Very well organized, we did not plan a car ahead, but the person Rosario working in the counter was very kind to make us a great offer and gave us an Fiat 500 Hybrid, this way our trip fuel was very low and had a chance to enjoy the Italian experience. Besides this, there were no hidden charges, and the drop-off was fast and straight forward.

First-time experience renting a vehicle abroad and it couldn't have been better! Very pleasantly surprised at how clear everything was, how friendly the staff were and how easy over-all the process was! Couldn't recommend Locauto more and will definitely be a returning customer! Grazie!

First time in Sicily and visiting from the U.S. We rented here from May 8-14. Excellent service from pickup to drop off. Every person we interacted with was great especially Priscilla who took the time to translate Italian to English with Locauto’s customer service line when I accidentally booked the wrong start date for the rental! She turned a potential inconvenience into a seamless process Marco was also very helpful in the checkout process with great clear advice. It seems Locauto only hires competent and ethical people which is great and is similar to their Enterprise and National partners with whom we have had similar seamless experiences. Great job, Locauto Team!

Catania Airport, in general, for you first timers is not easy to navigate for rental cars and directions are located nowhere online in a clear way. There is no shuttle to the rental anything. For Locauto, you first go to the Locauto office which is in between two bars in Terminal A. You show your passport and reservation info then they add on any options you want (ie insurance, etc). We declined everything as our credit card benefits cover our insurance needs, in addition to our personal insurance. We also declined gas options as we are comfortable pumping our own diesel. Then the rep sends you to the physical rental office in P4 (parking garage 4) which is a 5 minute walk. Easiest method is to turn right until you exit terminal A then keep walking until you see large charter busses….a lot of them. You should see a pedestrian crossing to walk across the main street towards P4. You will see Locauto signs. Do not go to the other rental car building as Locauto is located in P4 which is also a passenger parking garage. Last tip: blue lines are pay parking and you can pay on Easypark app by credit card. Enjoy the chaos that is Catania and happy driving! We loved our adventure in Sicily and can’t wait to return.

Fast, friendly staff. Pick up in Palermo was excellent and easy. Splendid car in great shape. Dropped off at Catania airport which was super easy. Francis our check in rep did a great job. The rental cost was great value for money. Will use Loauto again.

I’ve had some awful experiences with rental car companies in my time. So I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience with Locauto. There’s the usual extra charge here and there for an upgrade or a late return. However, the charges were as reasonable as one could imagine, and the staff were very clear about these charges — I didn’t feel like I was being cheated. The return was smooth. In particular, the attendant Alessandro was very friendly and efficient. I’d definitely rent with Locauto in Catania again.

We were sharing a car (and apartment) in Sicily with friends from Australia and I was getting spooked after reading reviews of the car hire options at Catania Airport. We also need quite a big car for 4 of us plus luggage. I quickly eliminated some options with no suitable vehicles and others for bad reviews, eg Europcar apparently pretending that UK photo driving licences are not valid in Italy. They are. So Locauto was my choice and it worked out well. They are fine with UK licences and accepted my annual excess insurance cover. We were early at the airport (a flight time change) and they did not yet have the P3008 we'd booked. But we went for the upgrade (€18pd more) to a big Volvo S60 B4 hybrid. It was very comfortable and economical but rather long for tight corners inside towns. I slightly scraped one alloy on a horribly narrow street in Noto but the friendly and efficient lady who checked us back in after 1,000km in 12 days didn't note it down when I pointed it out, as there was already a recorded scrape there. That was impressive, as so many hire car companies now seem to specialise in overcharging customers for slight damage that was probably already there in many cases and which they never actually repair. Just read the reviews and avoid those companies. Locauto were fine with us. Now we are just hoping we did't get caught by any hidden speed cameras. The road speed limit signage in SE Sicily is rubbish, with long stretches of 4 lane rural highways left on a ludicrous 50kmh when it was clearly just for a slight bump or quiet offtake a long way back.

Everything was OK. At the desk they told us that they don't have our car ready, so we can choose. Wait 10 more minutes for the car or pay just 4€/day more and get a new Opel Grandland crossover with automatic transmission. It was perfect for us because on the back seats were sitting 2 adults and one child in a child seat, so there was more space for sitting. The lady at the desk recommended to pay for the fuel and return the car with an empty tank, because we were returning the car in the middle of the night and she was worried about the gas stations opening hours. The price of a full tank of gassoline was 100€ so it was simmilar to the price from the gas station.

Booked the car for only 10 minutes. Car was in perfect condition. Our agent was very helpful as well as the staff at pick-up point. If I am going back to Catania, Locauto is the place where I would go for a rentacar.

the car was brand new and therefore in perfect condition. as we did the self check in online we got the car very fast. we did not buy any further insurances. had no problems at all. very kind service. prices are also good. i recommend locauto to everyone.

Hired a car from Catania airport and decided to swap to an automatic, straight forward to change and a cost of 30 euros. Met with a friendly staff member who was polite and professional and showed us to our car. He checked over the car with us using a torch to highlight any scratches or damage already on the bodywork. All damage is shown on an iPad and we signed to say we had checked and agreed.

Extremely straightforward and no hassle which put our mind at ease having read reviews on car hire companies at the airport. Dropping the car off was the same process, we checked the car together and on our way into the terminal within 20 mins. I definitely recommend.

I booked with Locauto Alamo last month. I'd read reviews on other car rental companies and was concerned enough that I seriously considered not renting a car and just taking the train instead. Thankfully I had a very smooth experience with Locauto. I purchased my own insurance through Expedia and the sales associate didn't try to push me to purchase theirs. Marco was very friendly. I was concerned about the size of the vehicle that I had selected and driving it through the narrow roads of Sicily. He was able to help me out with a slightly smaller SUV. I had no issues on drop off. Excellent service and experience. Worth renting through these guys, even if the price is a little bit higher than some of the other options.

I searched for this car rental company through Booking com, I chose it based on positive reviews. I ordered everything online and expected the quality of service. I am completely satisfied. Fast and professional service when renting a car, both at the desk and when handing over the vehicle. Clear and detailed introduction to the vehicle, checking the condition of the car. completely professional approach of the car rental employee. The same was true when returning the vehicle. We received a very high quality car at an even higher level than I ordered. Thank you very much and I recommend this rental company.

We rented a Skoda Kariq for 6 days for an incredibly cheap,the staff was very pleasent and helpfull. Had no problems with locauto i would recommend.

Excellent experience with Locauto. I picked up a rental car for a 3 week period for work and everything went smoothly. Fast check out at the Terminal versus the off-site options and also dropping it back. Car was very clean picking up and got a good rate and an upgrade. The staff were very helpful and professional at all times. Will definitely use Locauto again for my future trips

Amazing service - everything was very fast and the documents are singed and sent electronically. The staff was very nice and helpful. I also found the price including the insurance to be very reasonable.
