Bruno American Bar

I visit often when in the area for the summer. Great, family-run cafe' with typical local fare. Top-notch granitas (toasted almond and ricotta were my personal favourites). They also make panettone in the winter season (and can ship it too) and various nut creams.

My cousin Fra Giancarlo who lives in the local convent recommended this bar. So very pleased he did. OMG - the BEST panettone I have ever had in my life (salivating just thinking about it). The Australian exchange rate didn't help the expense, but it is so worth it. I bought the pistacchio panettone + the Carmen cream spread. They were truly divine! If I had to travel to Sicily and eat one thing, it would be this! The owner Bruno was a lovely gentleman, kind and patient with my indecisiveness. A lovely little bar with a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend, exquisite!

Excellent and very fresh granita halfway between Noto and Ragusa. A must stop for a morning treat.

Good place to chill and have a quick caffeine. The owner is really friendly! Enjoyed the Macchiato, was only €1 and fresh orange juice was €2.

We stopped here on a recent trip to ispica. We had a canollo, mandarin granita chocolate granita some coffee and a pastry with granulated sugar on the outside and orange flavoured ricotta in them middle, I can’t remember the name but will never forget the flavour! Very nice atmosphere, clean, friendly staff (even for me with my terrible Italian) all in all a very nice breakfast spot!

THE best gelato of the entire trip. Make the effort to stop by here if you are anywhere near and you won’t be disappointed

Piacevolissima sorpresa per questo piccolo ma elegante bar posto tra piazza Unità d'Italia ed il loggiato del Sinatra.
Appena entrati veniamo inebriati da un profumo di scorza di limone appena grattugiata per guarire dei dolci.
La proprietaria esternamente cortese ci ha illustrato con diffusa di particolari le caratteristiche dei dolci e della granita ragusana e in cosa differisce da quella messinese.
Sicuramente, l'american bar, sarà una tappa fissa quando tornerò ad Ispica.

Posto fisso per la granita durante le nostre vacanze estive. Tanta varietà di gusti e ottima qualità. Buonissime le brochies. In più sono eccezionali perché mi hanno permesso di assaporare sia granite che gelati a basso indice glicemico (con alternative allo zucchero).
Tanta cordialità e simpatia da parte del sig. Bruno.
Per gli eterni indecisi vi consiglio di provare la degustazione dei vari gusti di granite.

Una delle più buone granite con panna della Sicilia , eravamo in dubbio visto le recensioni troppo positive, in effetti tutto confermato .
La brioche molto buona.
