Church of Saints Bartholomew and Cajetan

I can say that the Church of Saints Bartholomew and Cajetan, located in the very center of Bologna, is a good example of renaissance style architecture. It does not attract much attention among other important places of the city, but it has a general architecture worth seeing. When I looked at the altars individually, I must say that I liked their architecture, but the works of art were not very interesting. Entrance is free.

I should also point out that the modern paintings hanging on some of the columns add a different, pleasant atmosphere to the church.

It was such a magnificent and beautiful place. There was a beautiful painting on the ceiling of the cathedral.

Absolutely stunning Renaissance church located in the centre of Bologna near to Due Torri. The ceiling of the central nave has a Vision of San Gaetano. Here you can also find little patios where you can sit and enjoy the silence the beautiful architecture, the church is beautiful but my only recommendation would be wearing something less revealing (covering your knees and and shoulders) so you could enjoy this beautiful architecture, otherwise you will not be let inside of the church.

Church of Saints Bartholomew and Cajetan is a Renaissance church that was built in the early sixteenth century on top of a much older church. Many of the ceiling and wall paintings were added much later in the second half of the seventeenth century. What is surprising about its interior is the contrast between gilded dark columns and the much lighter colored ceiling.

The entrance is for free and the whole style of the church is one of a kind. Definitely give it a try even if you don’t like churches or religion at all. 👋

Interesting church that we found as we walked down the street. Different to most. Very aesthetic colours and very quiet inside. As an atheist, I found this place very peaceful and enjoyable.
