Villa Ida - Sicilian Luxury Villa

Well finished, well kept, wow villa for 8 couples. Highly recommended.

Villa Ida is a spectacular and luxurious place to stay in Sicily. I recently spent a week there to celebrate my birthday and could not recommend it more highly. The property is very large with plenty of rooms for guests and privacy. The commons areas bring the group together for dinner and shared time. In particular, my group enjoyed the al fresco dining area and the wine cave. The surrounding area is truly off-the-beaten-path, providing a wonderful and authentic way to experience Sicily.

Watch Out! The Owner of the Villa Ida is very suspicious. We stayed for a week in the villa ida and recognized a lot of surveillance cameras in the courtyard and garden. On the second day the Owner of the villa just showed up without telling us. He opened the gate by his own and drove inside the courtyard. After that he walked around on his own and watched the children swim in the pool. When we recognized him he was already walking around through our personal stuff and checked us. So right after we recognized him, we kindly asked if there was a problem. He just answered, that this is his villa and told us the excuse, that he forgot to bring us our first-aid-kit. So after 20 minutes he finally left the property. The children were really distracted and fearful because a foreign man came and watched them swimming. We also felt very strange and knew that the owner watches his security cameras and could not relax outside in the garden or the pool anymore. It was really weird and felt insecure to get visited by an unknown man while your are lightly-dressed in the pool. 

We told the rental company Isula Travel what happened and they responded very rude, that the owner is allowed to visit his Villa whenever he wants to, even though guests are in there. We told the company, that the rental contract says, that any visit has to be announced to the guests in advance but the owner and Isula Travel do not care about that and even did not excuse, so it probably happens more often.
We will definately never rent anything from Isula Travel again and are really upset, that we were treated like that even though we payed a lot of money for rent.

Attention - RIP OFF!

I don‘t know where to start… We stayed in the Villa „Ida“ in Modica, which is runned by Isula Travel, and had a beautiful time there. The villa is really big, clean, good looking and we made some nice memories there. We also had a firendly conversation in the beginning with Isula Travel.

BUT after our stay we were really shocked. Isula Travel did not refund our deposit of 1.500€. After we asked several times why the deposit was taken away, they answered unfriendly that we broke the rental contract because there was someone driving through the gate who delivered food for all of us. The problem was, that the deliverer was not registered in advance by us to Isula Travel. Even though it was just a quick food delivery Isula Travel was not willing to make an exception or tried to find a solution beside taking the whole 1.500€ deposit from us. It seems like this is their rude way of making some extra money with the customers. Sadly this dispute destroys our fun memories of our stay.

What kind of „luxury“ villa or rental company is that? We payed thousands of euros for rent and are not able to order food spontaneously without telling Isual travel in advance? Is there any privacy?

We are really upset and angry and try to get our money back by a lawyer.
