Pasta alla arrabiatta was to die for! Sweet with a hint of spice.

We were staying nearby at the resort Monteverdi and wanted to dine off property one evening. They recommended two options in Cetona and we selected Osteria del Merlo. What a charming spot with delicious food and service. Equally fun was their wine bar a short walk from the restaurant on the main square where we had an apertivo. The husband was running the wine bar (great selection) and the wife was the chef at the restaurant. Highly recommend a stop.

He made great wine recommendations that paired well with our food. He was also willing to help us with the language.
Food was the best pasta we had on our trip.

OK. Five stars might be a little strong, but here we enjoyed a nice meal in a comfy setting. I worry a little about the acoustics (I'm going deaf in my old age) if the place is full, but perhaps the barrel vaulting is worth it. I encourage anyone to stroll the piazza of tiny Cetona and sink into the care of this confident restaurant. Beware the infinite wine list (!), but be comforted by the helpful advice.

Was outstanding…food was beyond delicious! Without a doubt the Best food we have in Italy!
I recommend the sliced beef and the ravolli, for dessert the Cafe Babaresse.
My traveling companions recommend the filet.

We had a very nice evening here. The food was great and service was outstanding. Kids and dogs are very welcome (we brought 3 retriever)

If you go antipasto, primo, secondo and dolce you’ll need to bring hunger. The food is a lot and is so good that you don’t want to leave anything on the plate.

The wine menu is huge consisting of 19 pages offering wines from different regions.

Make sure to make a reservation if you want to sit on the terrace.

Would definitely come back.

When you dine at this restaurant, you should expect an outstanding dining experience. Every course was excellent, the wine list is fantastic, and our server Rudolph is knowledgeable and professional. Plus, they use local food and change the menu seasonally. Make reservations, you'll not be disappointed.👍

Terrific experience! Food was fantastic, we had a mix of pasta and meat and we close off with a nice dessert. Service is excellent, very good wine cellar. Definitely recommended.

Really nice and warm place, perfect for a romantic dinner or friends event. You can try the topical local food or something really from top gourmet. I stop by anytime I'm around there.
