La Grotta di Vigata

As someone who traveled for a week through Sicily I can say this was one of the best pasta’s i’ve eaten since. Super good!

This is a very (very indeed) nice place to eat. Once I was told to look for places, the Sicilians go themselves; this evening, we were the only non Sicilians. And the place was packed. So cozy, so Sicilian, simple, genuine, and yet very, very tasty.

We had the shared fish plate where every singe dish was excellent in terms of quality and taste.
Followed by a Pasta Norma and a superb Pasta with Seafood where the water is running again in my mouth if I think of that.
If you want a wine recommendation- go for the 6 euro Housewine which is stuuuuuunnninnngggg!!!!!

Lonely place! The tonno Di agrodolce was amazing!

If you watched the famous series "Commissario Montalbano" you know what Vigata means. La grotta di Vigata is a really great place to eat if you are in Porto Empedocle. The fish was fantastic! You can easily choose anything ftom the menu - everything is fresh and perfectly cooked. Good atmosphere, polite staff and pleasant memories. Thanks to all the team! Ci vediamo presto.

We were the only tourists for lunch among a batch of locals and I know why they go there. Food was terrific. Even the guy who wrote the Inspector Montalbano books goes there -and he could go anywhere

Tutto buono. Cameriere gentile e paziente 😀,antipasto misto fatto con pesce freschissimo. Primi dalla pasta alla norma all spaghetti allo scoglio abbondanti e gustosi . Frittura di paranza molto buona . Prezzi giusti . Consigliato.

Bella la location , cibo davvero buono, abbiamo preso crudite di crostacei , spaghetti allo scoglio e paccheri alla mediterranea .
