Lots to see and do in this un-tapped region of Lunigiana. It's like stepping back in time. If you like biking, hiking or visiting the many Borgos scattered around the mountains, then this is the place for you. A good selection of local bars, restaurants.

We hiked the Green Trail from Cerreto Laghi today (September). It’s one of 10 trails of varying distances (30 mins to 4.5 hours) and terrain (easy, medium, difficult) that depart from the same spot next to the Cerreto Laghi. As noted on the trail maps chart, the Green Trail was a 2.5 hour hike, very well marked path, and medium terrain. The weather was perfect at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Following the hike we had paninis and coffee at a local cafe. Definitely hope to be back one day.

Wonderful!! There is a bus service that takes you from the end of the road in Lagdei and drives you to the edge of the lake. Over there you can find a restaurant and a bar, several mapped trails, tables to make picnic and beautiful places to take photos and relax.

Great place, needing just a little more attention by the authorities and some renewal to the learning path. Great food at the Lagdei refuge. Go up to the cross on top of the Marmagna mount and enjoy watching the La Spezia Gulf

The Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park consists of a striking stretch of the Apennine Mountains surrounded by forests, in an extraordinary geographical position: a 930 mile-long Apennine Mountain range that lays right in between the Po River Valley, the rest of Europe, and the Mediterranean Sea.
The Apennine ridgeline, an almost continuous sequence of peaks whose altitude ranges between 1600 and 2000 meters, is the physical border between Emilia and Tuscany.

The National Park and its surrounding territory are truly unspoiled, as yet undiscovered by mass tourism, where you will experience a genuine Italian lifestyle; you will be guest of a widespread mountain community, where everyone want you to experience – and very often taste – the best their homeland can offer.
Here you can find culture, nature, leisure, outdoor activities, and food all within a short distance!

With boots, snowshoes, crampons, skis, bicycles or on horseback: everyone can choose his own way of exploring this world of sweet mountains with a wild heart. Let’s go discover it!

Beautiful views from 1575m above sea level. The road there is also a very nice journey from Piazza al Serchio all the way up. Absolutely nice troad trip when in Garfagnana!

For thirty years this Oasis has been a major source of inspiration. Rising out of the Padana fog on a grim winter morning, a short hike past Lago Santo puts you on top of the world, gazing into the Tuscan sun. If you're lucky Corsica and its white peaks are close enough to touch.
The lake and its friendly Rifugio Mariotti are reachable for a coffee, a meal or an overnight stay via the historic single chair lift, or else at the end of a brisk 300m hike through the woods. The upper mountains and the Appennine ridge line lie another 300m up in the wide open Alpine fields.
The more adventurous tourist will make the 60km bike ride from Parma's Piazza Garibaldi to Lagdei, change shoes and dash to the cross on Monte Marmagna! Once in a lifetime!

Nature...where you can take a nap on the lap of nature very peacefully. You can lost yourself in the woods. It is like paradise.
