We were so lucky to get a table in the garden. We did not book in advance so make sure you do that.
The pizzas, the view and the service in this place will give you stuff to talk about for years! Emilio and Isabella were the kindest hosts. Anita made the best pizzas and focaccia of my whole life. Seriously go there! It’s worth a visit!

Emilio and Anita don’t just feed hungry bellies - they nourish the souls ! The husband-wife team are like Michelangelo of pizza and they make their finger-licking delicious pizzas with a special ingredient - love. A large number (~20) of us friends showed up for dinner and each one left happy 3 hours later with sweet memories of Italian hospitality. Emilio was so patient and creative in making sure that despite the constraints of vegetarian pizzas we got a flavor of variety of all his pizzas … The fresh focaccia Anita started us with were out of this world - especially so when paired with Emilio’s secret sauce - the habanero dip - don’t miss it !

What an amazing place!

The owner Emilio and his family were the best hosts.
We were welcomed in like one of the family; the place was alive with laughing and banter, while great food and drinks dropped onto the tables.

Everything we ate and drank was top quality; so fresh and delicious, and all for a very reasonable price.

I wish we hadn't found this place on our last night in the region, as we could have eaten here every night.

We had an awesome time dining there. The owner and the staff are super friendly and made our stay a memorable experience. We came as a group of friends and everyone just loved it! We had delicious pizza, great wine and excellent panna cotta. All of that on a beautiful terrace, that feels like sitting in your garden at home -- just with a better view :)

What an incredible experience my husband and family had at Le Carceri Del Podesta. We were just walking by around 1 pm admiring the town's historical castle and churches when we ran into Emilio, the restaurant owner. We told him we were looking for a place to have lunch. He was closed but he invited us in for an impromptu lunch. We had such a wonderful experience eating our lunch and talking. We made reservations for the same day to return and have his restaurant 's famous pizza with our son and his family (three little girls and his wife) all 7 of us. The wood burning brick oven pizza that we had was delicious and so was the charcuterie, condiments and wine. The atmosphere was friendly and so much fun. We have been in Italy for 6 weeks and left the restaurant feeling that it was best pizza eating experienced we have had. The pizza was so much better than Napel's famous pizzas and the atmosphere was so much fun.

Amazing experience that we had, the pizzas were absolutely scrumptious especially the scarola and the Seravalle. The owners were so welcoming and wonderful . The Panacotta was to die for and super yummy! I recommend the place you not only eat well but you will be well looked after.🥂

Within a thousand years old prison, two fantastic people are passionate about preparing excellent pizza and desserts.
Pizza without tomato sauce is a MUST.
And if you want to experience a panna cotta from another galaxy...try panna cotta pistachio.

The place is amazing, the food, incredible. And the owners don't want to serve you, nor feed you. They want to make you happy. And after leaving the place I could not stop thinking the world is a fantastic place. ❤

Pizzeria "interattiva" nel quale abbiamo assaggiato una pizza ottima con ingredienti di qualità presentati dal simpatico proprietario, il sign.Emilio vi spiegherà impasti, cotture e qualunque informazione necessaria per gustarvi un'ottima serata. Location con giardinetto interno illuminato da fili di lampadine molto carina e ambiente interno molto suggestivo.

La simpatia di Anita ed Emilio, l'ospitalità e la location sono solo alcune delle ottime qualità che troverete in questo magico posto! Gli ingredienti di prima scelta utilizzati in cucina fanno sì che tutti i piatti che ordinerete siano speciali ed il vostro palato ringrazierà senza dubbio! Una vera fortuna aver scoperto questo posto ideale per fare anche una bella passeggiata post pasto. Una volta che lo avrete scoperto ci ritornerete senza dubbio!
