Stella D'Italia

One of the most beautiful locations to reside during a vacation. Simple hotel but in a exquisite location. Friendly staff, decent breakfast. Public parking just around the corner. Very nice to be able to take a swim in the morning.

This hotel has one of the most magical views we have ever seen. Nadine offered exceptional service. She was very helpful in answering questions and never made us feel like we were a bother. Very nice breakfast in the morning- we loved the option for an omelette. Dinner at the hotel was delicious with other options close enough to hike or drive to. * walking around the lake is not an option. So be prepared to take the bus or rent a car

The location is amazing and the place has a character. The rooms and the halls of the hotel are charmingly decorated, the garden is well taken care of and contribute to the atmosphere. The dinner and the breakfast were good. The staff is friendly. The rooms are comfortable. It was our best stay of the long 3 week vacation and definitely in a top of the hotels I've been to despite it's 3 stars.

We went to the hotel's restaurant for dinner. The prices are excellent compared to the quantity and quality of the food. The ambience is classy and upscale, the service courteous and very friendly. We had a wonderful evening and would come back anytime.

This is a stunning hotel in a beautiful location. It's quiet and away from the tourist locations but near enough to Loguno which is also beautiful. You will need a car to truly appreciate the area but there is a bus service if you like using public transport. The hotel is oldy worldy, beautifully clean and the food is great. Service is perfect and everyone very friendly. We will be back :-)

Stellar Experience with Minor Flaws at Hotel Stella d'Italia

During my stay at Hotel Stella d'Italia, I was impressed by the friendly staff, cleanliness, and tranquility of the premises. The stunning view from my room enhanced the overall experience.

Unfortunately, the slow internet connection posed a challenge throughout my visit.

The hotel's restaurant served an exceptional risotto, which was a highlight of my stay. However, the saturnine maître d's unsmiling demeanor and apparent displeasure to serve customers detracted from the otherwise enjoyable dining experience.

In summary, Hotel Stella d'Italia offers a pleasant stay with a few areas ripe for improvement.

The room with queen bed was a bit small but perfectly fine. Balcony overlooked the lake and the terrace below.

Nadine, the receptionist was beautiful, friendly and multilingual. German, Italian, English and maybe French.

We took the train to Lugano and the C-12 bus from train station direct to San Mamete. The bus stops at the front door of this hotel.

The restaurant is elegant and wonderfully staffed. Mario seated us for our included breakfast and was a delight. Breakfast included a fresh fruit compote, yoghurt, croissants, rolls with ham, salami and cheese. The coffee was superb and is served with warmed milk.

Dinner menu is varied and the fish Mediterraneo was very good.

Will absolutely be back!

Small and nice hotel, that perfectly fits the scenery of Lago de Lugano. It has become a little of age that however creates this special atmosphere. The staff is very motivated and kind and speaks German, English and of course Italian. It was a perfect two day stay… how could it be any different with this beautiful lake and Mountain View?!

We are looking forward to our next trip to the ‚Star of Italy‘.

Beautiful hotel, we'll definitely be coming back. The room (standard) was quite small but very clean. The hotel restaurant is very good and the lakeside terrace is peaceful and romantic. Next time we'll take a superior room and stay longer.

Nice hotel, good service, friendly staff. Situated right by the lake in a small town 15min from Lugano. Just the right place for a calm getaway for a few days!

Perfect for spending a few relaxing days. Great restaurant and service, comfortable rooms (all with a lake view) and very little urban noise (day and especially nights). Also great starting point for (alpine) walks on the mountains behind the hotel.

Beautiful location. Rooms are simple and clean with spectacular views over the lake. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Especially Max the waiter. Highly recommend a stay here.

This is the most relaxing and beautiful place I've ever been to. I've been here a couple of times and it always made me happy. The food is a bit pricey but excellent (I recommend the Lamb chops with raspberry sauce)

Perfect presentation of carefully prepared food complemented the postcard-worthy setting of this hotel's veranda on Lake Lugano. Do not just drive by.

You will feel at home in this cozy little hotel. Ask for a room with a vie to the Lake Lugano ! And the food is great!! One of the best experiences around San Mamete.

Just happened upon this gem. We totally enjoyed our stay and can't say enough about the staff. Especially our new friend Massimo and the cleaning staff. Such a special place!!

Very nice and romantic place right in front of lake, with private solarium and special Italian food. Not only for holiday but for dinner and lunch too.

Amazing place, the room was lovely the food was great the hotel was brilliant and to top it off the lake was fantastic will most definitely be coming back to this place
