Gavia Pass

Best mountainpass in the Bormio area. The ascent from Ponte di Lechno is one of the best I've ever done. But you need lights on your bike for the tunnelpart. The descent to Bormio is better due to the new tarmac. Would recommend any cyclist to visit this climb.

One of the best bike descents I've ever ridden. The road was still closed on one side so there was almost no traffic.

So beautiful and lots of walks to do. Great refugio Bennett just round the corner with good good and hospitality, warm fire and half board for $50 euro- ie dinner room and breakfast all included.

On a way for Passo de Stervio, we took a rest at here. Nice view. I felt that we were in the Italian Alps.

Crazy ascent but views are well worth it. Done it in a small car, it has to be a road bike next time.

Famous small mountain pass, can be very crowded with cyclist, motorcycles, cars, hikers. On the way to the top, in a car, you will have to manoeuvre back and forth because it's too narrow for two cars.

Great place to ride despite it is a bit narrow on some legs, the view totally deserve to get there!

Great panorama, one of the most beautiful pass roads im the alps. Great for cyclists too, its one to be earned. Be careful with the downhill, parts of the road are not in best conditions.

Scariest drive in the European Alps and we did many. Long very narrow one way stretches particularly on the way down forced us to back up.
Only got to do it because Stelvio was closed due to flooding and despite coming up Umbrail Pass when we went to go back down to head to Ortesei we found Umbrail Pass also closed so we had to go down the mountain to Bormio. A big days driving but mind blowingly scenic.

It's a long and hard ride with a road bike up to the top from Ponte di Legno but the gratitude for making it is awesome. Also good Pasta at the Refuge at the top.
