My wife and I stayed here as part of a self-guided walking tour from Bologna to Florence in August 2022. We should have written the review then, but now is better than never, right? Coming from Australia (Perth), we were trying to maximise our time, so didn't stop to write a review. When we got back, the hurly-burly of life took over again...
What a magnificent place - the location is magical, nestled in the mountains, the rooms very well appointed and comfortable, and the service is impeccable. The staff were knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. They made us feel right at home.
The restaurant was amazing. The young head chef was brilliant, the food was mouthwatering, and the wine was delicious. Our waiter that evening was a lovely guy who engaged us in wonderful conversation. It's just a shame we didn't have another day to spend at the place - we would have stayed up all night drinking wine and talking to him.
I can't recommend Agriturismo Il Passaggere enough!

A great place! Super recommended both if you want to stay the night or enjoy the restaurant. You will find yourself in a magical location, surrounded by the wilderness, tasting great food, and being treated by friendly and capable staff. I had the pleasure of spending one night there in the midst of a months-long trekking: I was welcome by Federico and had the possibility of meeting him and the chef, Peppe, personally. Both fantastic people, who ensured I had the best night. Check this place out if you have the chance.

Have now been to this place in every season and absolutely love the drive to get there from Bologna or Florence. The setting is gorgeous and peaceful but the star of the show is the food. Also, in my opinion and I really believe it, they serve the best house wine in any place I've ever eaten. I especially recommend the deer but everything is delicious.

We had a lunch/party at this place, which looked even better in person. The view of the Apennine was stunning and being a bit higher up made the climate pleasantly cool. The food also exceeded our expectations and the whole staff was very accommodating. They even let us use their plates and forks for a cake we ordered from elsewhere. If we didn’t have to go back we would have stayed the night. It is also on the pilgrimage trail of Via dei Dei which connects Bologna to Florence, which means I will definitely stop here when I do that walk.

What a lovely experience! My husband and I stayed only one night as we were hiking the Via degli Dei, but we would have happily stayed for a week. Our room was comfortable and spacious (with a ceiling fan!) Fred gave us a warm welcome and made helpful suggestions for dinner. We both agreed it was the best meal of our lives. The setting was breathtaking, and the restaurant and common areas were beautifully decorated. At night I could hear the cows through the open window. Such a wonderful natural respite between our stays in Bologna and Florence!

What a gorgeous place to stay on the Via Degli Dei walk. We are a party of 4 (3 family members plus a friend) who stayed one night. The host, Fred, is super helpful - without any notice he found us a shared area with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom, and even provided tips for restaurants in Florence. Rooms are beautiful, clean, with all conveniences provided. Food is marvellous - locally grown and cooked to perfection. Definitely a highlight of our walk from Bologna to Florence, thank you!

We stayed here only 1 night with my parents, but it was an AMAZING experience!! We arrived at the beautiful farm which is located on top of the hills and has a beautiful scenery. We had a very warm welcome from Anna and Orlando, they gave us the feeling we were at home right away. The rooms are nice with authentic details and comfortable beds. That day it was a rainy day so we sit inside for dinner. Orlando put on the fire place and went back to the kitchen to prepare the ‘tasting menu’ for us. It is hard to describe, but the level of cooking was very very good! This is a hunting farm, so many dishes were served with game (looooved it!) This was an unforgettable evening with amazing tastes, products, ambience and people! Anna and here son Pedro did the servings and wines, which was super!
The next day we had a very complete and delicious breakfast, with home made jam, butter, cake... What a joy!
This was the first, but definitely not the last time to be here! We highly recommend to others to stay here!!

Outstanding location, service and food. Highly recommended!

We stayed here while doing the via degli dei and it was without question the best place we stayed. The staff are warm, generous and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and looked after. The rooms were spacious, warm and very quiet. Would recommend trying to get here early or staying an extra night so you can really enjoy their stunning location within the hills. Enjoy a welcome apertivo outside on their lawn or in their beautifully decorated dining space. Try to get to breakfast early (no later than 7:30) so you can get the best bits if their freshly cooked cheese and ham omelettes.

The food was outstanding: much of the produce is from their own land and is cooked with a great deal of love. Its great for trying regional specialieties (the potato filled ravioli with ragu was some of the best pasta on our trip) and was very reasonably priced.

Wish we coukd have stayed longer - we hope we will be back!!

Great experience. It is definitely the best stop on the Via Degli Dei walk. The rooms are very comfortable (especially the beds and mattress) and nicely decorated. Bathroom is spacious. The restaurant serves excellent food, precisely done. The grilled Cervo (venison) is delicious as well as the pasta dishes and everything else we ordered. The service was kind and informative. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is only around 15min from the main road. They are super friendly, food is amazing, they grow their own meat (pigs live free), and despite beeing vegeterian, I do admire such extra attitude toward animals. I enjoyed parmiggiana and polenta with mashrooms, everything was really good.. totally recomend!

650m off the 'Via degli Dei' but worth the extra effort. Very calming atmosphere. The suite is perfect

We had a very good diner here with friendly personel. The camping host recommended the place. The road to the location is hardly a road so we started doubting the directions given. When you reach the location however you will be pleasantly surprised. They offer full 6 and 8 course menus with very good italian food
