Taverna Malanotte

Exceptional service from a family run business, we could not fault anything, it was all perfect from the family recipes to the great wine recommendations. The meat and vegetarian lasagne were the best we’ve had on our trip! We even tried to have one dessert (the chocolate cake) but ordered another (the chestnut cake) as both were incredible! Thank you for having us and treating us as if we’d walked into a friend or families home.

Really authentic italian place in a narrow street of Bellano. It has only 5 tables inside, no option to sit outside. Two senjors serves you. The meniu is small, but lasagnia was delicious. They offer great variety of wines by glass or bottle. I loved it very much.

Lovely little family run business, by two older owners, we had the place to ourselves at lunch. The lasagne was incredible and very fairly priced for 2 with a glass of wine as well.

An exceptional experience. The owner, Pietro, was a brilliant host. He explained the menu and the wine, and shared stories about local life (we are tourists) that we absolutely loved hearing. The food and the wine was AMAZING. We had the lasagna and the parmigiana, and a bruschetta. The best lasagna we have had in Italy. We also had both of the desserts - a chocolate cake and a ricotta, jam and chestnut tart - and they were unbelievable. Made by the mother of the chef and we loved it. This is a local style, family run restaurant and we couldn’t recommend it enough. Also thank you to Pietro for your excellent wine recommendations.

Best food and restaurant experience I’ve had so far in Italy. Although the menu is limited, the lasagna and wine were absolutely delicious. Topped it off with chocolate cake.

The best dining experience we’ve had in our last 2 months in Italy. Thank you to this family and their establishment for creating such memories for us. The food menu is small, but what they have will be the best you’ve ever had. I wouldn’t hesitate to make this a must do on your vacation

Visited here last week and it honestly was some of the best food we had while in Italy. The owners are so sweet and after we ordered our food we could literally hear them going back and preparing it, everything was so fresh and the wine was amazing! Would 100% visit here again! The veggie lasagne was 10/10

This is a wine bar with a limited (but fantastic) food menu. The lasagna is truly exceptional. They have a good selection of wines by the glass and plenty by the bottle. We ordered most of the menu and enjoyed it all.

Taverna Malanotte is a lovely small wine bar in the back streets of Bellano. The feel is very authentic Italian. Lunch was fantastic with one of the best Lasagne Bolognese we have had in Italy. Desserts are amazing. The family that owns and runs the bar are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines they serve. Service was great fun and I would highly recommend for an authentic Italian experience.

My husband and I had the pleasure of having dinner at Taverna Malanotte on our first night in Bellano. We were greeted by the owners of the establishment and quickly realised what a special place Taverna Malanotte truly is. The wine selection is excellent and you are guided through the choices by the owners who truly appreciate you taking the time to ask about each wine. We also ordered the antipasto of meats and cheese which was incredible and the lasagne is a must order (as previously stated in past posts). We came back a second night in a row and were greeted like one of the family.
This lovely family owned wine bar and restaurant is not to be missed when visiting Bellano. Truly one of a kind!

I was so happy to get a seat here as it was the only place with a decent rating for dinner and it did not dissapoint! Humble setting and really pleasant staff. Really reasonable prices. I ordered the bruschetta (was the size of my head so didn't finish) and the caprese salad and lasagne (lasagne to die for) Glass of wine and a bottle of water and the 3 courses cost 29.50! Absolute bargain. Cannot recommend enough!

The couple who run the place are the sweetest of souls, and both the vegetarian and regular lasagnas are wonderful. I would highly recommend you try the chestnut chocolate cake for dessert - that thing changed my life. I used to be a sinner but after experiencing these heavenly flavors I have found Jesus. I would probably go to war for the lady chef, as would my girlfriend, who upon describing the meal as «lovely», was told «YOU are lovely», melting both of our hearts. If my girlfriend ever leaves me and the husband, god forbid, passes away, I will travel back to this place and ask for her hand. God Bless.

Amazing experience ! Fantastic food and fantastic people.
After a few nights in Bellano with no luck as to finding good food, we stumbled onto this little wine tavern. Little did we know this would be our best experience and most memorable one of our trip.

We started with wine, cheeses and ham which already got us filled. We then had lasagna and vegetarian lasagna that tasted just like the ones my Italian grandparents make, it was amazing. Even though this tavern isn’t technically a restaurant, the food they had to offer was absolutely delicious and authentic. To finish, we tried all the deserts, all home made by the wife. They were equally as delicious as the meal.

An elderly couple and their son own this tavern. We were the only ones in the restaurant that night and ended up chatting with the couple for a few hours, making the entire experience even more special and authentic. The atmosphere of the place also feels very authentic.

I have honestly nothing bad to say about this place, even the service was great. They were efficient, listened and advised well on what drinks to choose. Additionally, these people were the nicest people we encountered in our stay there, they felt genuinely kind hearted.

I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely come again if I ever get the chance to!

Absolute gem of a place! Service with a warm smile and great food! Try all the desserts , you can't go wrong with them. Great lasagna as well. Do call in advance and reserve a spot before dropping in.

A small and cozy family owned taverna. The menu is limited, however, the lasagna, both bolognese and vegetarian, is absolutely delicious and the chocolate cake is amazing as well. Very happy I got to have my first meal in Italy here.

This restaurant is the best place in Bellano! Owners are incredibly nice and welcoming. Food is real and very tasty, made with love (lasagne) ! They have a cave with wine from the region to buy !

Wow, five stars aren’t enough for this place, set in a beautiful Italian alleyway, everything from the moment you step in is special. The owners are welcoming and accommodating, the food is incredible. Apart from the wide range of wines on offer, the Bruschetta, the Lasagne, the Tiramisu, and of course the Chocolate Cake are out of this world. Can’t recommend highly enough!
