Wonderful experience! We enjoyed the warm hospitality of Giulia Di Cosimo as she explained about the property, the soils of Orvieto, and the winemaking process. The cellar tour was great, especially seeing the new more experimental projects in amphorae. The tastings, of course, were fantastic, exploring their range of wines.

Let me tell you about this fantastic tour I took in Orvieto! It combined delicious winery tastings with a fascinating exploration of the city center.
We started by visiting the winery. It was incredible to see a traditional setup, our expert guide was the producers, who were knowledgeable about the wines and the region's history.
The best part? Tasting their wines paired with delicious local foods – pure heaven!
After the winery visit, we explored the charming city center of Orvieto. The Duomo, a Gothic masterpiece, left me speechless. We also visited Civita di Bagnoregio, a picture-perfect town that seemed frozen in time.
If you're looking for a way to experience the best of Orvieto, this winery tasting and city center tour is the way to go. It was informative, delicious, and fabulous! Cin Cin.

Visiting Argillae was a truly unique experience. A must visit if you are near Orvieto.

My wife and I had such a great time at Argillae winery just outside the center of Orvieto. Giulia, the owner, welcomed us with a tour in the vineyards and showed us the cellar and the anphore where Argillae ages its wines. The last step was the tasting room where we had some local appetizers paired with Argillae wines. When you plan your Orvieto trip call Argillae and set up a time to stop by for a tour and tasting!

Argillae is a very special female owned winery in Orvieto. Giulia di Cosimo is an stalwart innovator and deeply committed to both the earth and her community. From her Prima di Amphore Orvieto wine fermented and aged in amphora crafted from the very same clay that the vines grow in in her vineyards, to her Signorelli label Orvieto DOC wine which honors the great Italian Renaissance painter (the wine gives back a portion of it's profits to support the preservation of the frescos of the Duomo of Orvieto), and more...Giulia also serves as the vice president of the Orvieto wine board, and can often be found helping her husband in his restaurant Da Carlo in the town center of Orvieto. In short...visit, eat, drink and discover Argillae wines wherever you can (by the way, in the USA you can go into your favorite wine shop and ask them to bring the wines in...the US importer is Vias!).

We had a wonderful experience at Argillae. We really enjoyed the cellar tour and learning about the projects that Giulia and her team are undertaking to make the wine come full circle from growing on the vines in the clay soil to aging in the clay amphora. The tasting was also excellent with a nice range of wines that were perfectly paired with locally sourced foods. We highly recommend a visit here - we enjoyed the wines so much we bought a case!

We were treated like royalty at Argillae winery! The wines are absolutely delicious. Their approach to farming with a focus on positive environment impact is very inspiring. It was a beautiful place to spend the day and such a wonderful memory.

We've been to Argillae for wine tastings and it was a fantastic experience of the most delicious wines! I purchased several bottles of just about every wine they produce and their olive oil is wonderful! We had the pleasure of watching the bottling process and we continue to enjoy Argillae wines!

We have visited Argillae on several occasions and always receive a warm welcome from Giulia and her team. She has prepared several different tasting experiences for us, to enable us to become familiar with the range of excellent wines produced; and food pairings that work well with them. She has great enthusiasm and shares her knowledge and passion for the business and it's potential with her visitors. We have also had the pleasure of walking around the vineyard and the cantina facilities to see how the vines are carefully tended and the attention that is paid to producing high quality wines. It's a real pleasure to visit here.

We recently went on a beautiful drive through the Umbrian countryside and ended our day with a visit to Argillae winery. We were with family members and had a most wonderful experience there! Giulia, the owner is so passionate and knowledgeable about the grapes she grows and the wine she makes. She paired her fantastic wines with the best local foods! The olive oil and wines she makes at Argillae are outstanding! If you are in the area of Orvieto you really need to pay a visit to Giulia at Argillae. You will not be disappointed!

Argillae is picturesque and a lovely place to visit for a tour around the vineyards. As a white wine lover, I really enjoyed all of their offerings, which were especially nice sipped alongside their appetizer offerings. We would recommend it!

Argillae is a fabulous vineyard to visit. Giulia and her team are always welcoming, extremely knowledgeable and very informative. The wines are exceptional and the tastings and tours very enjoyable. Argillae really is 'Must Visit' vineyard on any trip to beautiful Umbria.

If you have a chance to check the winery out when you are in Orvieto it's a must! Choice of tasting or tasting + tour. We had the fortune of having the owner/wine maker take us for the tour. Guilia's passion shows through in the wine!

Absolutely loved visiting this lovely winery! Great expressions of Orvieto DOC wines and the property is just gorgeous! If you’re in Umbria and want to experience the essence of Orvieto, make sure to add this to your itinerary.

This is a fascinating winery, originally bought as a hobby decades ago and now farmed in earnest and sustainably by the third generation of the family. This includes having their own water treatment plant and farming as near as possible organically. The wine quality is terrific, both red and white, and the now produce a sparkling wine entirely made on the premises. They're experimenting with amphorae though it's early days and not yet commercial. They're replanting a couple of hectares with local varieties. From a visitor's point of view the welcome and the tasting are both very good experiences.

Without an appointment we had a very warm welcome. The team took the time to explain us a lot about the winery and the different sorts they are producing. Additionally we could also taste also the olive oil. It was a pleasure for us to have a short wine tasting here and at the end we bought some bottles of oil and wine. This winery is highly recommended, especially if you book one of their 5 different wine tastings....one of this is with a little wine tasting game that seems to be very funny (after some glasses 😉)

Great welcome! Beautiful winery with nice wines and olive oil. We had no appointment but that was no problem. Had a great tasting. Unfortunately we had not enough time for a tour because of dinner reservations but we will come back for that 🍷

By chance dining in Orvieto I was introduced to both wine and olive oil from this cantina. I made arrangements to visit and was not disappointed.Truly fascinating visit and full explanation by the owner Giulia who is clearly passionate and very knowledgeable. (and speaks very good English which was a great help for me) Wine is excellent, as is the oil. Well worth visiting by appointment.
