I visited this store last month while I was in Florence for vacation. I bought a pair of moccasins which I was very satisfied with. I didn't get to buy more, so I emailed Stefano for an online purchase. He was super kind, and the process was quick and convenient. Eventually, I received my additional sandals and bags at my home. I really liked the products and look forward to visiting again.

THIS WILL BE THE ONLY REVIEW YOU NEED TO READ. I am a Texan... and well acquainted with leather shoes/boots. My wife and I are big on comfort, quality and style. We're not rich, but do have specific tastes. This shop, the sales team and the owner are the real deal. From the minute I walked in I felt welcomed and cared for. The sales guy was super helpful with style and fit. This shop has been in business for decades and it shows. If you are looking for hand crafted leather shoes at a great value this is the only place you need to go. Skip the leather market... definitely skip the high end and over priced name brand designer stores... and GO HERE! If you're looking for a high quality shoe with a great story these bad boys are what you're looking for.

My sister and I each got a pair of Rive Gauche shoes on a trip to Florence years ago. My old pair are the black ones (model 59T30), not sure if they still make that color anymore. We got these boots as teenagers and they still look great after 20 years. They are unbelievably comfortable and both of our favorite pair of boots. I have been trying to find them online and was thrilled to discover their website. It was a pleasant and surprisingly simple process to order my three new pair of shoes. I am grateful that their customer service members speak English and are able to ship to the US! I love these shoes!! Thank you!!

In and out this shoe store is one of the special places in Florence and it is simply fun to see the owner and his companion to fashionize the world. The shoes are outstanding and very comfortable so that it was just five minutes to choose and take a new pair of them. Well done!

Very lovely shop. My boyfriend found his new favourite loafers and I fell in love with a woven handbag. As they didn't have the bag in the colour I liked, they bespoke made it for me and sent it to my home in Germany within a couple of days. What a service! The quality is amazing and you can find unique treasures in the shop & online. Thank you!

Incredible quality leather shoes. I'm an American and bought my first pair of loafers here. The service staff are experts in their field are are straight to the point. Don't listen to anyone who claims this place is "mean" as they are simply being ignorant.

BEST handmade leather shoes in Florence if you are looking for high quality vegetable tanned cow leather. The salesman spoke perfect English and was so helpful and courteous. To owner was so sweet to us as well. Quality is top notch and the price is medium range (my boots were 259 euros). There are other shoe makers who may sell similar style shoes for slightly lower price, but their quality is poor with super hard, thick chemical coating. Here, the leather is baby soft and with the right fitting, you won’t get any blisters. They are known for the genuine vegetable tanned color (light brown” and you won’t see any other colors (except a couple black leather shoes)). But the style and variation here for their known leather is amazing. This is a small hidden gem in Florence for excellent quality men’s and women’s shoes!

Top quality leather goods . It’s already a tradition for me to come to Firenze to Rive Gauche. Actually, half of the reason I come back to Firenze over the years is because of this shop. I own 6 pairs of their shoes and don’t have a plan to stop ;)

It’s an amazing shopping experience - comfortable and stylish shoes, and very helpful and friendly staff (a young man with suit). I bought shoes with cow skin, comfortable and easy to walk. I was looking for some recommendations and suggestions, and the friendly staff patiently helped me try all shoes I was interested.

I wanted to shout out and rate this place. Years later after purchasing my pair of boots, they still look great and I love wearing them every time. It's been about 9 years since I purchased them and I absolutely love them!
I also made a deal with an owner for 2 Circus tickets for his daughter and in exchange he gave me this beautiful belt to wear with the shoes.
Next time I return to Florence this will be my first stop for a couple of new.

My husband and I visited Florence, Italy during the holidays and stumbled on Rive Gauche Shoes. We both bought a pair of shoes while in Florence. However, as we parted with Florence I could not stop thinking about the purses. Once we arrived back in California I emailed and Stefano was amazing and prompt. I ordered a purse online and received it today and it is beautiful. Not only is the quality amazing, but the customer service at the store and via email was above and beyond. Thank you so much. I will be ordering in the future. The shoes are like wearing slippers.

I purchased my first pair of leather sandals from Rive Gauche two years ago. I have wide feet and it is very difficult for me to find comfortable footwear, but this pair fit like a glove, the soft leather making them a perfect fit. Last month I went on my second trip to Florence with Rive Gauche top on my list of shops to visit. This time even my daughters purchased the most amazing leather boots and sandals. I even made an order which I received by mail today. Love them!

In September I had the good fortune of stumbling upon this beautiful shoe store in Florence. I bought three pairs of shoes- tall boots, booties, and sandals. All are exquisitely made. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and bent over backwards to assist me. The next time I get to Firenze I will head back to Rive Gauche! Fabulous!

I first purchased a pair of knee-high leather boots here 15 years ago as a traveling student. To this day, I still wear these fantastic boots: they fit like a glove and the leather is excellent quality. I've gotten them re-soled about 5 times so I can keep wearing them. I visited Florence again this past week and was delighted to see the same man running the shop: he was in the same all-linen suit and hat that I remember so well. I told him the story of how I was there so long ago and it was just a lovely interaction. I purchased (2) pairs for myself and (2) pairs for my husband. The leather is soft and feels already broken in--in the best way possible. Highly recommend these shoes for quality, style and to support really talented designer and makers.

In 2017 I travelled to Florence Italy and discovered this wonderful shoe store. 4 years later back home in Canada I talking to my friends about my shoes that I wish I would have been kinder to. I tell them the story of where they came from and how amazing they conform to my feet. These shoes are weightless, these shoes go with everything from dressed up to dress down. I only wish I had more. Then it happened, we researched the he shoe stores in Florence. Using google maps I rediscovered the shoe store was still there. I reached out and moments later it was confirmed. These shoes I can still get. I had the most amazing experience. Back and forth thru emails I was able to order me and my friends each a pair of shoes that are undoubtedly THE BEST.

I thought for sure the shipping would be insane. It wasn’t. I thought customs would be treacherous. It wasn’t. I thought I wouldn’t see shoes for months, I was wrong again.

To my surprise everything worked out better then anticipated. Easy, fast and not only that but the customer service thru email was exceptional.

I ordered a matching pair of booties to the shoes I loved so much and was advised to go a size smaller. I was so worried what if they came and didn’t fit. Wow !!!!!!! They were right, they fit so perfect. The leather so soft it’s like wearing socks.

A great experience and I will order again. Seeing the smiles and joy from my friends I know they will as well.

I first bought in store seven years ago while on vacation. I recently decided to purchase another pair along with a couple pairs of shoes for my wife as gifts. I was a bit nervous about the international shipping from Florence to the United State. The shoes arrived just six days after I paid for them. I am sure I will be making more purchases in the future. A true diamond in the ruff.

It only took 1 week to recieve my order in America. My wife saw some shoes on our honeymoon in Florence and unfortunately they were not in stock. I contacted Rive Gauche shoes by email to buy them for her for our 1 year anniversary. They reached out and answered every question within the hour, and the correct shoes were delivered a week later. Truly a 5 star experience, this is how everyone should do business.

AMAZING experience! Looking for some genuine Italian leather shoes that are “made in Italy” and found this shop. The owner was super nice and was able to help me just by looking at my feet! He even helped with finding a pair for my mom who was not on this trip. Excellent service and can’t wait to start using my Italian leather shoes!

I loved the pair of loafers I picked up from this shop. Of all the larger stores in Florence, this one caught my eye immediately. The shopkeeper suggested a timeless design and I was sold immediately. I just wish they had VAT refund papers. Otherwise 10/10 will suggest this place to everyone
