. Also, some fresh herbs from the garden.

We had a wonderful week at Rifugio Lanzagallo and left with heavy hearts. It is truly a haven that exudes pure peace and tranquillity! This beautiful rural accommodation is set on a hill overlooking the sea and is enveloped by a large garden with pool. There was cosy seating at every corner and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen.

Daniela and Alessandra sweetened the start of the day with a great breakfast of fresh local produce. Their homemade tarts and cakes were wonderful!
We also had wonderful dinners in nearby towns thanks to a great guide that Daniela and Istvan lovingly created.

Big thanks to both of them for creating something wonderful and sharing their little paradise with us. We will be back again!

We had the most wonderful time staying at Rifugio Lanzagallo, Daniela has created a beautiful hideaway and a place where you have an instant feeling of being home and welcome. The rooms and the whole property are stunning, a great mix of modern and historic elements, the always-changing breakfast is yummy, and we also got the best recommendations from Daniela for local restaurants and experiences.

Lanzagallo's location is also perfect: You can reach a nice sandy beach in a couple of minutes and beautiful old baroque towns such as Modica, Ragusa, and Scicly are just a short drive away. We also visited Noto and Syracuse from there.

Finally, we really enjoyed a dinner that was organized at Lanzagallo and sampled authentic Sicilian food and drinks. This was not only delicious but also a great opportunity for us to get to know some of the other guests a bit better.

Overall, there's really nothing to criticize and we will definitely be back!

Rifugio Lanzagallo is an absoult special and unique place. The rifugio has everything to offer for a great and relaxed visit. Its location is perfect to visit beautiful beaches, historical cities and stunning natural parks. In the mornings, the breakfast is an absolut highlight and in the evening, the place offers a great atmosphere to use the outdoor kitchen to at least try to cook nearly as good as so much of the great restaurants in the region.

Next to the beautiful rifugio itself, where everything is of so much love for the detail, it is the people, that made our visit so special. The hosts and team are always forthcoming and have great local tips and recommendations.

For everyone, who is thinking about visiting siciliy, Rifugio Lanzagallo will make you visit special.

Refugio Lanzogallo was the highlight of our trip to Sicily. Loving and helpful hosts in the most tasteful accommodation. Every detail just perfect, from the breakfast table to the rooms to the lovingly designed garden with outdoor kitchen and large pool. It doesn't get any better than that. A stroke of luck for every guest when he finds you.

We spent 2 weeks at Rifugio Lanzagallo and had a wonderful holiday! Daniela and Istvan are such friendly and warm people, they make you feel like home and provide the best tips about places to visit in the neighborhood. We started everyday with a tasteful local breakfast prepared by Giuseppe, relaxed in the beautiful garden with a pool until noon, and explored the area for the rest of the day. Its strategic position gives you possibility to discover the whole Ragusa area from there.

On top of that, Daniela made an amazing job with the design of Rifugio Lanzagallo. The typical rough Sicilian architecture accompanied with modern metal elements and local wooden decorations make visiting this place an experience itself.

We had a very pleasant stay at Rifugio Lanzagallo. It is a very authentic, well designed, quite and lovely place where you can really come to rest. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. In the morning there is a rich Sicilian breakfast served that leaves nothing to be desired. The owners Daniela and Istvan are very friendly, communicative and share great tips for restaurants, beaches and other things to explore in the area. You‘ll definitely need a car to get to the location but that also offers you the opportunity to visit the beautiful small towns (Modica, Ragusa, Scicli,…) around within 20 driving minutes.

We had such a lovely time at Lanzagallo. Daniela welcomed us into the calm and beautiful space she created. At the great breakfast every morning we chatted with other guests and with Daniela to receive the best tips about trips and restaurants in the neighborhood. At the common area there is a relaxed atmosphere, almost family like. The room was clean, with stunning design and the soaps all organic and natural. We enjoyed relaxing (or napping..) in the green (!) garden under the trees to escape the hot sun, take a swim, catch the cooling breeze and sometimes cooked outside at the outdoor kitchen which is great to balance out the nights eating out. We loved the calm and quiet surroundings, we really were able to refuel our energy. We will definitely be back, maybe with the whole family next time!

