La Rocca Gourmet

Let me start by saying what a nice staff! While everything around was closed they made extra effort to open for our group of only 5 40 minutes early. We got welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine which is always appreciated. The menu is pretty small but interesting. The food came out good but meat tasted slightly too salty (but maybe that's how it was supposed to be, still very good). Overall a great experience.

The stunning view from the terrace sets the scene for a wonderful non touristy dining experience. Friendly and attentive staff ensured from start to finish, a meal to remember. Would happily eat there again and look forward to the next occasion. Avoid the clip joints and go straight to La Rocca!!!

Excellent food and wine. Would definitely recommend. Everything we had was delicious.

Since we travel a lot we visit a lot of restaurants, and this is one of the best we've had the pleasure of visiting. It's in a very old but beautifully restored building in Lucignano, Tuscany with rough-hewn beams on the ceiling and antique photos and artifacts decorating the rough stone and gleaming white plaster walls, while the white tablecloths, china, glasses and cutlery are modern and spotless. The chef/owner, Marcello Varignani, is cheerful and friendly and the food is superb. We were taken there by a friend who has a villa near Lucignano and so we had a full Italian-style dinner: appetizers, "first course" pasta dishes, "second course" meat dishes, and dessert, followed by coffee, and all accompanied by delicious wine from their amazing cellar. Since our friend was bringing us there for the first time he arranged for each of us to choose our preference for each course from the menu, and then had each selection divided into three portions so we could each sample every selection. Thus we all had an enormous variety of delectable taste experiences, ranging from a spinach souffle in a rich cream sauce to tagliatelle in a sauce with duck and truffles. We departed so stuffed we felt obliged to walk the circular "main street" around the inside of the city wall before returning to our car for the drive home, commenting all the way on the remarkable dining experience. One could readily consider moving to the area just to be able to enjoy dinner at La Rocca on a regular basis. I'm sorry the review format doesn't allow for a six- or seven-star rating, as La Rocca would certainly justify it!

The food was delicious and the setting was stunning. Our waitress Diana was so helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Ottimo pranzo...tutto veramente ottimo. Abbiamo assaggiate le ottime tartare con uovo fritto, il tagliere di affettati e formaggi, pici al ragù bianco di anatra e tortelli di burrata con mirtilli e funghi, tagliata ed anatra arrosto...devo dire tutto veramente buono...servizio perfetto e la cameriera attenta, sempre sorridente, gentile e preparata...ti fa sentire coccolata. Splendida anche la location. Prezzo più che onesto. Torneremo presto.

Ottima esperienza. Sono andato a gustare una cena prelibatissima! Cibo fantastico ed di alta qualità. La cameriera super educata e gentile come i cuochi ed il proprietario. Da consigliare assolutamente per un pranzo in famiglia.

La tipica cucina Toscana con diverse specialità a base di Tartufo. Della Toscana prende le cose più pregiate con abbondanti e buonissime porzioni. Tutto rigorosamente preparato dallo chef. Veramente un ottimo posto dove stare con amici o in dolce compagnia. D'estate l'uso della terrazza, che con l'avanzare della sera garantisce un'atmosfera molto intima, rende l'esperienza ancora più piacevole e perfetto per una cena romantica.

Abbiamo approfittato del bellissimo sole di oggi per visitare il Borgo di Lucignano, che non ha deluso le nostre aspettative... è un borgo tenuto molto bene, pieno di chiese che sono una più bella dell'altra, i vicoli caratteristici che circondano tutto il paese ti fanno rivivere un po' il medioevo e tutto il suo fascino. Ci siamo fermati in questo bellissimo ristorante gourmet molto curato ed accogliente. Ci hanno accolto con i nostri bambini pelosi con naturalità non è da tutti credetemi...Il servizio è stato "meraviglioso" ...la cameriera, la stessa che ci ha accolto è stata deliziosa...ha una bravura innata nel suo lavoro direi "premurosa e attenta" e sono doti preziose che andrebbero tenute come cose preziose...davvero complimenti 👏👏👏...la cucina sublime molto molto buoni i piatti fuori menù che abbiamo preso si sente la materia prima ricercata e fresca. Per noi è stata una bella sorpresa e torneremo appena possibile con amici.
