Great experience, I would warmly recommend this place. The ambience and interiors are very nice, enriched by an old traditional setting and decorations. The staff is very friendly. Above all, all dishes were extremely good and tasty. If you use google maps keep walking a bit further (there is a bar and then an indication to get to the right) if you are going downwards (otherwise it is a bit before)

Each bite was an explosion of taste. This was the best experience that we had so far in a restaurant. The chef was extremely friendly and he brought us all kinds of delicious Sicilian food. We let him decide on our full menu and we did not regret it: traditional taste with a modern look and technique. This place would definitely deserve a Michelin star. It is beyond tasty, beyond friendly and extremely clean. 5/5 is not enough. PS: ask for their home-made Mandarinello liquor.

Awesome restaurant and great food. Very nice people. Three years ago, they provided food for our son's wedding for more than 100 people and it was excellent quality. They gave lots of vegetarians dishes and everybody loved them. Set up was great.

One of the best restaurant serving Sicilian dishes. Very friendly staff. Owner was sitting with us and talking Italian, we speak English and Polish...but we understand each other.

Amazing restaurant with a beautiful terrace, where you will eat a variety of high-quality Sicilian food.

We loved the food, with local products and dishes that were outside the typical pizza-pasta combination. Plenty of vegetables (awesome caponata and melanzane parmigiana), meatballs, and homemade deserts (please try the lemon desert with strawberry jam).

Despite the food being amazing, the best asset of the restaurant is Pippo, the owner. He showed us the meaning of Sicilian hospitality. He checked on us regularly to check if everything was okey, he told us about the Sicilian culture and the history of the restaurant (he bought and old house 22 years ago and rebuilt it into this beautiful restaurant). He even gave us a tour into the kitchen.

He turned the dinner into a cultural and friendly experience.

Best price-quality ratio I remember to have seen in any restaurant, where for 30€/person we had 12-15 small dishes (all chosen by Pippo since we asked him for recommendations), dessert and 2 bottles of wine.

After completing an extraordinary tour of the charming, historic (by tradition part of the crew of Aeneas, Ancient Greek and Roman, Arab, Norman, Jewish, Bizantine and Spanish were all here) jewel, San Marco d’Alunzio, we thought to catch a quick lunch at the highly recommended La Macina before heading back to Palermo. Instead we were welcomed into a magical, embracing wonderland of extraordinary, totally made in their kitchen, authentic food and drink and warm conversation. The owner was a gracious host, sharing parts of his life and philosophy. The food was, as my wife and her friend sighed, poetry that raised goosebumps of culinary pleasure and memories of the more authentic food they grew up with in Palermo.

I unreservedly entreat you to come to San Marco d’Alunzio if for nothing other than to experience the marvel that is La Macina, but then allow yourself to be drawn into the treasure that is this village itself.

We've been visiting San Marco d'Alunzio, and stopped as La Macina for dinner. The (very nice) host proposed some antipasti, before choosing some pasta. We expected 6 antipasti plates, to share between the guests, ended up with a dozen of different dishes, all delicious!
Pasta were fabulous: we were served troffies with a pistacchio sauce (🤯) and a surprising nettle pasta.

Highly recommend! I would drive an hour to go to this restaurant. Farm to table style eating. Everything super fresh, super delicious. And the owner is so friendly. Food is delicious and healthy! Everyone so nice.

This place is seriously amazing! The quality and taste of the food is incomparable with any other place. I love the atmosphere and it really worth the trip. After having eaten here you won't find a better place to feel satisfied enough. When I think about the perfect food here is where I can find it. 10 stars isn't even enough

La Macina was amazing, you can try different kinds of typical Sicilian food, includin local wine. Everythig tased very good and Pipo, one of the owners, was very nice to us. We highly recomend this place!

Kind, welcoming and friendly staff. Food is absolutely delicious and the restaurant is located in an amazing location. If you want to eat here make sure you skip a meal ahead because servings are endless! I'll be certainly going back.

The food was amazing, the owner came to us and suggested we should try the antipastas.. then the dishes just started coming..and coming..and they were all great. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
