Wow! What a great choice to celebrate my husband’s birthday! The staff could not have been more kind and attentive. The food was just glorious. I had the shrimp pasta which was delicious, my husband had the calamari pasta which was very good, another friend had the very fresh grilled fish and they even took it off the bone for her. Excellent! I cannot say enough about this wonderful restaurant. The best we’ve had in Catania!

10 stars for the service!! Seriously, do not skip out on this local gem when you’re in Catania. Turned out to be super close to our hotel, on a quiet side street. As soon as we sat down around 7:30pm, we were greeted by a menu on an easel (no paper menus, no QR codes) and a server explained each food item line by line which was helpful as the menu is fully in Italian. Another server helped us pair wine with our food choices and it was an excellent bottle from Etna. Overall superb service - kind, joyful, patient and attentive. Food was delicious as well, with an emphasis on seafood plates. We ordered octopus dishes and lobster pasta to share. By the end of it, there was no room for dessert but our server treated us to limoncello on the house. Exceptional experience in Catania, will be back to try their dessert!!

What a great spot in Catania for excellent and fresh Sicilian cuisine. A great selection of seafood prepared in different ways. The staff were all very nice and attentive. The owner even translated the menu for us! Great and tasty experience!!!

I came across this place on trip advisor as one of the better restaurants in Catania and it didn’t disappoint.
I arrived much earlier than my reservation but the waiter Antonio could not have been nicer and allowed me to sit 15 minutes before my reservation. To start I had some olives, breadsticks and a negroni, no complaints here. I was then shown the menu of the day in which Antonio read through and translated all dishes into english which was very helpful. I started with an octopus salad which was simple, light and yet full of flavour. The fresh octopus paired with carrots and celery was delightful, probably my favourite dish of the night.
I have to apologise but I don’t remember the name of the other gentleman who seemed to either be the manager or owner but either way was knowledgeable with the wine. He helped me choose a wonderful Nero d’avola to pair with my Pasta alla norma (a traditional Sicilan pasta) which was one of the better pasta dishes I had in Catania. He also allowed me to try a rose where the grapes were grown in the soil of Etna itself. My last course was of course a fillet of horsemeat which was tender and seasoned well.
As if the dinner could not have gone better I ended with the best tiramisu I have ever eaten and some limencello (one shot was on the house!). I can’t thank Antonio and the team enough for a tremendous first dinner in Catania.
Definitely recommend coming here with a larger group to experience more of the food and more wine.

Best place I ate in Catania! All the food was perfect and the service was fast, polite and friendly. I had the croquets, horse meat steaks and then the tiramisu. Perfecto!

Loved this place! The service was super friendly, fast and efficient, and the food amazing! We went with lobster pasta, which was absolutely delicious and with a tuna steak, which was out of this world. Pity we only found this place on our last day, otherwise we would have come again!

Really amazing find in Catania. Highly recommend it. The food is delicious and you can tell the ingredients are fresh & really good quality. We ate a primo & secondo: pasta (linguini all’aglio, pomodoro, pistacchio e gamberi rosso)- it was mind-blowing! Followed by octopus & sword fish. We paired the meal with a delicious Etna white wine. The staff are really kind and helpful. If you’re in Catania, don’t miss it!

The service is really amazing !!! The presentation of the menu was done with so much love and every single meal was explained. Just great ! The food quality is superb, super fresh, home made pasta and some very specials were offered. Our favorite meal was the stuffed sardina, something very new for us and very delicious.

It's always great to find little gems like this restaurant. Everything was great from the service, the atmosphere with italian music in the background, not to mention food. We order octopus everywhere we travel and this one was so simple, yet delicious. We also tried pasta alla norma, which was a nice surprise. The pistachio and ricotta sauce was very special, we haven't tasted anything like this before.

Very authentic atmosphere with funny and welcoming staff.The food was delicious. I would especially recommend the horse meatballs and the octopus.We ordered sorbetto for dessert and it came as a compliment from the restaurant 👏

In our search for a tradițional sicilian dinner in Catania , we ran into this amazing place, what an experience 🤌!
Starting from our waiter Antonio, the menu description, wine tasting and traditional desserts , i must say this place is a hidden gem .
We had fresh fish , grilled octopus, mixed fried seafood, tuna in two ways , tiramisu and traditional sicilian cake , and probably the best volcanic wines i tasted since now . 🍷

The best food experience in Sicily. Fresh fish and seafood and a 5 star service

Amazing seafood! Very fresh food, great atmosphere. Although the menu is in Italian, if you only speak English, the waitstaff can explain everything for you. Recommend a reservation. We booked for 7:30 with a reservation and it wasn’t super busy, but when we left at 9:30 it was packed.

We have been to Puti in September 2023. This was one of the best restaurants we had eaten at during our time in Sicily.
The Restaurant is cozy, elegant and gives off the typical italian vibe.
There are no menues in this place - they have a handwritten board that gets updated daily and one of the servers reads all of the dishes to you (our waiter was fluent in italian, english and german).
The food was an absolute dream. I ate a pretty simple dish: pasta with tomato sauce and burrata. This simple dish was one of the best things i have eaten during my whole time in italy.

You can also buy nice Souvenirs like wine, marmalade or pistacchio cream there.
We had a very pleasant stay at pitu and I would totally recommend this place to everybody!

It was such a nice experience for our last night in Catania. We recommend reservations. The staff were friendly and very helpful offering great suggestions too. We loved the vibe. We ordered a shrimp appetizer and it was tasty. We both ordered pasta entrees and they were just as delicious. We would definitely go back when we return.

We chose this restaurant as we wanted to try fresh seafood. At 7:45pm it was almost empty. We were greeted with a glass of processo, olives and bread. They don’t have a written menu as the dishes change frequently, they come with a board and explain everything to you (also in English), bringing you the fresh catch of the day on a plate (60eur/kilo, the fish is around 800g). For antipasto we went for fried sardine (sardine boccafico), delicious. As primo piatto we chose pasta with shrimp and lemon sauce - what is nice is that they separated one dish into two plates so that we could both try without disturbing the other. The dish itself was really tasty, especially lemon sauce. For secondo we tired sword fish with fresh salad. It was the best out of what we tried, fresh and fantastically prepared. We paired it with a fresh salad, we should have chosen grilled vegetables, the salad was boring and not well seasoned. As per the experience, you have like 5 different people attending you, each one with a different job which makes you feel very special. Be mindful, it is an expensive restaurant, e.g. pesce spada was 14eur, the salad was 6eur, one shot of limoncello 4eur. In addition, there was no vino della caza. All in all, we had a great time.
