A cozy restaurant tucked in the mountain, a perfect stop for hikers and bikers. It offers a good variety of comfort food

Exceptional, cosy, wonderful folk. This is the epitome of the local dining experience. Wherever I go, I try to find somewhere I can find typical, local, cultural food and experiences. This is what I long for, and have searched for over the years since I was a child and was taken to these sorts of places.

If you're looking for a fancy restaurant experience, stay in the tourist towns and leave the good stuff to the rest of us. If you appreciate home-cooked, local food and want to be part of something real, drop in here, spend half the price and have twice the fun.

We paid €30 for 2 of us to eat a board of salami and cheese, 2 plates of pizzoccheri (typical pasta of the valley), a jug of wine, 2 bottles of coke and a slice of fresh jam tart from that morning.

Didn’t actually eat here, but super cool place to walk to! Would recommend and definitely stop for food and drinks if you have time!

Hiking even better when you find the local trattoria on the way to the top of the mountain. Incredible hospitality from the owner who cooked just two of us.

To get to Crotto Dangri, you walk from Livo a few kilometers through the beautiful mountain landscape northwest of Lake Como. There it was well visited in April, but still rather quiet. You can eat simple regional specialties on a nice terrace. Furniture, equipment, choice of dishes: all pleasantly simple. Everything was natural and relaxed. The local food specialities like local cheese and ham are excellent. A valuable tip for all those who like to be out and about in beautiful nature.

A „mekka of canyoning”. Beautifull destination or a stop befor exploring the canyon. A mystery place

3km walk from Livo. Beautiful place, traditional polenta meals which are rather nice. The river flows through dramatic canyon and is very refreshing on a hot day. I admire people living there and running the business.

Great place to visit. Takes about 40 mins walking from the parking. Food is delicious and the atmosphere is homely.

The Crotto Dangri was very easy to reach via the small road in one hour. The place is really nice. The service and food was good. We definitely come back!

Very tasty local food like pizzoceri and polenta in a beautiful place along a river between the mountains.
The owners are very friendly and dogs are welcome as well

This is the only waterfall in summer where one can relax and take a dip. Peaceful area

Crotto Dangri: un'oasi di pace e gusto

Sono salito in Mountain bike da Domaso . Questo crotto è bello perché si respira ancora l'aria casalinga e il cibo è sempre buono e nostrano a dei prezzi economici . Volendo si può anche fare un bagno e prendere il sole al fiume .

Il Crotto Dangri è un ristorante tipico situato a Livo, in Valtellina. Immerso nella natura, offre un'atmosfera rustica e accogliente. Il menù propone piatti della tradizione valtellinese, preparati con ingredienti freschi e di stagione. Ho avuto modo di assaggiare i pizzoccheri, davvero ottimi, e la polenta taragna con funghi, saporita e abbondante. Il servizio è gentile e attento.

Da Dongo in bicicletta:

Raggiungere il Crotto Dangri da Dongo in bicicletta è un'esperienza piacevole e panoramica. Il percorso, lungo circa 10 km, si snoda lungo la ciclabile della Valtellina, costeggiando il fiume Mera. La salita è graduale e non presenta particolari difficoltà. Il tratto finale, che conduce al crotto, è sterrato ma ben percorribile.

Consigli:

Prenotate in anticipo, soprattutto nei weekend.

Se arrivate in bicicletta, portate con voi un cambio di vestiti, in caso di sudore.

Godetevi il panorama e la tranquillità della Valtellina.

Dopo aver parcheggiato l’auto a Livo e una tranquilla passeggiata immensa nel verde di 4 km ci siamo trovati in questa location meravigliosa dove abbiamo gustato polenta oncia e spezzatino fantastico 🤩🤩

Wanderung von Livo nach Crotto Dangri. Parkplatz am Ortseingang von Livo. Einfache Wanderung mit Kindern (auch Kinderwagen) in einer Stunde locker zu schaffen. Im Sommer unbedingt Badesachen einpacken!!

tolles Ausflugsziel inmitten des urwüchsigen Tals, es gibt hier auch eine Bademöglichkeit im Fluss.
Einfache Speisen und günstige Getränke, alles sehr rustikal und gemütlich.
Wir haben hier nur etwas getrunken und danach am Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung im Ort Livo gegessen, dort gibt es eine fantastische Pizza.
