Ristorante L' Acquario

One of my top 3 meals in Italy during my month long trip. Everything was perfect from my arrival at the restaurant until I left. I am a solo traveler, I had a very nice table in the front dining room not far from the door. The waiters were very nice and very helpful in answering my queries. This restaurant made the Michelin Bib Gourmand for a few years already including 2023.

I ordered the declination of the lake as an appetizer (Assaggi di Lago), it is composed of 6 to 7 little appetizers made from local fish except one which was made with olives. I had to start with the one in the middle then go to the one at 12 o’clock and go around clockwise and finish at 11 o’clock with the last bite. It was very good, although the last one was my least favorite, it was eel.

For my main course I had the Tegamaccio, a fish soup featuring local fish and crayfish. It was also very good, beware there were some fishbones as we are talking about local lake fish.

For dessert, I opted for the variation on a strawberry millefeuille with chantilly cream. Just WOW!!!! The presentation and the taste was amazing. It is really a variation, do not expect a French millefeuille pastry.

To top it all, I tried the dessert wine they make, the Ippocrasso, it was a sweet and spicy wine, I loved it so much, I bought a bottle to bring back with me to Siena to share with the Italian family I was living with while attending classes in Siena.

I also would like to mention that beside my table, there were a few books they make annually featuring the team behind the success of that restaurant. You can see some candid moments, the garden, some of the plates they prepared and read a few snippets about them. As mentioned, I was on my own at that restaurant, that kept me entertained and they were beautifully made.

I highly recommend L’Acquario for a different culinary experience in Italy.

Lovely place with very good kitchen. We were surprised how interesting can be prepared regular lake fish carp! We chose vino de la casa, was really wonderful. Our recommendation for all fish lovers. Try set for tasting- really really good.

Had a wonderful lunch here. Sat outside in the slightly touristy street, where people munching on pizza slices gaped at the food on my plate. Airy light gnocchi with some fish, a grilled pike with beautiful grilled veggies and a chocolate cake washed down with some Moscato D’Asti. Nice local wines on offer and friendly service.

Me & my 3 friends loved this experience, because we are learning Italian, and though it took a bit of time to make sure we get what we'd like to try, the waitress, Viola was very patient and supportive. We adored the recommended typical regional dishes. The place is cozy and neat.

We ate here twice in the past 3 weeks and both times the food was delicious. The vegetable timbale, last time with fresh asparagus, this time with fresh zucchini, is absolutely lovely! Great house wines by the glass - especially the Orivieto. Very friendly and professional waitstaff - would definitely recommend. Lovely evening!

We had a lovely dinner last week. My wife had the panciotti (large stuffed pasta), and I had the persico. Very well prepared and served with a smile. Dolce's and coffees where great as well including a nice limoncello! We'll definitely come back on our next trip!

We visited the restaurant yesterday. What a fantastic restaurant! The food was excellent. Made with love and dedication. The taste of the food was unbelievable. And the plates looked so good. The wine was delicious. The staff was so friendly, they put the customer really at no. 1. Also the restaurant has a marvelous atmosphere. And the prices are really o.k. A big compliment for this restaurant!!!

Attentive service and really unique seafood dishes that highlight the local cuisine. Highly suggest the local fish appetizer and gnocchi in perch sauce.

Possibly the best fish restaurant in town. All the fish comes directly from the lake and is truly delicious.
Given that the menu boast mainly fresh water fish it can be very tricky for the chef as these fish generally have very different flavour to what we all usually eat from the sea. However, there is a master chef in that restaurant which serves up something very special. Would strongly recommend!

Delicious meal for a great price. Very friendly and helpful staff and a lovely place for lunch. Interesting wine list with some little gems. We would certainly recommend L’Acquario and will be returning in future.

Had the dinner of our lives here. Pasta Norcina in the autumn. And a Barolo. Well worth a detour better yet stay the night.
