Called in for our last dinner in Matera. We were very impressed.

I had orrichiette with sausage and Mrs C had the tagliione. She loved it.

Highly recommended.

Awesome traditional food in contemporary dishes!! Our waiter (cannot remember his name, 20yo young boy) was so polite and helpful and offered us a real Italian experience with his stories and recommendations!! I would definitely go back! Also awesome cave tradi environment!

Found this hidden gem accidentally and loved the cave vibe. We were pleased by the kind welcome of the staff right at the start followed by some of the best meals we have had on our whole trip through Italy.
It is always a pleasure to eat such good dishes, that are reasonably priced, and have a great interaction with the staff.
In hopes I got the name right, Davide was our waiter and he made our whole night feel special. His recommendations were on point, he was very patient and understanding of all of our needs.
Thank you for being so warm and lovely!

P.s Big compliments to the chef!

A lovely, amicable restaurant with great service (in English and Italian) and delightful cuisine. Our waiter, Davide, was a spitting image of Hercule Poirot, providing amusing conversation and great service.

Come for the yummy food and fun atmosphere.

Beautiful restaurant set in a historical cave, with staff that managed to be equal parts highly professional and friendly. The menu consists of crowd pleasers as well as more special local meat dishes. The waiter was very honest in helping us not to order too much when we thought we should order contorni, no upsell here. A bit more expensive than average, but well worth it. Don't miss the pistacchio tiramisu!

Amazing place, not only because of the unique atmosphere, great food (try the smoked dry peppers), but because of the good service and hospitality! 🍝

Not bad for a dinner in a cave 😆 Honestly, the place is great and I would definitely come back. They had a good selection of wine and the portions were generous. I would come back.

Excellent regional cuisine, atmospheric location (former underground wine cellar), and warm service. The pasta (paccheri pistacchio and orecchiette with matera style sausage) were highlights, as was the local red pepper “cruschi.” Wine list and recommendations were also very good. Highly recommend.
