La Locanda del Cantiere

We were very fortunate to be able to stay in one of the new suites at the top. The listing says that it is a 3-star hotel, but these suites were something you would find in a 4 or 5-star hotel. Everything was so peaceful and d relaxing. It was our own private oasis for two nights. Breakfast was really good and was included with our stay. The manager and all of the staff were so polite and accommodating to us. I would absolutely come back here and stay in one of these new suites again. I would highly recommend staying here in lieu of one of the overpriced villas if you are here to attend a wedding. I would also recommend having a car because getting around Lake Como can be challenging and taxis are overpriced and hard to get. Our two nights here were the most relaxing of our entire stay.

Pro tip: Rent a boat and they will drop it off and pick it up at the public dock right in front of the hotel. This was probably one of our favorite things about our trip to Lake Como and it was super convenient that we could get the boat right in front of our hotel!

Just went for dinner there with my family. Didn’t stay the evening, however the food and service was top tier, and you get what you pay for. Very laid back and yet the staff were always attentive. Theme also matched perfectly. 100% would go back and recommend!!

Amazing experience at La Locanda del Cantiere! The small botique hotel experience was much more pleasant than a large hotel, and it was in a beautiful area with many things to do nearby. Very helpful that it has on-site parking to not have to worry about finding a space. Breakfast was also a step above the average continental breakfast served at hotels in the area, with a very good selection of fruits. Despite some construction in the area it was still quiet enough for our standards and the view was still great!

Great little hotel! Staff were very friendly. There's free parking. The hotel restaurant is fantastic. Really delicious food. There's a pontoon which you can use if you want to take a swim in the lake too.

Above and beyond service from Mihaly and the restaurant staff. We really felt like they gave us space to enjoy ourselves but we’re there when we needed them. Very clean, unique room, excellent restaurant. Would love to return again.

We came in 2 couples: rooms are amazing, fulfilled with all you need. Breakfast is what I preferred, also good for vegans. Indoor car park available. Rooms are clean and there is a small balcony which faces on the lake, it’s very romantic! :).

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and its manager, Mihai. We stayed here with our young children and our friends in July of 2022. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious; as a result, we ended up cancelling our other hotel reservation and extending our stay at La Locanda. The in-house restaurant was another reason for our extended stay; the food was IMPECCABLE! Lastly, the service was fantastic thanks to Mihai; he was very accommodating and very informative whenever we needed assistance. He even made two trips to drive all of us in his personal car (and our luggage) to the ferry when our planned transportation did not arrive on the day of our departure. We still talk about this hotel when reminiscing about our Italy trip; the experience was truly unforgettable thanks to the staff, the delicious food and the boutique-feel of the hotel. We hope to be back sooner than later and highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms: a place to relax and rejuvenate with a direct view of the lake and mountains.

The menu: simple menu with delicious offerings (if you love squid, you will love what they serve). The squid was perfect and heavenly. We had it two nights in a row.

The restaurant staff (hello Arthur!) always offer gracious serving assistance

La Locanda is beyond a charming place to stay. If you want to skip the big crowds and bus station feeling of big hotels this is the place to stay.

We need to find time to return here.

Lovely boutique hotel on the west side of Lago Di Como. So happy we stayed on this side vs Varenna or Bellagio. Hotel staff was kind and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. The young woman who worked the bar at breakfast made the best cappuccinos. We enjoyed renting a car and driving up and down the lake off the beaten path. Plenty of ferry stops with parking close by if you want to take the ferry too.

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Laglio. We didn't make reservations but we were very lucky to get a seat outdoors without a reservation as other couples who arrived minutes after us were only offered seats indoors.

The service was good. The food very good if a little on the pricey side but overall a great restaurant (we would not have gone back if it were not).

Very good updated rooms. Best breakfast. Courteous staff. Good location. Parking is great as it is hard to find in Lake Como area.

There are many accommodations to choose from at Lake Como offering visitors a choice; however, the owners, manager and staff of La Locanda del Cantiere have figured out how to make their accommodation exceptionally appealing to the traveler. La Locanda del Cantiere's decor is a combination of the best of antiquity combined with contemporary. They offer world class comfort and offer everything (including the little things,) that make for a great stay. Rooms offer state of the art ambient lighting as well as outside lighting, windows that open for fresh air, electronic shades, views right on the lake, state of the art bathroom fixtures, showers with great water pressure and perfect drainage, top security with four bolts on room doors, high speed wifi and comfortable bedding. The facility offers an elevator so one doesn't have to carry luggage up stairs and excellent parking that is locked at night and accessible to guests at all hours via a combination lock. The restaurant next door has a perfectly wonderful breakfast in the morning, phenomenal decor, caring and attentive staff. The La Locanda del Cantiere Manager provides excellent service to his guests and takes the initiative to go above and beyond. This was my most favorite stay in all of the 9 places of lodging I stayed at during my visit to northern Italy. La Locanda del Cantiere can write the book on superior hospitality. Bravo to the La Locanda del Cantiere team!

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. The food at the restaurant near by was good and the customer service was amazing. The manager was super nice and welcoming. The room was beautiful and we loved the private dock to go swimming off of.

Late at night there are not a lot of options in Laglio. We were very lucky to find this little gem! The marbled sirloin and pumpkin gnocchi were delicious! Excellent service - highly recommend

Arthur and team were fantastic and great with engaging the kids in conversation. Won’t lie, we stumbled across it whilst trying to catch a glimpse of George Clooney who supposed lives nearby.

One of our favorite places to have dinner in the neighborhood. Fast and super kind personnel, delicious cuisine, exquisite location, and — for the Clooney fans — just a stone throw away from Villa Oleandra. A must-try when in town.
