B & B Ca 'Spiga

My wife and I stayed here 2 nights and I’m afraid that nothing in our trip is going to top this.
The breakfast (which was included) was amazing, the staff was incredibly welcoming (they even helped us plan our day trips in Como), and everything was so well thought.
If you are on the fence about staying here, let me help you: you should!

What an incredible place—massive thank you to Alessandro, his family, and Oscar! They all went above and beyond helping make our stay super memorable and relaxing. Everything from arranging the best boat, easy travel from the train station, a gorgeous breakfast, and stunning views made our trip one we will never forget. The house is a beautiful, modernized time capsule with lots of history and character. We also appreciated the post-spritz hike up the stairs to the house 😂. Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon! 🚤🤌🏼❤🧀

- The whole house is old but restored incredibly well. Good use of space and amenities (even a jaccuzi!)

- You can leave your bags for a while after checking out

Could be better
- Access is a bit tough. Buses are really unreliable in Como and getting to the bus stops is a bit dangerous. The roads have no walkway so you're at arm length with speeding cars
- Beds are charming but make a lot of noise

Love, love, love this place! We'll be coming back ASAP. Old and modern at the same time. Alessandro, Andrea, and Oscar are accommodating and responsive. The location is on the way to everything. Breakfast is amazing! Local treats and everything you could want. Very satisfied and pleased

My husband and I absolutely loved honeymooning in this boutique hotel in a quaint town in lake Como. The whole place is so very cute and special. Full of character and history. It's got a little museum, a private jacuzzi, garden, terrace, winery, kitchen for guests to store stuff. Our room was small and simple, but very clean, very well maintained, equipped with AC and overviewing the lake. We loved every bit of our stay. We travel a lot and stay in many places. This hotel will certainly be a cherished memory.
As other people have mentioned, breakfast is spectacular. In a way it's standard types of products. They've got yogurts, cheese, fruits, bread, some cakes, Nutella, honey, orange juice. But its the quality of all these products that takes the gold and elevates it. The cheeses were all local, not mass produced. Honey was local. The yoghurts carefully selected, fruits and bread really really fresh, coffee simply divine. And the cakes were just heavenly. They offer freshly squeezed juice and freshly made eggs on demand.
And must not forget to mention the staff of the hotel. They are so warm, kind and attentive, particularly Oscar who was going above and beyond. They picked us up from the parking area, showed us to the hotel, showed us all around the building, demonstrated all facilities, told us where we can go for food, to the beach etc and from then on everytime we'd bump into each other they were lovely, welcoming and inquiring about us. They really made us feel great, safe and welcome.

An incredible experience. I stayed at Ca'Spiga for the first time in early May. I have visited many places and hotels in Como but this is my favourite. The location, the homely touches, the authenticity and the friendliness of the staff has made it somewhere that I will not only return to stay but also recommend to friends and family.

The views from the room were among the best that Como can offer. The location in Laglio was very efficient, not far from Como central/ Cernobbio or the Swiss border and also to Tremezzo and Bellagio in the other direction.

It was only me and two others staying in the hotel but the breakfast buffer in the morning was terrific. Locally sourced hams, cheeses and eggs were prepared along with coffees, juices and yoghurts.

The room was large, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern.

The house is built upon a 150 year old wine cellar and has a jacuzzi too.

I can't wait to return here with my partner later in the summer.

I recently spent 3 nights at Ca 'Spiga and was extremely pleased. The B&B exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was clean, beautiful and comfortable. I was lucky to have a wonderful view of Lake Como. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was perfect - fresh, delicious and just what you would need to start your day. I found getting around very easy, with the bus stop less than 5 minutes away, and a walk to the public beach on Lake Como also just 5 minutes away. A few great restaurants within walking distance (great pizza just 5 minutes away at Pizzeria il Sagittario, and great fresh seafood down the street at Ristorante Osteria Vecchio Molo). However, there are a lot of stairs to get down to the Lake and main road - wasn't a problem for me, but keep that in mind if you have any challenges with stairs. I would highly recommend and hope to be returning :)

I stayed here for a night on my way further north and can’t recommend it enough.
The rooms are gorgeous and very comfy, the whole hotel is beautiful with lots of little rooms and gardens to explore.