My partner and I had a spectacular stay at Rifugio Lanzagallo. We spent a week there and there was no shortage of things to do around this wonderful corner of Sicily. Many towns and beaches to explore nearby though much of our time was spent relaxing on the beautiful property. Daniela and Ishtvan create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you quickly feel at home. They prepare a delicious breakfast every morning with local ingredients. I would highly recommend spending at least one night having dinner there — some of the best food we had in Sicily! We cannot wait to go back!

I feel so lucky knowing this beautiful place exists on the planet. I spent 5 days late summer 2022 with friends. We were overwhelmed by the beauty, the calm and the good taste in every little detail. Before arriving, we have planned to dine out, but the Rifugio was so wonderful that we didn't want to leave the premises, so we ended up making our own dinner every night in the outdoor kitchen. I will never forget these nights, talking, eating and drinking good italian wine under the stars.

We had an amazing time at rifugio lanzagallo. The love that is put into the property by Daniela and Istvan is to be seen everywhere. We had a very relaxing time and we did not even have to research where to eat or what to visit, as they had wonderful recommendations for us! Also: We got the best breakfast we ever had.

What a wonderful place to stay in one of Sicily's most beautiful regions. A true 'home away from home'. Owner Daniela is the perfect host: warm, thoughtful and at the same time in the background. The ' rifugio' is the perfect combination of old and new. The rooms are spacious and attractive. There is a big pool. The shower and the bed could not be better. The breakfast is delicious. And the location is a nice mix of rural, city and beach.

We are obsessed with Lanzagallo and we cannot wait to return! We stayed for three nights and we felt completely welcomed and cared for. The breakfast is stunning, the grounds are gorgeous and the hosts are the most interesting, beautiful people. We especially loved the ancient olive tree and the huge carob tree. It is a peaceful beautiful mix of old and new in all the best ways. We miss Daniela and Istvan already and I am dreaming about the yogurt with pistachio cream! Grazie!

We recently spent a week at Rifugio Lanzagallo under the very caring watch of Daniela and Istvan. It is truly a special place, and it's obvious the love and attention they have put into it. The property itself is effortlessly stunning. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, and the outside areas provide everything you'd need from lounge chairs under a carob tree to an immaculate saltwater pool.

The food at the rifugio was the best we ate in Sicily, so don't skip out on dinner on the outside patio. Both Daniela and Istvan were so generous and attentive throughout our stay, offering suggestions for restaurants, beaches, excursions whenever we asked.

We will certainly be back -- with any luck, again later this year.

Rifugio Lanzagallo is such a magical unique place. Daniela and Istvan are the most wonderful, kind and gracious people who have made something quite special. The design is impeccable, one of the best places I have seen with cozy lounges, lots of thoughtful touches, fig and carob trees amid sun baked beige stone and wonderful salt pool for relaxing dips. We cannot wait to return!

we just spent some days at Lanzagallo this June and we really felt like in paradise!

Daniela and Istvan are the most lovely people and really made us feel like home from the very beginning. With many helpful information, always present - never obtrusive, lovely handpicked products and their very good taste, they are the perfect hosts.
Breakfast was marvellous, everyday there was a new freshly baked surprise and the „helping hand“ Giuseppe was also very lovely!
Architecture and design are amazing, as can easily be seen on the pictures you find in the internet!

We really enjoyed every moment there. it is a perfect place to relax and forget about time, listen to the birds, stroll around in the surrounding nature or have a nice swim - so peaceful, that we have to come back for longer.. as this wonderful time we missed out nearly all the surrounding attractions like cities, beaches and so on ;)
