Wonderful mask shop and the owners are the best. I found this place on accident many years ago. My mom just had to go after seeing my mask. Their masks are always different every time I go back. Beautiful pieces of art and various price ranges. If your looking for something unique and authentic stop by and check them out you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful masks and one really gets this genuine family-owned business feeling. The owner explained stories behind different masks, and encouraged us to pick them up when she saw that we were a bit nervous about touching them.

If you are looking for authentic (papier mache technique) Venetian masks, not cheap copies - this is your store. These guys hand made all of the masks apearing in the movie Eyes wide shut.

It is places like this that make Venice magical! Sergio was so very helpful to my friend and I as we happened to come across this lovely store. Sergio explains the masks here are all authentic paper mache as originally designed, he also decorates them beautifully! The masks start as little as €15 which is a great take home gift from Venice.

This is my second purchase and visit. Sergio and his brother have make a large contribution to the art world and Hollywood. All their work is handmade and a true treasure. Revisiting this store was one of the only reasons I wished to revisit Venice.

Sergio is a great master and so humble at the same time. He took the time to explain us his story and how he got interested in this art and the main steps of his career he even presented as the other shop where other members of his family are making masks and they explain to us the whole process. We are very happy with the masks that we got, and I would totally recommend this place if you are thinking of visiting Venice!

Not only is the work and quality authentic but the proprietor was absolutely lovely and took time to show and explain everything to us. We left with three masks!

This is our second purchase. Our first mask held up nicely for 20 years in spite of Singapore’s hot and humid tropical climate but is looking rather dated. Sergio was super friendly and attentive to what we wanted. Our masks arrived safely halfway across the world and are now hanging proudly on our walls. Highly recommend!

Very small handmade masks’ shop. The shop is very small but full of beautiful masks. The kind and smiling owner is constantly producing them while visitors are looking at his shop. Apparently, the owner is the creator of the masks used in the movie eyes wide shut.
The cheapest mask is around 30 € but they are really beautiful. Worth a visit!

La Bottega Dei Mascareri is absolutely a must see in Venice. Brothers Sergio & Massimo are the nicest proprietors, amazing artists, and such a joy to talk to. With film credits for their beautifully crafted & painted masks, their shop is full of treasures to choose from. It was a privilege to meet them and bring home an authentic piece of Venice from our travels. This was our third visit to see this wonderful shop (2009, 2010, and 2019). They shipped our purchases and everything arrived in perfect condition. Definitely the highlight of our trip and a lifelong memory. What an honor to call Sergio & Massimo friends.

I have visited this fabulous shop three times: in 2011 when I bought six masks (three for me, and three as gifts). They were shipped and all arrived in perfect condition Then, I visited again in 2014, with my sister and I bought two more masks, one for me and one as another gift. Two weeks ago, I returned with my daughter, who had one of the masks from 2011. This time I bought a beautiful mask that Sergio says is the face of his daughter; and I bought another gift, which Sergio is creating in a special color for me. They have not yet arrived, but I know they, too will be perfect.

You can find a ton of machine made masks all over Venice, but you will not find many made and hand painted in the traditional way. These are the real deal.

An amazing craftsman work of Art! If you want a real venetian handmade mask, this is the place to be!

An incredible and truly authentic Venetian experience. We were looking for something special to take back from our trip, and stumbled across this original Venetian mask maker. He only uses traditional materials and makes each mask by hand. Truly spectacular stuff. The owner has lots of pictures of him with various stars, which backs up his claim that a lot of his work is used in film and TV. Over and above that, he was an amazing guy and really wonderful to talk to. Yes, his work is expensive, but we believe we've purchased a one-off piece of artwork and can't wait to display it at home.

Awesome place for masks. We bought a mask from here on our last trip and there were too many to choose. We don't know how we managed to pick one as there were too many beautiful masks. One to the next to the next... ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!! Can't wait to go back and buy more. I want to visit every time we go to Italy. Straight to Venice and to this mask shop. BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS AMAZING....