The view from the terrace is stunning and a great place to have a glass of wine. I even ditched my restaurant reservation and watched the moon rise from the balcony with a pizza from the shop just down the road.
Staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and accommodating. 10/10

You will enjoy great views of lake Como , delicious large continental breakfast with lots of variety including local cheeses and cured meats. Property has been renovated and still keeps the old character . Modern bathrooms. Our room was the large blue room which had a balcony on the first level. Alessandro is the wonderful host who made sure all guests are looked after. If you don't have a car there is a bus stop one minute walk away with free hourly community local bus to chernobbio. Public buses also go to Como and mennagio from here.

We had a fantastic stay in Ca' Spiga B&B! The house with it's special style is located inside of a "stone city" and has a view above the Lake Como, that couldn't be better! The room was clean and comfortable. Also the owner was very friendly and offered a great breakfast in the mornings. Thank you for giving us the feeling, to feel free to ask you everything if it would had been necessary. This made us (especially me) feel very relaxed and happy. I can recommend this hotel to everybody - you will have great vacations there!

5 stars for Alessandros wonderful bed and breakfast! There is really nothing to complain about, even more, it was just perfect for us! We (2 adults and a 5 month baby) had a beautiful room with a tastefully interior design respecting the old house athmosphere. Every morning Alessandro prepared a breakfast with love, serving everything you need for a good start including self made cake. Alessandro gave us tips to explore lake Como and for the next steps of our journey. He is a very nice host who is always there when you need him, but in a very discreet way.
The house itself is located in a less touristic area of lake Como with only a few restaurants around, so it is a good base for day tours and I would recommend to come by car.
If we come back we will stay there and recommend it to everyone who like to stay in an B.B. with perfect athmosphere!

Alessandro is a wonderful host who makes a really good tart and prepares a welcoming breakfast. Our room had exposed wood beams, a view of the lake and a modern bathroom. House is charming and is a good base while exploring the western side of Lago di Como.

We really enjoyed our stay here - you can really sense the owners care and are genuine in what they have created. Oscar was very helpful and kind.

We loved everything about this charming B&B. Spacious room (Spiga) with lake views even from the super king bed. Alessandro is an amazing kind host. Breakfast was local meats and cheeses from his Bottega Cafe (10 minute stroll from b&b). We will be back.

5 stars. Ca ‘Spiga is a beautiful family run B and B in an idyllic setting - our room had a large terrace overlooking the lake. The breakfast is amazing set in a great location within walking distance of restaurants. We rented a Vespa which was the easiest way to get around and park. Ale was very helpful throughout our stay. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will certainly be coming back here again. Fantastic.

I have had the privilege of staying at B&B Ca Spiga twice. The third time I went to Como we were with a group and could not stay, but we stopped by Da Luciano's Bottega (run by the owner's family) and had lunch. Alessandro has become like an adopted part of the family...obviously he does this for all of his guests. To sit and sip not one, but two cappuccinos in the morning on the terrace overlooking the lake...fantastic! Anytime you have just two people or two couples, consider B&B Ca Spiga. You will not be disappointed. Have Alessandro fix you a picnic from Da Luciano's and go to the Balcony of Italy...awesome!

Beautiful, unique accommodation with wonderful views, a vast history, & amazing hospitality by Alessandro & David. Delicious breakfast & clean rooms. Would recommend again and again.

I mean… the picture says it all! I would give this place 6 or 7 stars if I could :) as already stated by someone else below, it’s a perfect mix of (cosy) old and new, with all the modern appliances working perfectly but with a vintage touch to the decor. And the views are out of this world..!

The best place to stay in the area. Very stylish, clean rooms, with jawdropping views from the balconies - we loved spending our evenings there. Super pleasant host and staff!

Very impressive place, and really enjoyed our weekend in Laglio. Alessandro and his team do exactly what they say they will do, and I would highly recommend that if you want to enhance your stay in a beautiful place like Laglio, stay at Ca Spiga. You will be glad you did.
