Ristorante da Nilo

Amazing meal on the edge of the town square! The anchovy and lemon zest pasta and the yellow tomato fusilloni with aubergine were among the best pasta dishes we had traveling through Italy!

The restaurant is on the Michelin Guide and now I know why. The service was very good. The food…amazing and very local, it was really nice to taste fine Italian food

We stayed about a mile away in, Podere San Girolamo. For Father’s Day we decided to enjoy a dinner at Da Nilo. We were deciding between this and another restaurant then noticed it had a Michelin plaque. I was nervous about how pretentious our meal might be but to our surprise everything was so good. The wine was smooth and our soup just danced in our mouths. The chef came out a few times and looked so proud of his meals, as he should be. The prices were also inexpensive. One of our nicest meals this trip. I would definitely return.

Phenomenal food and wine. The service impeccable and friendly. One of our absolute favourite restaurants when we venture to Italy. A must go with your appetite because you will eat like a king.

A lovely terrace by the plaza in Cetano, with excellent food, a selection of local specialties and a great selection of local wines. We loved the pici (homemade noodles) which are delicious with the different sauces offered (we had the boar sauce, also very local). The veal was the most tender I have ever had and so delicious! Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere make for a good experience. Reservations are recommended, as this is also a popular spot for the locals, but in a pinch we were also seated on a day when we just showed up after a long hot day in Florence. I very much recommend this place.

We had lunch two times during our stay in Cetona. Very good restaurant, good food, specialties from this part of Italy. Friendly staff, the people who are eating there are all from the village ore the neighbourhood. Not touristic. Good wine and good prices. The cook is a friendly man who walkes through the restaurant during the lunch to welcome everyone he knowes. Our holidays in Cetona are over. We woud defenitly eat here again if we ever return to thuis place!

We were amazed! Our first night in Cetona/Sarteano area we received a luke warm recommendation for Niko from a vegetarian friend. As I walked up to the restaurant and saw their Michelin plaque (recognized, but no star YET), I was excited, but concerned that my wife might have selected a place where we would spend a few hundred Euros.

When they brought the menu I was shocked. The prices were not just fair, but cheap. We were puzzled.

The menu was extensive and interesting. My daughter started with carpaccio, my wife their Tuscan appetizer, which included a chicken liver (and other organs?) Chopped topping which was astonishing.

I had suggested that hat my wife and I share a glass of red and white wine, and when I returned from the bathroom, there was a bottle of each. I was annoyed (with my wife), but when the bill arrived and they were only 12 Euros each I didn't care any longer!

The winemaker happened to be at Nilo that evening and we had a long conversation about his winery.

All of our meals were fantastic, and the pistachio topped dessert was wonderful.

We will return.

Piatti speciali 😋! Oltre che buonissimi, sono anche piuttosto abbondanti, al contrario di quello che l’ambiente lascerebbe pensare. Finalmente un contorno che non finisce dopo una corchettata e non sembra una presa in giro, come praticamente in tutti i ristoranti ormai.
